Morning guys, Quick question. Please how long does it take for one's profile to be activated on MyCIC? I submitted my entry on Sunday and I'm yet to receive any message including reference code to the job bank. Also my status still reads "Processing submission" @ Zandora, Howdy? |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by zandora: 12:12pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
Issydebo: Hiya! I got mine about 5 mins after submission but it varies from a few mins to a few days. A friend of mine waited 2 weeks without any job bank details email so he deleted his profile and created another one after which he immediately got the email. I would create another one if I were you so that i'ld be swimming in the pool for the next draw. There might not be many draws left. |

Issydebo: I think it's called withdraw profile. However if you can't see it don't bother yourself as it'll automatically be withdrawn 60 days after you created it. |

Hi Oclemzy, I might not be the right person to answer your question as I don't have permanent residence yet. However, I will try to explain the next step to you based on my understanding. You will need to assess you academic qualifications, if you have not. You can go for any of the 3 options (WES, ICAS & CES) but I will advise you to go for WES as you will get your ECA faster than the other 2. Check this link for more details http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp You will also need to have the required fund in your account. I will advise you to keep the money for about 6 months except you can write a letter of explanation on the source of your fund. I had to reject my first Invitation to Apply as I was not too comfortable with the average balance over 6 months. Check this link for details http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp Once you have your IELTS result, use the tools below to calculate your CRS score and to confirm your eligibility. Your score will determine how early you get invitation to apply http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp You can then join the pool. Ensure you choose the right NOC based on your Job experience and please do not put any information on your profile that you will not be able to provide proofs for as you will be asked to upload supporting documents after ITA. Let me know if you have any other questions. oclemzy: |

Hi dupyshoo, Thanks for the info you've just shared. I do have a question o. What's with the ITA ? Do you get that separately or you can just go on the cic website and then register for everything yourself ? dupyshoo: |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by dupyshoo: 6:23pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
Hi Snezy, CIC will not tell you to keep the money for 6 months but in the requirement for POF after ITA you will be asked to submit a letter from you bank showing the start dates, current balances and 6 months average balances of all your accounts. The only reason they ask for this is to compare your average balance with your current balance. If the difference between the 2 is high, they will assume you borrowed the money. The only way out will be to write a letter of explanation on why you have the high difference. I hope you understand now. snezy: |

Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by dupyshoo: 6:31pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
Hiyah, Once you have your IELTS and ECA, you will create a profile in the pool. After the creation of the profile, you will be given a CRS score out of a score of 1200. Draws are done about twice a month with a cut off score. For instance, in the last draw, the minimum crs score was 459. Everyone with CRS score above and equal to the cut off score will be issued an ITA (Invitation to Apply). It is after then you can submit your application to CIC. If you don't have a CRS score up to the cut off, you will remain in the pool. The target should therefore be to get as high CRS score as possible. I hope I have been able to answer your question. Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by DanIndia(m): 6:33pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
Yes, you have and that is so comprehensive. However, I do a self assessment on the website and the score I got was around 453. What other addons would on need to to get to 459 or higher ? dupyshoo: |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by Issydebo: 6:33pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
zandora: thanks. created another profile and now officially in the pool!!! |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by dupyshoo: 6:58pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
Hiyah, I can't really say how you can improve your score unless I know the breakdown of your score. However a score of 453 is not bad as the lowest cut off ever was 451. My CRS score was initially 454 before it jumped to 472 after adding spouse' IELTS. I actually got my first ITA with that score. So my advise is to enter the pool and wait for the next 2-3 draws to get ITA. DanIndia: |

Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by dupyshoo: 7:18pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
It depends on your family size. Check this link for the minimum amount you have to keep on your account. You will be expected to bring the money with you to Canada when Landing cos they might ask. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp ylinklsope: |

dupyshoo:Thanks, I'm applying as a single applicant tho. So if I av like 500k - 900k.. m I good to go? |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by DanIndia(m): 7:39pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
That's something I find very surprising. Initially, when I just used my details I was at 461. I added my spouse's info and I got 457. It was a bit funny as I was hoping it would increase. Perhaps, I'm not doing something right. You already got ITA? How's the prccess going so far ? dupyshoo: |
Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by dupyshoo: 7:43pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
If you are married, about 30 points (20 for IELTS abd 10 for education) are deducted from your score. Your spouse is expected to contribute the 30 points to your CRS score. DanIndia: |

I see, and what if she writes the IELTS and is a degree holder. Her Bachelors degree is a different one as she is to be licensed in the near future. Would be consider equal to the masters degree/professional degree on the CRS page ? dupyshoo: |

Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by dupyshoo: 8:01pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
If she writes IELTS, the equivalent points will be added to your total score. For her to get point for her qualification, it will have to be evaluated by WES. 10 points will be added if her ECA is evaluated as Master's equivalent. DanIndia: |

Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by dupyshoo: 8:10pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
From the link I sent, the min amount for a single applicant is about 12000 canadian dollars. I think that should be almost 2 million naira. That's the amount you have to show in your account while submitting your application. ylinklsope: |
