Hello mums and dads in the house. I ve been a silent reader since July 2015 and have gained much insights through all your contributions even though I already made all of my travel arrangements before finding out about nairaland. I'm a Dec mum, came into Houston a bit early (sept 3rd) and poe experience was terrible. I was kept for about 3 hours and was grilled like a chicken. They kept asking same questions over and over again. I couldn't understand it, they weren't even aware I was pregnant, I declared it, also declared my $3k dollar cash, Mastercard, hubby's statement of account, doctor s correspondence, email to and from embassy on change of intent, a budget sheet, etc yet the guy said his supervisor is not convinced and thinking of sending me back. He went through my phones and tablet, searched through my bag and purse, read every piece of paper in my purse. I was baffled, sat there wondering what he was looking for but I remained unruffled. After a while I told him that if I haven't convinced him with all I ve said or showed him then he should do whatever he feels is right. At this point he took my boarding pass and told me to go sit and wait outside that he has decided he was going to get my luggage. I sat outside and was already telling myself welcome back to naija. I got up went into the restroom, said a few words of prayers and came back out. After a while the guy returned and called me in. Gave me my phones and my documents back and said to ensure all bills paid and keep all receipts too and said I'm free to go. I left there with my feet wobbly from anxiety, hunger and tiredness. What an experience! Meanwhile I had my 2nd visit with Dr Fagbohun yesterday. He's a great guy. Put my mind at rest about some of my concerns. Apparently he's aware of activities on nairaland and said he gives his best to all of his patients but most of us come in with our opinion and don't listen to advise. Said truly he's busy but most don't come in with questions for him and when u have no questions there's not much he can tell u other than the basics. He advised that patients shld come in with written questions and he's always ready to answer and guide. He spent quite some time with me. I ll definitely return here to give my delivery experience. Thanks all. Sorry for the long post. 20 Likes |

Aww sorry ! I've had similar experience with them dubai popo in d past! Flew qatar airways n got into dubai midnight and was walking out jejely as they stopped n cornered me into a room for secondary inspection unfortunately for me I had food sting for my family friend n d asked me to call the guy to come , I refused coz I didn't knw if the guy had stay n feigned I didn't have his contact but he knws d hotel I always stay n will come get his food stuff. Na so them Comot my top n made me climb one scanner that took me from one need of the machine to d other. I spent like 4 hrs there n our naijas that were on d plane didn't leave d airport I guess they were waiting to be d first to report d incident to Linda ikeji. Finally d discharged me n I told them to keep d food stuff or thrash them na so they begin laugh n asked me to take my things! I've never been so scared in my life, d took my phones n my money as this was going on cod I was wailing,. Now onto dem dubai vigilante. ... See me after I quietly sorted mysef out with Emirates n passed thru immigration n further through the regular security check points at the terminal. I was enjoying music on my phone n gently strolling to the arrival exit to join my hotel pick up naim one over sabi airport sic l security on mufty cornered me just by the exit door to pls come with him. . So we entered one room and he asks me to step in for machine scan wch I did no qualms. Only for me to step down after the scan and the guy look me finish told me I had .....wait for it. ....... DRUGS in my stomach. I'm like wah! Please check again I said. ..wch he did and started telling me too come clean so he can mk things easy for me. . Lucky for me I'm a light eater n didn't go out or got drunk were I passed out such that someone must have James Bond me into stuff shii in my guts unknown to me. .. I aid please if must know, I have not had anything solid 24 hrs before now aside from the in-flight meal so if there's anything in there I must have picked it from Emirates meal. ... He calls a supv n they give me plenty water to drink. .I told them to kindly call a doctor to perform whatever tests is legally required. . In my mind I just said, see these guys. ..una go jejely do una test n wen una finish me I go quietly call lawyer n y'all gonna pay well done you got moni to burn. After some couple of re scans the supv said. .sorry you are gud to go. . I said u sure, he says yes n I quietly picked my stuff just as I was leaving I saw them bringing in more 4 naija dudes in. .. You can imagine how much our young men have tarnished our image so much that even dubai weh dey beg people to come n spend moni are now profiling is big time. .. Pitiful I must say. . Bottom line is wherever you are going to and no matter how smooth allot of people ve had an easy passage please please and please guard yourself up and have your story str8. Very soon Ghana n Togo ll begin to repatriate our citizens. .. So that's me dropping my tori.. Now I'm chilling in dallas with ma team n romancing d bump for baby to come into the world. .... nefertitiram: I laughed so hard after reading the gibberish! Triplets ko! How convenient! Any triplets mum who goes there , does that at your own risk. Remember to come share your experience and the bills you incurred from the hospital they would have sent you to because the man has no business delivering triplets and above babies. Don't let anyone deceive you. 3 Likes |

If it is who I'm thinking of then it is unfair to try n play down on her " truth"! I wish she can let me post the pics of her triplets here or go to her Fb n see for urself! neks31: My dearest sister, it is not trouble making but warning other unsuspecting mums who might fall victims. It's because it didn't happen to you or anyone close to you. It has happened to someone close to me and it is very horrific. I will beg her to come share her experience. It was very sad to say the least but I thank God it ended in praise for her. I still maintain that the man and the hospital Are not equipped for higher order risk deliveries! Why cross all the oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, streams from Nigeria to the United States with a higher risk pregnancy to end up with such a facility or get exposed to such a nasty experience? Is it really worth it? And who says that 36 weeks of multiple pregnancy guarantees one of evading the NICU route? Let us properly guide one another here. Let us tell one another the truth and save someone from making a mistake she will regret later on. Note: I am not saying he is not a good doctor . My take is that he is not equipped for higher risk order pregnancy deliveries , neither is Oakbend! @Olokings, God pass them jare. Regards to your wife. 4 Likes |

Hahaha. .I never thought of it via that perspective. .hmm..... As per the later I deliberately didn't say much buh I trust I tickled the thought process of allot. Funny how the poster joined NL less than 2 hrs n the first, one and only post is the bomb. Then I wanted to waka pass on the condition that the poster responded to the quote where someone requested for further details but he/she didn't. That simply gave them off n affirmed my suspicion. Yet I tried to downplay it by just dropping a pebble on the water rather than a full out tsunami . I got no beef whatsoever buh my line of thought is its better the ladies (and dudes) take decisions with adequate info on the fine prints n not have to play R-Kelly "I wish" remix afterwards. It's not a matter of good / bad, buh rather is just a master of sharing info to know whose the goose n who's d gander so that we know what's best for each if u get my gist. How's yo precious doing. ..? modath: |

Yes o, sayoberry. I had to come back so that others will not fall prey. I was really hurt at first and that's why I kept away from naira land, but now that the dust has settled, I guess I will be visiting here more frequently. I didn't even want to say this because I may be giving away my identity but what the heck? For Dr f to behave in such a a manner to a fellow colleague speaks volumes. Anyway, he will meet his waterloo one day. 12 Likes |
