The pro-democracy group, Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Youth Movement ,ONYM, led by Mr Uche Nnadi told newsmen that the rally to the National Assembly was also to protest the use of anti-corruption war by politicians for personal gains.
Some of the groups in the protest are: Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Youth Movement (ONYM) and the Coalition of Civil Society and Market Executive for Policy Stability (COCMEP) and New Nigeria Agenda.
The protesters came at the time the lawmakers were resuming from the 6-week annual recess, which caused a log traffic gridlock at the first gate of the assembly.
Ohaneze’s demonstration featured posters of the senate president, Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekwerenmadu with an inscription “Enough is Enough,” and “Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth support Saraki/Ekwerenmadu.”
President of the group, Uche Nnadi said in the group’s position letter that the rally was also aimed at kicking against the use of anti-corruption war by politicians for personal gains.
“We must state categorically that it is an act of corruption to use the anti-corruption war for party politics and political benefits,’’ he said.
He cited that the trial of Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal was brought up because Saraki emerged as Senate President and subsequently allowed an Igbo man to be his deputy.
The other group, COCMEP, who later merged with the Igbo youth group, were led by their national president, Innocent Okadigbo to the National Assembly.
The protesters therefore called for the acquittal of the senate president by the tribunal.

IGBOS: THE OFFICIAL JESTERS OF NIGERIA........they have been perambulating all over the place ,becoming nuisances after Jonathan (Ijawman )lost.
