but if he was here more of us would have access to infrastructure(at least 18hrs light,water,roads) and vastly superior social services(health,security,courts,education)

The whole of SUB-SAHARA Africa is better off with the white man than their fellow black leaders. If they had stayed up till now -with Nigeria remaining a colony as against what obtained in South Africa where they saw the country as home- then no doubt Nigeria would have developed more than the level we're at today......just not to the level of South Africa that was developed to European standards because they saw it as home!

There's a caveat though: the development would have been focused mainly on infrastructure.....physical stuff, but wouldn't have been so widespread; and our self-esteem and human development would have suffered! But there'd have been less fissures among the units/ethnic groups/regions, and the divisions wouldn't have been so stark!

The only thing Nigeria has more than South Africa is population, land mass, and natural resources. Truth is Nigeria has more potential than South Africa, but of what use is potentials if you don't harness them.

Since everyone of us knows the state at which Nigeria is presently, why don't we do the little we can to make it better. Each and everyone of us little contribution will come up as a suprisingly big achievement. Everyone should sweep his compound and everywhere wil definitely be clean. In addition we should learn to make positive declaration about our country NIGERIA.
