....so the Enugu to Kwale trip happened ...using your suggestion Mr Spyder88...
thanks for that suggestion....cos any other means would have been suicidal

And now I become very serious...more than I have ever been here (not that I have been anything less than though)
When I was crossing the bridge and saw "Ndigbo/Igbo, gaa n"iru" signs...I could not stop a tear from dropping....or two...or more lipsrsealed

I was that way because the federal strip of land from Enugu to Onitsha is a pure horror...
I remember in my uni days....my cousin would come to EN from Onitsha, twice in a day with a lot of hours to spare...I am serious
It took us two hours to get to Onitsha...and I got a clean up pass...so the roads were free
It took two hours to get to Onitsha from Enugu with the roads all free shocked angry.
the roads are soooo bad....before 9th Mile and around the NYSC region in Anambra are particularly bad
Kedu ka ndi bus na other transport si zi e make zi ego ha?
Kedu ka ha si azu umu?
Kedu ka mmadu ga esi gbaa from Anambra, past Enugu to Abia/Imo/Rivers for business?
From PH through Enugu to Onitsha would take all day...and this should not be so

Please can someone tell me that the federal government has never provided money for these roads....bikonu
This is the pressing issue to tackle ooo, not the state of Nsukka, Enugu, Awka, etc
We cannot make any progress if the roads are like that....money and lives at waste here people...from accidents and lurking marauders who can be from anywhere lipsrsealed

I wish the governors read these pieces on NL
If they, and Igbo senators know what ids good for Ndigbo, they should fix these roads themselves as an emergency
Can it be done ndi be ayi?
I do not know how things work....
Must we wait for the federal government?
What if it is not done?

The state of these roads is the greatest hindrance to economic and indeed any development ayi ga a achieve
It is not even the sea ports and water ways argued about here
You guys made me think everything was all right

I am wailing and crying as I say....please can we form a way to make Igbo politicians take up the task of fixing these roads? It is a disgrace and a big blow
It has been many years since I got as far west as the Niger bridge by road
The road is very very bad and appalling cry

It has crushed my hopes and expectations
All the fine streets, and other development discussed on here take a back seat...
I now know why Igbos wont come and invest here...there are simply no roads here...NONE!!!

Can someone please explain to me why the roads are like this?
Whose fault is it?
Why have you guys been discussing airports, water ways, street and urban and rural development when these express roads are like this? shocked
Is there anything I am missing?
I cried...truly cried....the hopelessness I felt yesterday is what I never wish on anyone...
Coming into Onitsha on my way back and seeing that statue of Ikemba was the last straw
I cried helplessly

I don't know what my post is about...but please someone talk to me....

I can answer questions if this is not clear
I will not apologise for this long post

Greater Awgu are the marginalised group of people in Enugu, we had issues with Okwy Nwodo cos we voted our son Gbazuagu Nweke, Nwodo caused a lot of havoc to us, the only governor that has ruled Enugu that touched our lives is Jim Nwobodo, Chimaroke did not, sullivan plotted against our son Barr Ike Ekweremadu and our son revolted like a wounded lion,if not he would have being a gonner, the light we have today is as result of community effort ranging from Ituku, Agbogwugwu, Ihe,Ogbaku, Nenwe,Mgbowo and Agwu etc
Digitron:
is greater awgu another senatorial zone ?
we are part of Enugu west but we the Awgu people are being sidelined by Udi and Ezeagu.

Nigeria failed to utilise the oil boom of 2006 to 2013 well. 90% of federal roads in Southeast and South south are impassable. During Jonathan's term Igbos were mesmerised with ordinary appointment instead of infrastructural presence. Buhari should give us infrastructure and leave appointment that enriches individuals.

