IGBOSON1: The fact that after tens of thousands of ibos were slaughtered up north after your '66 follish coup adventure, you exodused back to your villages in the east, then turn around and return to the same north even considering the fact that you are still getting killed means you can not do without them Also simply because iboland is socially and economically depressed and unproductive and generations after generations of ibo young and adults have to migrate to seek their daily bread in the same other parts of Nigeria that you love to hate means Nigeria can do without you while you can not do without Nigeria.. ...so much for your flawed and myopic assertions.. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

kahal29: This is so on point. The PDP is so heartless. Even if they think the plausible way to win the elections in 2019 is to zone it to the North, do they have to announce it so early when a lot of their passionate supporters from the SE and SS are yet to recover from the 2015 defeat. And even at that, why cant they zone the presidency to the SE and then get a popular PDP person from the North as the VP? I know if this happens, the whole of SE will try and register enmass and then come out to vote in heavy numbers. This pair may slightly lose to PMB (if he still contest), but it would have been a good investment, as the pair will be a strong contending force in the 2023 elections. Politics an be an investment atimes. And this will force the APC to also zone their presidency to the SE in 2023 after PMB's 2nd term, peradventure he contests and win 2nd term. Sincerely, I must say PDP has not been fair to the SE despite the massive support they get from this zone. If a fresh Northerner wins the 2019 presidential election, he'll definitely want to do 2 terms, and politics is too complex to say at the end of that 2 terms, every other tribe will willingly give the SE the ticket. Politicians are not that nice. We have a lot of greedy NC & SS politicians that also has their eyes on the number 1 seat and will not give up easily. Saraki and Akpabio comes to mind. 3 Likes |

Yoruba hope of fielding a Yoruba in 2019 has been destroyed by this deft move by PDP. This is a masterstroke as Yoruba calculations have been seriously undermined. Tinubu thought that supporting Buhari will earn him the presidency in due course as northerners will support Yoruba in return. But in actual fact, a northerner will always support yet another northerner, so Yoruba calculatiins have been upturned. Actually, the Yorubas have completely lost out. The more I think of it, this is a wise move by SE/SS-controlled PDP. because whenever APC fields a Yoruba, PDP will field a northerner. My fellow Igbos who are looking at this move by PDP via a short term spectacle, will eventually appreciate the wizardry in this decision. The bottomline is that Yoruba calculations, for which they betrayed a SS president have been utterly destroyed!!!!! 1 Like |

chukwudi44: Sir, it is not as bad as it seems. Even though there is ethnicity, experice under each republic since 1960, clearly suggest that common sense and honour prevalis. 1st Republic- the north won with SE alliance. 2nd Republic- -the north won with SE alliance 3rd Republic -the SW won with North Alliance 4th Republic (a)- the SW won with North Alliance " (b) - the North won with SS Alliance " (c) - SS won with North Alliance. " (d)- North won with SW alliance whatever we feel about this scenario, let us discuss it as if we are Russian politicians (no attachment to anyone that is) the north will do eight years through the alliance of (d) above. Whether both alliance will produce Yoruba and Hausa as President VP respectively depends on many factors because it has never happened before. The closest scenario was VP GEJ who got the sympathy of all Nigerians excluding core north. But GEJ won in a divided north. This is due to honour and commonsense in 2011. Just as PDP honourably gave ticket to GEJ both in 2011 and 2015. APC will give the ticket to South in 2023. we have no exception to this rule yet ( in successive democratic regimes). SE can be like SW of 1999 who produced the Presidential candidates for both parties. SW spoke with one voice to achieve this and spoke with best intentions for the country. They spoke with concern for Muslims and Christians alike and never felt that any group of people were inherently bad. in return the whole country voted for their candidates without fear of retribution. Obsasanjo reciprocated by uniting the country. The question is: how does SE hope to get into presidency that it truly deserves? Hating the incumbent without any history of support for him is a curious strategy. Presidency have never been won only for the reason that North is on top of the ticket. if it is rigging, you cannot out-rig the incumbent unless you are massively popular and you most likely could have won a free and fair election. If it is by popularity, you have to appeal to popular issues. war against corruption, job creation and social justice. You can then do your political permutationon these issues. I may be wrong but protesting against corruption war , insulting other ethnic groups, declaring war on the Nation and hate speeches are not exactly a strategy for popular mobilization. Without exception anywhere in the modern world, you can only win peoples heart through promise of redemption and salvation from their conditions never because it is your right or that you must get it by superficial intrigues of zoning. 2 Likes |

