IHate9ja1:You can't really blame people on here saying NO, background do tell on people reactions to things. But what pain most is that pple doesn't read to understand this days, pple read to reply. The op made it clear that in this case, u r extremely rich(its quite affordable) nd am surprised reading post on here saying dey wud prefare buying cheaper phone. When u r rich, the iphone 6 is extremely cheap. Another person sayz no because his parent doesn't brought him up that way. Am sure the father wud av done better if he can afford it in this op case. I think Nigerians should start thinking outside the box. |

Some of the responses in this thread? Have you ever wondered why the rich stay rich i.e Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Dr Dre, Richard Branson etc and the Poor continue to be poor? A gold Iphone that will probably be worth 50% less its value by the time the next release comes out in a year's time? N to the O! Reasons I am all about teaching my kids values in life that will take them further and help them to survive when Mummy and Daddy are no longer around to provide a safety net. Even if I had a 100 billion dollars I would seek to give my kids life lessons and set them up for life by spending my money sending them to the best educational institutions around the globe and other professional training that would put them in good standing among the top in the world. I would teach them the value of hard work, that life was not a bed of roses and that Mummy and Daddy's money did not automatically mean they had money. Mama may have, Papa may have but God bless the child that has his own. An Iphone, a gold one at that would only seek to teach them that they didn't have to work hard to get anything in life. That everything would fall into the lap just because Mummy and Daddy had money. This is the reason why you see many children of former or deceased Governors who were stinking rich back in the day and able to give their kids a slice of heaven on earth now selling pure water in the market reminiscing about when life with Mummy and Daddy was sweet. |

gbenga4my: As much as any responsible parent would want to give their children the best, money is not the only price to pay and should not be the only thing to be considered. The monetary price may be cheap, but is it the only price? Then and in the long run? 1 Like |

lampardizik: This reminds me of a story that was in the papers a few years back in the UK. The Dad was extremely successful with a company which turned over £20 million a year. (6.1 billion Naira) His only son had already passed his driving test and so when he turned 18 he bought him the most expensive Porsche on the market. I think the car was worth around £100k which is about 31 million Naira. The first night the guy went out with the car, he crashed it and was killed instantly. Moral of the story is, Money can't buy good driving skills or make an immature 18 year boy a professional driver of a Porsche..In short money does not buy everything a kid needs to make the right choices in life. |

MrImole:so the day ur kid says " daddy, I want every penny in you account because I need it to take my gf shopping and to throw a party, you can keep some to sustain you and mother but I want the rest now...." I guess you will smile and write him a cheaque?? After all..... You are working for your kids..... Fine.... You are working to give ur kids a comfortable life style but such an expensive fne at age 13? What are you teaching him or her? Even children of the exuberantly wealthy in developed countries do vacation jobs to put Money in their pockets because their parents won't spoil them rotten ..... Nigerians need to know that continuing such trends of "born in royalty with golden tissue sticking out their a55es is bound to ruin the next Generation........ Learn to teach your kids how to manage what they have and don't go spoiling them by giving them every thing they ask for because d day u CNT give them sth they want, you might get a heart attack. |
