I dont get it.. whats this fixation abt the embassy sendin you a mail to fund ur own account ( a requirement u ought to fulfil before the interview)....if you ve ur account details, fund ur account and send them the confirmation. You dont need a mail reminding you to do that.

Bro you are right.. It's indicative.. But when people start throwing lame arguments all because a school is few 10s or 50s steps higher than another because of a controversial ranking just irritates..

For example no german school has ever entered top 20 not even 30.. Will one now say all those top 30 schools are better than the top 10 German schools that the rankings arrange ??

Those rankings breed lame arguments.. So I really don't take them that seriously.. Though they can be indicative..

I'm with you on this. I actually stated in the beginning that we once had this argument and didn't turn out really well. I also mentioned that the ranking I meant wasn't an overall but based on subject fields. More so, grades are what matters mostly.

Ekeson, u re my brother and also a friend but I must tell you openly to refrain from all this ur ranking dis and ranking that because it's your recent post about ranking that brought about the arguments. We have treated dis matter long ago. So it will be in-appropriate for you or any other person(s) to re-surface the matter.

I can recall that same thing happened last year when you tried to compare Rhine waal with Uni lag.

I am not d type that talk much or brag. Infact, my school hosts one of the best solid state research in germany and also among d top best universities in world for material science and engineering.

Since I'm still mad at DB for not replying my mails after all my patience, I think I have the right to throw out 'childish' but honest questions or facts.
It's like this:
Somebody commented that Germans don't care about rankings...here is a counter fact..
Do you know that DAAD, (yes, our very own DAAD) and CHE spends millions of euros yearly carrying out their ranking? So if it doesn't matter, why will this very important academic body in Germany waste resources to carry out an evaluation. Mind you, these indices includes majorly, employability, and quality of teaching, research, etc. so if these don't matter to you in your choice of school, what could possibly be? (well, I know for Nigerians, it's how good the city is for hustle, but unfortunately e no dey there)
Secondly, this is a question for those who argue that it doesn't matter, let me ask this honest question, then when you are truthful with yourself, you can then counter my argument.

If you were presented with EXACT SAME COURSE in two schools, and one ranks significantly higher in all indices in both the course and school and we assume, THE 'LEVEL Of HUSTLE' in the location of the schools are held constant, frankly and truthfully tell me you would go for the one with a significantly lower rank.
Let's be frank honestly.

I understand that we should endeavor to do well no matter where we find ourselves, which I agree with 100% but you see, a first class in Harvard and one in Kwara state University will not be categorised as same even if they both have first class.

And here is a general observation I have made, people in lower ranked schools tend to shrug it off as baseless, it's just a psychological compensation, if you know what I mean.