Movic1:If they consistently voted for someone outside of their own over their beloved ones, why do you still turn around and call them tribalist? Shouldn't their patterns of voting, according to your own data marked them as the most ditribalized group in Nigeria where everyone votes their own.? In 2000, Al Gore lost to George W Bush in his home state of Tennessee, does that make them the most confused people in the United State? In 1993, Chief Abiola defeated Dawakin Tofa in his home state of Kano, does that also make Kano people the most confused people of the northern Nigeria? Who among Igbo politician spread and fed people more religious and tribal hate than Fayose? Bigots like you, will always sit down to whip up some tribal trash every day without even knowing their own personal history of their child birth, let alone a country, or may I say the world.Instead of spending meaningless time own nairaland, writing bigoted trash, spend that time educating yourself. Now look at it: your own inability to give benefit of the doubt to someone who may eventually be your ally will ultimately make that person distrust you. This has been the problem. In politics and in parliamentary debates, you win majority to your side through careful choice of words. and you can talk the way you like about people that you WILL NEVER Seek their support. APC leaders knew where their votes will come from and they attacked only individuals not ethnic groups. Today, FFK is still calling Fulani Tse Flies, PEJ said some they born Children 'throway' Kanu is encouraged to call Nigeria zoo. Again maybe am wrong. maybe Nigeria will beg SE with power out of fear. Take note, SW will benefit from whatever SE makes of itself in 2023. I hear of Ekweremadu as the projected leader. TRUTHTOPOWER: Your views are mainly based on the wicked propaganda and fraudulent practices that are not allowed to take the front seat in a sane clime. In the true sense of it, do your people have the political clout to win ANY credible election? Can you post ANY evidence where a prominent Igbo personality insulted or maligned your father or race? Which ethnic group have built a better bridge than the Igbos who have exhibited more 'Nigerianness' by permeating every nook and cranny of Nigeria, peacefully building and establishing business empires, and growing the economy of the locals and that of the country at large, and some of them even getting married to the locals? In the 90s, the NADECO's unlicensed and inciting Radio Kudirat was hitting the airwaves, did any of your elites condemn it? Before the 2015 general elections, did you condemn the highly inciting Radio Chanji in the North? Between Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani who makes lousy, provoking noise and propaganda using every available media outfit? In the build up to the 2015 general elections certain people made careless and careless utterances thereby heating up the polity. Is any of them Igbo The likes of FFK, Fayose, Fashola, Tinubu, Lai, El Rufai, Junaid Mohammed, Obj and Sahara Reporters who heated the polity with their utterances, is any of them Igbo? Ever since you were born, have you seen or heard anywhere Igbos are on rampage, killing people and destroying means of livelihoods for no just cause? How many of your elites dare challenge the Hausa-Fulani-Kanuris or Yorubas for their unjust ways? How many of you dare counter the numerous killings and destruction of lives and properties that have been occurring for many decades in the North unabated? The Hausa-Fulani-Kanuri people have over the century propagated despicable, hate speeches in their mosques and still execute the unconscionable, cold-hearted waste of human lives and reckless destruction of means of livelihoods in the North and Middle-belt. And they now have the presidency while the backstabbing Yorubas vice-presidency! Such a misnomer can only happen in the jungle! A number of Yorubas even go to the extent of carrying wicked lies about how Hausa-Fulani-Kanuri people have been peace-loving and accommodative; that it's the Igbos that always provoke their hosts in the North warranting the pogrom and other heinous crimes against the Igbos. Yet in the same North and the Middle-belt the Christian minorities and other Southerners are maltreated, relegated to the background and even killed. You say that Igbos are arrogant, and that they don't respect their hosts while you subtly proclaim that the Hausa-Fulanis are peace-loving and accommodative. You don’t like Igbos but you still fought and killed them to be in this fraudulent union where your likes are favoured by the injustice, inequity and lopsided arrangement in the polity. And your people even had the effrontery to castigate Igbos for seeking a self-determination! Many of you hold the view that Igbos should be grateful for being allowed to live in their part of the country, in the same 'One Nigeria'! You say Igbos disrespect and denigrate their host when Igbos choose to exercise their franchise right. And you don't seem to see anything wrong in Oba Akiolu's threat to drown Igbos in the Lagos lagoon if they fail to vote for his anointed candidate! The same threat was backed by many Yorubas including Dr Ariyo in the US who even called for genocide. IGBOS HATE NOBODY EXCEPT YOU ARE A SWORN ENEMY TO TRUTH, JUSTICE AND EQUITY. At the 2015 presidential election Igbos only exercised their franchise right just like other tribes. If Igbos are the promoters of hate in Nigeria, can anyone tell us any instance where Igbos go about causing mayhem, killing and destroying means of livelihoods for no just cause? It's only mischievous bigots in the society that turn blind eye to the evil and injustice, and permit the atrocities to flourish in the land because they gain from the lopsided arrangement in the polity. GENESIS OF HATRED IN NIGERIA 1* “We do not want our Southern neighbours to interfere in our development. We have never associated ourselves with the activities of these people. We do not know them, we do not recognize them, and we share no responsibility in their actions. We shall demand our rights when the time is ripe. If the British quit Nigeria now at this stage, the Northern people would continue their uninterrupted conquest to the sea”. - Sir Tafawa Balewa (1947) 2* “We the people of the North will continue our stated intention to conquer the South and to dip the Koran in the Atlantic ocean after the British leave our shores.” - Sir Ahmadu Bello (1957) 3* "The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grand father, Othman Danfodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We must use minorities in the North as willing tools and South as conquered territories and never allow them to rule over us or have control over their future" - Sir Ahmadu Bello, October 12, 1960 Ahmadu Bello, arrogantly uttered the aforementioned statement in a multicultural and multi-religious country and got away with it, and many bigots still hold him in high esteem and even shove it down the throats of other people. 4* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WSosECbcmM 5*...barely six months after independence, Sir Ahmadu Bello was able to say with confidence in the Daily Times of May 3, 1961, the following: “I’m set and fully armed, to conquer the Action Group, AG, in the same ruthless manner as my grandfather conquered Alkalawa, a town in Sokoto province, during the last century.” 6*...sometime in 2010, when upon the demise of President Umaru Y'Ardua, indications emerged that his erstwhile deputy, President Goodluck Jonathan, may contest the 2011 presidential election, a prominent chieftain of this same ACF, Lawal Kaita, who was a former Governor of old Kaduna State, threatened that the North would make Nigeria ungovernable, should Jonathan or anyone from the South win the 2011 presidential election, claiming that such would amount to denying the North it's birthright of ruling Nigeria. 7* It is in the same North barbaric statements like this were uttered in 2011: ”BABOON AND DOG WILL BE SOAKED IN BLOOD”. And what was the outcome - carnage and murder of many Southerners and Christians in the North, including many Youth Corps members when Buhari lost the 2011 presidential election? 8* That true to that threat, upon the victory of Jonathan from the 2011 presidential election, massive violence was unleashed from the North by a group which called itself Boko Haram and which repeatedly took responsibility for unending mayhem which began with the killing of Youth Corp members who worked ad-hoc for INEC in that election. 9* As the barbaric killings and destructions reigned, especially with the attack by Boko Haram on the UN Building and Force Headquarters in Abuja, the Lower Niger Congress publicly posited that the nexus between the aforementioned threat by ACF's, Lawal Kaita and the Boko Haram's bloody campaigns summarily destroyed any prospects for keeping the Nigeria Union. 10* "It was, therefore, no surprise that in October 2013, following the bold announcement by President Jonathan, presenting the sudden prospect of revisiting the master-servant constitutional arrangements of Nigeria infuriated the warmongering born-to-rule Caliphate whose cause was championed by the same ACF, and who, supported by their allies from the renegade wing of the Yoruba Southwest, launched a vicious, frontal attack on the initiative, teaming on the floor of the Conference into a majority, and driving the Conference into its first major decision, i.e. NOT TO DISCUSS THE TERMS OF NIGERIA'S UNITY. The rest of the Conference was a jamboree that provided a luxurious platform for the North/SW Alliance, parading itself as a new political party named APC, to fine-tune their violent March to the do-or-die 2015 general elections." 11* Oba of Lagos Threat on Igbos Over 2015 Governorship http://expressng.com/2015/04/video-oba-rilwan-akiolu-threatening-igbos-in-lagos/ Oba Rilwane Akiolu of Lagos to Igbos - Vote APC or Perish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87u255UM6Ro |

