Anyone telling you that you can get a lecturing job with your 2.2 is just deceiving you. If your GPA does not reach a certain requirement, you would not able to do your Msc directly sef. You may be required to go through the PgD route. I suggest you apply for your masters first, get a very high CGPA, then you MAY be considered. If not, go all the way to PhD and you would never be rejected.

The best you can have is graduate assistant, and that's only if masters is ongoing.

A lot of institutions now even require that you have started PhD in order to be considered as an assistant lecturer, but I feel they can reach a compromise if you have a master with PhD grade.

You don't have to be a government worker before you survive. Thre are so many people out there who graduated with 2.2 living in better condition more than those who graduated with first class. All you need to do is settle down and look forward on what you think can add value to your life.

You lie No matter no matter how connected you are you will never get a lecturing job with pass you can only get employed in d you university no body will allow you to teach, what are you even saying? @ op the ones before me have said it all all you need is a masters and if you are lucky to get one with bsc they will automatically enroll you for masters and during that time you will be a lecturer asistant, you will be marking script and conducting test invigilation and assignment marking but you will not teach untill you have your masters degree, am presently doing my master in Uniben and I made a 2:2 in my bsc so most university still take 2:2 less than 3.0 gp cause my 2:2 was not up to 3.0 gpa thanks best of luck.

start by doing a PGD , proceed to do a Masters in your discipline. .
with your masters, you could find a less competitive institution to start your lecturing career and take it up from there. If u turn out to be really good, your work will speak for you.

Well, I'm from the school of thought that believes that anything is possible, not only because I believe but I've seen it materialize. I've seen someone with lower credit that lectures and I 've a very good friend who bagged a 3rd class in school but now team leads a department in an IT firm. I know some of you will say it has to be with connection, but to be sincere, the two examples I mentioned bagged those position without connection but with what they have to offer.

If left to me the minimum qualification for lecturing should be a 2:1 plus a masters degree.

with 2.2/ U nid to apply for PGD and then masters. Then you will secure a lecturing Job. Its gud if u lecture in a polytechnic.cos u will make lotz of money pending the time u secure a lecturing job in a university.

Pgd for what? A 2.2 graduate from a university can go for his masters as long as his cpga is above 3.0

Op what you are looking for is not a lecturing job but graduate assistant. Most schools retain students with first class or strong 2.1 for that post. it becoming increasingly difficult to get a lecturing job even with masters and 2.2, some schools will tell you they can only consider you if you have a PhD added to your degree.
My advice to you is to go ahead with your master if you can get a sponsor.

Yes with ur 2.2 (that is if u bought it TOKUNBO), u can travel as far as 3km/m into ur lecturing career provded u get ; number plate(Verifiable cert) alloy rim(MASTER made) and also dvd player (competent-course-divulging skill) Hoot when u get there

Then what happens to my innocent and young cousin who was frustrated in 400L and eventually finished with a strong 2.2 of 3.45 CGPA in a Federal Uni.

And she has gone for her masters also in a Federal Uni and her external examiner told her she will be doing the world a disservice if she does not impart her knowledge to others via lecturing (she got a distinction).

In Nigeria, the truth is not everyone who had a 2.2 or even 3rd class is a dullard. It is sometimes a result of bad choices or even lecturer frustration.

I'm very sorry to say this, you don't know enough to INCULCATE. This has nothing to do with CGPA. It not all about getting the position with or without a 2.2. Most people parading themselves as lecturers don't know enough, they even got the job with worse grades. I stand to be corrected! Now, listen to yourself, with just a bachelor's, and most probably, no relevant work experience, you want to teach, TEACH WHAT my brother?!!! Anyway, the educational system is already in topsy-turvy.
