OrlandoOwoh: If you wanna be Democratic then u must obey the rules. in democracy, there is right to fair hearing and also due process, if you can't contend with that then I don't know what you will do. All Democratic nations of advanced standard follows this pattern, we cannot act barbaric and give individuals absolute powers, it is not about Saraki alone but tomorrow it could be you involved. Everyone deserves the right to fair hearing and fair judgement. It is about stating your case and bringing your proof. Today it is saraki, tomorrow it could be an innocent mother who is being intimidated by a wealthy man, we need to follow due process no matter how hungry we are to seeing Justice. |

chukwudi44: Before Bode George could reverse his coviction, he had served out his term. CCT proceedings are more or less very brief. before Saraki reaches the step of Court of Appeal, CCT will have made its pronouncement. It maybe or not be in his favour. Truth is, even the CJN cannot call the bluff of a magistrate court once police is ready to execute its judgment no matter the error. only a court can set the error aside. The most effective way to challenge the power of a court is through the court itself. which you must do respectfully. |

gbaskipro:Power, in every democracy, lies with the people. What kind of democracy is it whose judiciary would give an injunction on a case like that of Saraki in less than two days while that of the ordinary man lingers for years while he remains in detention? |

all this playing out have been anticipated by those pushing d saraki case if truely there are people behind d scene. those advising saraki made a great moral mistake by approaching d federal high court and creating wat looks like witch hunt. if d senate under saraki can call for d power sector probe since 1999 and people are appearing without going to court or crying witch hunting why then will he say his own is. we forget dat d buhari govt maybe slow but has a clear mission to make people know dat its no longer bussiness as usual irrespective of pdp or apc. no matter d aguements for or against, d question we should ask saraki is did he actually do wat he is being accused of? and no matter d time I don't tink it will b long b4 we all will know. |

5starmilitant:Your wish though, but it can't happen. Saraki, Dino, Goje, Yerima's head can never lead to the fall of APC. The silence from Northern Senators supporting Saraki is for them not to incur the wrath of their constituency, since after some media house alleged that some senators from the North are working against PMB most of them ve been battling to get back the love of their people. I equally no that though Saraki is seen as the new face of Pdp and her supporters they will easily abandon ship with Saraki on it when the time is right. Remember he is a traitor |

olatunji21: David Mark -- Also being investigated for money laundering, as Lamorde ain't about to go down without a fight Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD), me like Saturday Sun gathered that the probe of the former number three citizen started soon after President Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in on May 29. A reliable source within the anti-graft agency disclosed that the investigation borders “on a huge inflow into a bank account linked to Senator Mark, which was immediately flagged as suspicious transaction.” A source close to Senator Mark however told Saturday Sun that the embattled EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde launched the investigation to blackmail the former Senate President “for failing to speak against a public hearing being conducted by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions over allegations that Lamorde misappropriated billions of naira and properties recovered from former IGP, Tafa Balogun and ex-governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, among others. Aufbauh:Same was my argument the Executive is just too powerful to challenge in a fight even in the world's most advanced democracies. It would be an over simplification of the federal might and issues against Saraki for anyone to believe he's going to get away with this. I for one believe Saraki can only get away with this if they decide to forgive him else hiring all the SANS in Nigeria can't save him. More so I believe they are just trying to be as democratic as possible else Saraki by now would have been a forgone issue. Haven't heard from Dino Melaye or the new PDP spokesperson Fayose, pays to be wise. Something tells me Ekitigate would soon resurface |