I am ashamed, truly...
That people actually think the Biafran agitation is a power bargaining tool is heart breaking cry

This country was formed as a result of peoples' lipsrsealed greed and self interest...and not because we should be one country
the foundation is flawed.....
Biafra frankly should not even be the only country people are clamouring for

2019...the miracle year when the people who are just not the same people will massively vote in an Igbo president, ehn?
Despite all the differences...then we will all live happily ever after as one people
Laughable...really...if it were not tragically impossible

Seriously, the Biafran agitation is not a political tool for Ohaneze and co to use to bargain about power and all angry
It is a nation's soul seeking to be free....
It has to happen, yesterday, today, tomorrow, sooner...or later....

The day igbos become forceful in pushing collective needs, that's the day we will move forward.

An average igbo man is selfish and self-centred. He only thinks about himself depending on who he is dealing with.

Igboman thinks about himself alone when it comes to what will benefit his family members.

Igboman thinks of his family when it comes to what will benefit the community.

Igboman thinks of his local government when it comes to things that will benefit the whole state.

Igboman thinks of his state when it comes to things that will benefit the region.

Igboman thinks of his tribe when it comes to things that will benefit the country.

Igbo man is greedy, but the rate of greed expands as what to be benefited increases.

We need not look at our state of origin alone. We need to look at the whole igboland. Igboland needs to look at what will benefit the 40million+ igbo people in this world. Because, soon and very soon, we don't want to see what will make us cry.

We ruined our chances by not coming out in our numbers to massively vote for Goodluck Jonathan who really meant well for Igboland and could have constructed those roads.
But here is what I think we should do,let us allow North to complete their 8yrs to make igbo presidency easier and possible. 2019 we should all encourage every igbo person to come enmass and sweep out the brainless old tribalist from power.
Not every one is a tribalist or islamist. There are many detribalised popular Northern politicians who we can trust and work with 2019.
Atleast many Northerners,Southwesters and Middlebelters are beginning to realise that Buhari is a con artist who is not worth dying for ( "not worth dying for" is good for opposition party in 2019.).

Meanwhile Biafra agitators must continue their good work. Nigeria unity isn't sustainable. What we see happening in Syria and Iraq can actually happen in Nigeria on a bigger scale. Biafans could end up being the most prepared if something like that happens here and Every southern tribe would likely want to join the most prepared breakaway countries like Biafra

Exactly.

Biafran independence from Nigeria is the ONLY panacea to a peaceful prosperous Nigeria.

it is something that must happen. it has nothing to do with politics.

If yorubas were not such uselessly hideous people, they know in their minds that Nigeria is an unworkable state. But their undermining nature of pretence wouldn't allow them speak the truth.

why didn't GEJ construct that road through out his 6 yr tenure. the Igbo were the greatest looser in the last dispensation. Even though we had very prominent easterners in key position, we achieved little in term of infrastructure and that is why am not among those who are shouting that no easterner is in buhari govt because I didn't feel their effect in the last dispensation.

You are correct but with the way Nigeria is structured, it will be very hard to correct, therefore we must fight hard to remain relevant and competitive even without the FG.
if a small Jigawa and Keebi states could build international airport within 8 yrs, why can't Enugu and Anambra collaborate and reconstruct Enugu Onitsha road and then ask the FG to repay them.

How our vibrant and intelligent folks gave Goodluck their blind support after 5 years of total neglect is still a mystery to some of us.

Who is our "leader" these days (pls don't even mention Nnamdi because he is setting Ndigbo up to be hated and ostracized)? Who is pulling the strings in Abuja for Ndigbo? We just need to be ourselves.

Nigeria is set to implode. A nation cannot "cut off its nose to spite its face" forever.

I live in Lagos, Lagos is full, almost choking from congestion. If they like, let them refuse to locate federal infrastructure elsewhere.

