as in, i don abandon my remain 1k for them, i no do again. the bank over useless. i remember days of Oceanic Bank. i miss those days.

Some months ago I went to that Useless Eco bank to deposit cash,,I was on the qui for like 1hr,,,while on the qui an elderly family friend of mine came in,,,So I collected his cash, filled his Teller and asked him to go sit while I wait on the qui.................

On getting to the "Teller",,,,I 1st paid in my money,,,,,,he processed that,,,,,,,Then I gave him the other cash that belongs to my family friend.........the "teller" guy refused to collect it o,,he told me to return it to the owner that why should I be paying for someone else,,,,,,,,,,,,"na so one bolt loose 4my head o"......I simply told him that he was gona post the money......"He said he won't"...................I was soo maaaaad...........................I just stayed there and kept shouting "Whose in charge of Operations in this bank,,and that I want to see the manager,,,that the manager should kom and meet me where I am standing"...............................Naso everybody for qui begin dey shout o,,,dey course d bank workers.....lol..................

I have abandon my EcoBank account since laat years, I told all my customers and friends not to ever deposit even a kobo into my Ecobank account. The bank is as useless as sanitary PAD.

Yesterday when I created this topic, I was just too mad to explain.
My friend is stranded in South Africa right now because of ECOBANK. He might lose his job today and risked being jailed by his boss or sent back. He used office money for personal business because he have money in his personal account with ECOBANK. But right now, his card is barred and for two weeks now, we have not been able to sort it out. Today is the official account day! What does he tell the boss?

He has sent mails, called their useless customer care severally, all to no avail. In fact, one of them asked him to come back, go to his branch to solve his problem, others kept saying "we are working on it" for more than a week.

I was even calling from here too. Visited his branch and another branch explaining that they contact him, still nothing!

He has more than a million in the account but can't access a dime to replace the money he used.

The worse thing that has happened to me in this bank was when I went to virtually all its branches in Port Harcourt because of network failure. From Ikoku Junction to AP Filling Station in Olusegun Obasanjo Road to GRA Junction to Garrison.

Hi all, last week; i had an horrible encounter with a disrespectful female staff of Ecobank; located @ under-Bridge, ikeja _ i left the bank angry; and thereafter, i came across this Ecobank Ombudsman contact, through a trend on Narialand; i called and report my ordeal wit bank staff; but interestingly; the Manager of the branch personally call me and apologies; and re-address my ATM issue. I advice all ECOBANK user to keep; ECOBANK-Ombudsman - 01-2260450 and channel all your ordeals to them. my name is Victoria Chenedu, sales rep @computer village, Ikeja.

Seems this bank has a lot of work to do. I have read more than a few negative stories about them in recent times.

People should stop using ECO bank and WEMA bank,,they are both useless banks

I think their Ombudsman might be needful. The only time their customer service was acceptable to me was when I was opening my account with them. Ever since then, I dread going into the bank. The customer service is just too poor for my liking.

Whalai...ecobank ombudsman na correct...i ve call and dey help clear my online transaction qualms; and Alhaji Bala has received his money; i waiting for my rams...

Customer service is not about the bank sha. It all boils down to the particular person who attends to you. The op did not share any experience though.

It's happening right now in Nigeria but the customer is in South Africa, not even happened! The matter is still not resolved.

Just tried the number u posted, not going through. 24-7 my foot!

I can see Ecobank paid posters above trying to defend the useless bank. Una well done.

We have spoken with several of the customer care personnel. I can give names: Abiola, Tobe etc
At first we weren't taking note of names but I still remember those two names.

Ecobank is a curse. I still wonder why I remain their customer.
Last year, I recharged my phone for a N3000 MTN credit through Quickteller. Like magic, 6 alerts of 3k each came. I checked my phone balance I saw only 3k. Meanwhile, bank balance has gone down by 18k. I called Quickteller and was told to send a mail. Later, Quickteller send me mails of their correspondence with the bank, which promised to look into the issue. Till now, no show from them.
On July 8th, I did bank transfers to my professional association and two sibs thus 80k, 20k, 10k. I got alerts, same day, that the transactions were unsuccessful. I had to make the deposits into the individual accounts the next day. To my dismay, Ecobank sent me alerts around 3.30pm that my transactions have gone through, 24hrs after the initial transactions . My account balance confirmed this. However, the supposed beneficiaries said they received only one alert each. Further enquiry showed the alerts were from my second transactions. Up till now, the staff that did the transfer is still insisting that the transactions were successful. She told me to go and obtain the bank statements of the recipients to prove that the transfers failed. This involves my going to Lagos, Enugu and Asaba.
My total loss is N125,000. Outrageous charges not inclusive.

Lol. We know na.
I thread carefully when transferring to that bank, and I never repeat any, so long as they debit me. I also only do cash transactions with my Ecobank account, no internet, no ATM.