All these people gloating over an illegal and obviously politically inspired warrant to arrest the Senate President don't really understand the technicalities of the law. The CCT itself is sitting in contravention to a subsisting rule from a higher court of law, the federal high court that has told all parties to appear before it on Monday to discuss the legality of what the CCT is doing. I have always maintained that the manner and way this new government came into power with propaganda and lies and the kind of people associated with the assent of the former opposition party to leadership, it will be very difficult for this government to be fair and sincere in its so-called fight against corruption. All we see lately is the same style of fighting corruption that Nigerians have become too familiar with, use the likes of EFCC, CCB and ICPC to either humiliate, humble or put a perceived stubborn colleague, political opponents and the likes in line..... It is not about any genuine fight against corruption, it is all dirty fight to intimidate, embarrassed and ultimately heat up the system and distract Nigerians with non-issues..... It's past 100 days and this month is about to wind up yet baba has shown no clear cut sign of what exactly he is doing. Fighting corruption (whatever that means these days ) seems to be the only preoccupation and thing Buhari and his handlers tell Nigerians his government is doing, every other thing will have to stand still till baba fights corruption to coma on the pages of newspapers and social media..... Meanwhile, Baba does not believe in getting Ministers to form his cabinet to help him fashion out his policy direction, according to the all knowing Baba, they are Noise makers who leave the bulk of the job to their subordinate permanent secretaries... So much for experience..... Every time Baba talks he reminds me of his school certificate saga..... I can't believe this guy was once a minister himself.... |

rhymz:Nigeria is a comedy island indeed. Now your statement is equally propaganda because it clearly shows you hatred for PMB/APC. Try to be objective in your criticism because you are indirectly saying Saraki is been witch hunted while you are been biased against PMB on the other side. For me personally I think certificate saga is meant for those who are hell bent on finding faults with PMB else there are so many things disproving that it was forged but that is for people that are ready to accept the bitter truth anyway 3 Likes |

There is already a ruling from a federal high court that that has told both parties to hold on until they both appear in court on Monday to clarify if the CCT should go ahead or not. Why is the CCT in a rush to begin prosecution and disobeying an order from a higher court..... You don't fight illegality with illegality, that's why the likes of EFCC end up not achieving anything with all their initial noise making once they accuse somebody. Saraki did the right thing, as much as he has a case to answer, he also has a right to fair hearing and to demand that it is properly done, I don't believe in sensationalism that won't yield any results. Again, anyone that thinks the police will go ahead and arrest Saraki is yet to know how the legal system works. Saraki has smart lawyers that will make sure nothing like that happens, he already has the law by his side not the media....our enforcement agencies need to start smarting up and stop being toothless barking dogs. |

gbaskipro:China did actually, they arrested corrupt politicians and even went after corrupt former politicians who held office in some cases over 15 years ago. Some where jailed for life why some got lengthy sentences, today China is better off for that brave move to fight corruption. Corruption is what kills the development of any nation, corruption is the main reason Most part of Africa expecially Nigeria (a country so blessed) is where it is today. I support this war on corruption whether selective or not, hopefully the war would will go round with time. We have to start from somewhere at least 1 Like |

Thank God the law does not work on the whims and caprice of the angry loonies here who only want to engage in selective justice..... Again illegality can not cancel illegality.... Saraki is a smart politician. |

Let them fight and let the guilty be punished. I do not care whether it is witchhunt or not. The question is if he is guilty as charged or not. As long as they are united in their theivery, Nigerians lose. We know all of them have issues, but as long as they unite and cover up for one another, we the common citizens lose. God will continue to throw confusion in the camps of our enemies and cause them to turn on themselves. At the end, we good people of Nigerians will be left standing. Who could have thought it would be Saraki's turn today after many years of impunity and coverups? Same lesson should be learned by those in control now, that their works will find them out, sooner or later so they should be careful to use their power for the good of the people. God is working in Nigeria, and He can use anyone and any system to accomplish His plan - both the godly and the ungodly. All we need to do is continue to watch and pray, then see the enemies of this nation turn their swords on themselves in what someone earlier called Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD). God is however merciful, but only towards those who will repent and humble themselves. His patience and longsuffering should not be interpreted as weakness, in the fullness of time when their cups are full, He will come with judgement. The mills of God it is said, grind slowly, but how exceedingly it does! 1 Like |

rhymz: Guy forget those CCT and high court drama, the guys behind Saraki's travail have surely planned for that. I believe this stunt is to weaken him politically, then attack through the senate by impeachment . You can see his die hard supporters are unusually silent. Saraki fell into the trap big time by getting that court injunction. I am seriously anticipating the next move by either party,i am learning some beautiful strategies here. 1 Like |
