For the first time since the arrest of Nigeria’s former minister of petroleum, Ms Diezani Alison-Madueke in London on October 2, 2015, the Nigerian presidency has revealed its stand on the case.

The ally of former president Goodluck Jonathan was arrested by the UK National Crime Agency over allegations of corruption and money laundering, and has since been released on bail, but the presidency decided to keep mum about it until now.
The president’s senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu told Premium Times that the government is not ignorant of the arrest as it had been duly informed.

However, they are still not willing to say so much about the arrest, but will keep Nigerians abreast of happenings as the investigations continue.

Shehu said: “The government is aware of the arrest and all the government investigative agencies are working very closely with the British law enforcement.

“Nigerian authorities are saying for the first time that matters are being handled with seriousness and deep commitment. Nobody wants to give the impression that this government is frivolous and unserious.

“For this reason, government is only confirming active collaboration. Beyond this, we are not saying more. In due course, Nigerians will be briefed on updates as appropriate.”

Speaking also on the identities of the other four people arrested with the former minister, Shehu was quite evasive as he said: “as I said no one is willing to provide further details at this point.”

Meanwhile, the UK anti-crime agency, has revealed that while the minister was only recently arrested, she had been under serious investigation since 2013.

I thought proceedings were already set in motion? Shey EFCC collaborated with Daura State Security and the Anti-graft agency up there in the UK? ... and we all know that the DSS and the EFCC are the FG's attack dogs!

If the FG's property has been penetrated by thieves, then let the attack dogs be released to sniff out the thieves from their hiding place.

Wailers cannot keep track of their silly propaganda. A few days ago it was 'Buhari doesn't deserve credit for Diezani's arrest", now it's "Buhari has sent his attack dogs after Diezani".

Don't give yourself a heart attack.

Stale! If I was gonna have a heart attack, it'll have been on April 1st.

And can't you see we've accepted and embraced the name 'WailingWailers'? It's already part of our fabric....

It's not my fault that your inability to comprehend stuff has consumed you. When I said 'Attack dog', I didn't mean it in the police sense... Boko Haram has attack dogs but does it mean their activities are legit or as you put it, are there to "sniff out thieves"?

Are there no thieves in APC? So those 'Federal Dogs' are selective right? They can tell the difference between PDP and APC Thieves? SMH! I know you guys have been ranting that Saraki is an APC member... yes, but an APC member who romanced with PDP members. And aren't you thesame guys who said The presidency had no hand in Saraki's Trial huh? So all of a sudden Mr. Buhari's "anti curruption" searchlight spotted Saraki when he had nothing to do with his woes. Talk about Confusion and crass inability to keep track of the many lies!

First was I have no house in Abuja to I have one in Abuja and I can't locate my land in PH...lol!
Second was I have only a million bucks to I have 30 mil.
Third was Boko haram has been decimated only for them to bomb abuja and openly celebrate sallah with thousands of fighters. Even I can't keep track of em all!

Buhari is a pathological liar!