If you had read what I wrote earlier, you will see where I praised Jim and where I condemned okwy nwodo maka oku ndi Awgu o wepuru in early 90s due selfishness that we gave a block vote to our late son Gbazua Agu Nweke, as a result of his action, vandal now carted the whole transformers and wires, the light we have today because of community effort, succeeding governors failed to make impact in Awgu, as for your baseless claim about Ikeoha concerning enugu-onicha express way, I see your comment about him as a result of ignorance. Update yourself bro with happenings about legislation, lastly my desire is for the present government is to do well and carry all the constituents along
Since you claim I'm ignorant,.....I would love to get your highly rated happenings about legislation that has reached the length and breadth of Enugu.

We just need to be ourselves.

Nigeria is set to implode. A nation cannot "cut off its nose to spite its face" forever.

I live in Lagos, Lagos is full, almost choking from congestion. If they like, let them refuse to locate federal infrastructure elsewhere.
I hear apapa port is gridlocked now

Igbo Kwenu! Igbo Kwenu!! Igbo Kwezuenu oooooo!!!

I have been saying it and I will keep on saying it. Let's build seaport in the east. It is very important we understand the happenings of our country before we make decisions. The igbo tribe is blessed with men and women capable of being self-reliant but we love to throw away every opportunity of doing just that. Like someone said, Apapa is a gridlock. If you haven't been to Apapa/wharf you won't understand what these guys are saying. It is locked!

But I think Lagosians are sharper than we the igbos. Lagos wants to build new seaport in Badagry and maybe lekki too. That means more money for the already congested state. Lagos has also opened new sites in Ibeju-lekki. Don't be surprised, that will be your lekki phase 3. What are igbos doing about it? Still lurking around and waiting for other people to do their job.

I know many people will say seaport is not the important thing, oh! Please, our economy is being run on the sea! So, why can't you run your economy on your own sea? The IGR of Lagos state is presently 28billion, like 3/4 of it from who? Igbos! You cannot continue to feed other people and you continue to starve. I still say it anywhere, build a seaport and see the east develop like a mad man. People will say Rivers, Calabar and Delta state has seaport. No! They don't! Why? Its either not functioning or they don't have people who can import/export from there.

My people, we have people to export our goods to. We have goods and raw material that we need. We have investors to flirt with. We shouldn't sleep and let other states wake up before we do. We should wake faster than the others. Investors want igbos to do business because if we do business, they'll be rich!

Build a seaport will be very expensive, but the real expensive thing is, not doing anything about it!

Enjoy

Jonathan was a disaster... OBJ was a monster.

We have Ogbonnia Onu, ezigbo nwafor Igbo currently close to the seat of power. Can he provide Tinubu-like leadership...? He is certainly influential with Buhari.

We need to be strategic like chinchi and be wise like mbe nwaaniga.

As for 042, quo vadis gburugburu?

Daalu nu

Lol you guys never cease to amaze me. Can you honestly tell us the true state of things in igboland before GEJ? Why didn't obj or yardua fix airports in igboland or make Enugu airport International? Why didn't they patronize Innoson or didnt Innoson start manufacturing in their time.

I challange you so called igbos to mention just one thing GEJ promised Ndiigbo that he didn't fulfill.
Goodluck patronized IVM,gave Ndiigbo International airport and Riverport,Start the construction of 2nd Niger bridge plus the added rail tracks, encouraged orient petroleum etc yet you ungrateful sadists believe he did nothing.
If you guys continue in this manner we may end up not producing dedicated people or pro igbo like GEJ due to our senseless discouraging attitude toward our own

We CANNOT build seaports in the East. Seaports are on the exclusive list, you cannot build a seaport until the FG gives approval & FG will NEVER give approval for seaports in the South East.

Donald Duke built TINAPA, all that was required for TINAPA to function was dredging of the Calabar Channel, but with a Yoruba man as president (Obasanjo) and a Yoruba man as Nigerian Ports Authority Boss (Dapo Sarumi), it was never going to happen. So TINAPA never worked (while Atiku got Onne to work).

Lagos does not want any port to compete against it and Northerners do not want functional ports near the South East, so we will NEVER have functional ports unless we FIGHT for devolution of power. Without that, we'll simply waste our money and nothing will happen.