ArodewilliamsT: And to think that northern won't vote for a yorubaman against another northern in an election is a great mistake, at least Jonathan is a good example in 2011. Another example is Abiola vs Tofa, Obasanjo vs Buhari. If not for SW, Buhari won't have won the last election. Another point is that, Obasanjo still command a lot of respect in north today after Buhari, so he can influence them. An average northern knows that, it is the SW that is still keeping Nigeria together. So they can't totally go against the wish of a yoruba president, when the time come. 1 Like |

After 'tens of thosands of Igbos were slaughtered up north' as you put it, what was the outcome? What was the outcome when Nigeria was unwilling or unable to guarantee and protect the lives and properties of Igbos and other Easterners? Anybody reading your post will think that 'ibos' were slaughtered in their tens of thousands.....they did nothing about it......and when the mindless targeting of innocent civilians finally abated, Ndigbo returned back to the north just like that! If Ndigbo steered clear of the north now, you'd be the first to scream that Ndigbo don't want to leave the past behind, forgive and all that! Despite the wickedness this country has meted out on Ndigbo as a people and despite our agitations for equity and justice, of the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria, who do you think is living Nigeria the way it should be more than the other two? If you were to ask the minority christian groups presently being decimated in the middle-belt who, between the Igbo and Fulani, who they'd prefer to have as neighbours and compatriots, who do you think they'd pick? The fact one part is agitating for self-determination while the other two are either sitting on the fence or threatening war, what does that tell you regarding who needs the other the most? Do you know Igbland extends into the oil and gas rich parts of Rivers State to which yours truly belongs? If not for the blatant cheating and greed which saw economic enablers like an international airport and seaport being sited in one region for decades and given undue preference while seaports and airports in the east were systematically undermined and downgraded....if not for this what do you think would be the fate of your region today?
