The appointment of Senator Ita Enang as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate) and the dragging of the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, to the Code of Conduct Tribunal are two events in quick succession that leave no one in doubt that President Mohammadu Buhari may have declared total war on the Senate and its leadership. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/09/the-senate-and-buharis-body-language/ 14 Likes 1 Share

It will be political suicide for a democratically elected president to anger the senate or its leaders.... 30 Likes 2 Shares |

joeprince23:it would rather be a political sucide for the senate or senator who offend pmb, the senate constitute majority of northerns and yorubas. Its political sucide when a northern is percieved to be against pmb to their people. Youruba are with him 38 Likes 1 Share |

@OP the chances of impeaching an incumbent President in Nigeria is in the negative. The requirement is too much that even if ALL Senators agrees, it still won't work. 18 Likes 2 Shares |

joeprince23:You don't know what you are saying, if you do you won't be comparing the powers of a seating president with that of a senate president. Saraki is on his own in this scenario. PDP senators will not want to associate with him cuz they know they are all corrupt. APC senators on the other side will be with the party and on buhari's side.. You think the abokey senators will support saraki instead of buhari who was the number1 factor that helped them in becoming senators/reps? Abi na my Yoruba people for senate go support saraki over buhari? Anyway I don't see saraki being impeached anytime soon but this little drilling will serve him as a lesson, Nigeria is not kwara state were he can do whatever he wants. I don't even see buhari's hand in this saraki saga, if buhari really want to deal with saraki, trust me he won't use the CCB rather he will use his attorney general. My friend nobody can fight with the FG, if you try to do that, then expect bruises and injuries from the punch of the federal might.......... 36 Likes 1 Share |

sandraokosun:This is what I have been saying! We all saw the reaction of the northern senators in Saraki's group when they were accused of working against PMB, most of them were swearing and causing on the floor of the house that they would never do that. Go against pmb here in the north and u are finished, even ur family go run leave here. Maybe only Igbo senators would carryout the impeachment. 21 Likes |

Some political neophytes just don't get it- the Nigerian constitution is fashioned in such a manner it is practically impossible to remove a sitting president through a legislative action. Ask Robert Clerk. Besides, who are the Senators that would sign up for the impeachment process- the legislators from the North?? Are you kidding me?? Those guys wouldn't dare, just as much as the South Southern legislators wouldn't have supported a move to impeach Jonathan, and without their support, where would the Senate get the numbers to even begin the process knowing the Northerners constitute the majority of the occupants of the green and red chambers? Make una dey use una heads abeg. 15 Likes |

U guys don't seem to understand that buharis mandate is that of the masses and not a fragment (senators). Let them even try to contemplate an impeachment to our mandate and see what becomes of them from Nigerians. 14 Likes 1 Share |

In a government decoded only by its body language, therefore, it is, therefore, not hard to draw serious correlations between the charges against Senator Saraki and the desperate moves to denigrate, undermine, and possibly overthrow the Senate leadership by hook or crook. |
