And i think our security agencies have to BIM their searchlight on this VANGUARD newspaper, they are always the first to report any anti-government news especially the nefarious activities of boko haram(both the genuine attacks and the fake ones).

U and ur security agents are failures already with regards to dat point. U would only want praise singers in ur administration to cripple our system. God strong pass una

This is the dumbest senate since 1999. It's not the business of the Senate with which ministry the President deploys a minister to. Did the Senate under Enwerem, Okadigbo or Wabara screen Obasanjo when he was the "Minister of Petroleum?"

For years you and your ilk have lamented that the the procedure for screening ministerial nominees was a farce as there was no information indicating what responsibilities the nominees were to discharge to allow the senate access the capability of such nominees to discharge those responsibilities , now you change is here in a senate dominated by the erstwhile opposition no less determined to to things differently you say they are the dumbest.
The constitution specifies that the only executive function the president can perform is to discharge the office of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria no more ,no less if he tries or does indeed cows the senate into backing down, he will be challenged in court.

Do you know how many times Diezani was invited to NASS? Are you telling me NASS can invite Buhari (as petroleum minister) to explain anomalies in his ministry?
Didn't Obj do the same?
Why is Buhari not fighting to be Defence minister or corner EFCC portfolio?

Thank you bro. One would have expected he takes charge of EFCC to see to corruption battles including cases of it in petro ministry, but no, oil funds dey make him daydream. Our security is nothing to talk about, yet he chose where he will drown himsilf with oil funds d way a goblin will like drowned in refined gold

Very senseless comment. All Buhari has to is not to appoint a petroleum minister

This is clearly the pro saraki group talking

Senate used to be made up of matured and respected citizens, but now, kids(in d brain) and criminals are in d NA especially d red chamber, av u noticed dat the house of rep are looking much more matured in dis 8th assembly? . It's time we began to Know those we vote as law makers, it's as important as the executives, but most of us just vote d party of d executive we want. We'll survive dis I believe

Diezani Madueke was invited to NASS numerous times to explain one thing or the other, Bubu cornered petroleum ministry knowing he doesn't have to go to NASS to explain the fraud he's about to embark on.
By the time Bubu retire in 2019, he'd make Dangote appear a pauper.

Just ordinary tiny common sense u no get...
Re: Ministerial List: Buhari Must Be Screened If He’s Petroleum Minister—senate by Okanokan(m): 11:49pm On Oct 05, 2015
The truth, is that the issue is debatable. The issue of how one becomes a President or Minister are quite different and constitution being the grundnorm spelt out the condition precedent for one to be a minister and another for the president, while Inec determines to a large extent, thru the 1999 constitution as amended the qualification to be President, Inec has no power to determine that of a minister, this presupposes that the rules of engagement are not the same. However, its not that the senate is not right but FEAR COUNSEL (not wise counsel) will make the senate abdicate its responsibility inorder not to embarrass Mr President.
