Hi Favouredgal, hope you're doing good? Have you heard from the embassy yet? My visa expires in December before I travel and I'm wondering whether to attend an interview or apply for Medical treatment visa via drop box. I was hoping to avoid travelling to LAG or ABV but with this your experience, it appears to be the best option now. Any advice please? I wanted to use Baptist Hospital in Miami but the rates they quoted is not for small children. Still checking other options in Miami or Orlando. I will share once I get a good deal. Accommodation is very expensive in FL during winter and i'm a winter mama, again. |

@sleem2015 Your attempt to market that hospital and the Dr in the name of 'giving back' is a failed one, try a smarter way next time. 6 Likes |

My thoughts exactly. ... I was gonna ask that buh I rmbr we got some docs in the hux as such I hit d mute button not to sound too fwd. . However diff ob / gyn with diff styles and policy of practice. Madam has been subjected to 2 routine blood tests all within the 3rd trimester to make sure all's well. Further to the above, didn't u tell them ur missy is a vbac candidate? most hospitals n docs outrightly don't do ur yo know. .. Word for all: pls endeavour if you are a vbac candidate (even if it's a vbac^2) to tell ur ob/gyn so they can mk am informed decision. .. not all practice n hospital does this. Up here they need special consideration for that. In dallas for example only a handful of docs (not more than 10 i think) does it n dey need a higher rated hospital plus d docs office a usually housed in the same complex s the clinic I think. ... Sorry abt ur situation though, really try negotiating with them however I know there are some wch state in their quotes that bills subjected to market dispensation are not allowed for negotiation as they have already been discounted. Happy ur baby n wifey ate n both okie that's the most important. favoredgal: |

Hello all, why wld a doc or hospital tell u to activate medicare and some don't suggest or say don't say I told u so? Why do some prefer u pay up from ur home country and with d risks of not paying involved and still don't want u to use medicare? If u don't pay up...is the penalty not being able to have ur visa renewed only? |

Hmmm.... In view of the foregoing, oI'd say this is a more astute response to d case (ignoring the smoke screen). Let's to highlight the later paragraph and move on ahead. .. To every give there's a take, to a Ying there's a yang, plus - minus, yes - no. These makes the balance of life. Noted and kind enough that the gud doc have credence to the complaints of the ma'am regardless of time n circumstance played out. Let's just hope others tk a cue from this and realigned their acts to acknowledge that we naijas don't always like to raise hell in no man's land, we still very well know where the furnace controls are. .. I hereby move for the case to be struck out n discussed no further given his apparent repentance. Watchtower activated though. ... So mommas can fire on (as long as yo singletons though) |

Hehe.. Yay to get yo moni back. Put it out for free u ll see mommas who's willing to come n stay with n kip themselves company.. But putting it out here for peops who's ready to come pay to to live in.... I doubt. Have u ever stayed with ur landlord under one roof?!.... The fight no be here ooh... My advice is allow her enjoy her space, if she's willing to have a friend to stay over (not subletting ooh) then she be kool as there'd be less string n drama attached. mama777:@mama777, please use goggle. When I wanted to go the IVF route, I contacted the Houston IVF hospital, based on a freind's recommendation. That is one option. Note fertility/ IVF clinics are quite expensive in USA and this forum is mainly for people already pregnant going to deliver their babies. You might get better response on this thread https://www.nairaland.com/773873/anyone-trying-ivf-iui-icsi , even though it is Najia based. Personally the % of success for IVF is higher at home than abroad or so I have been told in the past . Hope this helps. . 2 Likes |

olokings:@NLs thanx all for the responses. one take home from your coment will be that I go back and ask for enough time and possibly negotiate. but like oloking mentioned I guess dey claim also that this amount of 1)$1700/day at NICU is discounted. (mchwww). this time around I will ask to speak with the manager as advised. whether madam did gbs test at 3rd trimester I can't tell but will ask. and will aso go down as lessons learned. the take from my story is that someone here will learn from it. thanx guys I will return with feedback 1 Like |

firsttymum: I wanted to use a walmart card during my stay in the us but I was advised that it's not safe cos of fraudulent activities, true or false I dint bother trying it I opened a wells fargo checking account, it has a monthly charge of $10 but if u get to use ur card 10times in a month or u have a minimum of $300 per day, or a monthly balance of $1500, the charges won't apply. I was advised to close the account when leaving to avoid the monthly charge and if I come to the states again, I can always open another one I got a temporary ATM card on the same day, got my permanent card within 10 working days. 1 Like |
