why would you take all the stress registering with Education USA when you can get every information you want on here..Just saying though
I actually went tru minnesota state university requirement and its one of the requirements. Was about registering until I saw it. They made it compulsory for all intending students to register with the educationusa advising centre and while registering u'll send ur registration details. Are u in Minnesota?

Please Gurus n the house, i need help and i trust to get the right one here.

I deferred my admission to spring 2016 from Spring 2015,my questions are:

How do i go about filling a new DS-160 form? my financial information has changed.

Do i need to make a new sevis fee?

Please sirs, Walspring,bigfrancis21, slimmy05, msnas

Help a Lady o.

Thanks

You fill a new ds160 then fill in your new sponsors and use the code to book your appointment.

If you have paid for sevis fee before you won't pay another sevis fee but check your old and new I20 then compare the sevis number together; if they are the same you don't need to transfer it but if it's not the same you will need to transfer it to the new I20 by email ice/dhs.. You can get their email in the last previous 2 to 3 page

If you want to go to Minnesota state university and you want to register with EducationUSA, drive down or come to USA embassy in Lagos on Thursday and attend their seminar by 10am, you must be a fresh graduate of high school or university with good gpa and ready to write standardised test and do loads of research online etc.. But if you can't then forget about the MSU and look for another school and remember that 99.9% of people on this thread got their visa without going through EducationUSA

LagosNIV:

There is definitely a cultural misunderstanding here because in the U.S. system of interviewing you should be providing sufficient information (which some people on Nairaland claim is giving too much information). There is no quicker way to end an interview unfavorably than giving brief, one 1 word answers to questions that I expect an explanation for. But sufficient information should also be relevant. I don't really care about Taekwando because it isn't relevant, but golf is very relevant in the interview you described. That being said, I see several areas for concern in the way questions were answered during the interview.

I can't find where I said brief your responses next time. I only illustrated how the first question would have been answered without tagging any sub questions. There are many cogent reasons for choosing a school. And as a Visa Officer, under your assigned time per applicant, how long do you expect a student to spend only on "why did you choose this school" that you believe is sufficient?

Also, I still can't find in my post where I said talking about golf is irrelevant in his interview. All I said was he volunteered that info where it's not needed and that's why the VO seems confused. If I were him, I would have waited for a question about my course to come up before I talked about my specialization and profs. With that, I would have smartly presented it without giving the VO any room for contrast such as saying there is golf, taekwondo and sport leadership. Garbage in, garbage out, whatever I say at this point is what you know about my application.

OK, did you choose golf because it is among the 3 available courses in the school,or is it because you love golfing as a sport?
What you want to do is convince the V.O of your love for golf, and how you plan to expand it in Nigeria.
Omoh26:
Hi Guys! Visa denied 3 times on June 30, Sept 1 and 30. My school resumes Oct 5 for my quarter. Apparently I have to differ. School is California University of Management and Sciences.

June 30 Interview!
CO: Why are u going to the US
Me: For my masters degree in **
CO: what course did u read in school
Me: Business Management
CO: what school did u graduate from
Me: **, a private school
CO: who is sponsoring u
Me: My mum
CO: what does she do
Me: A business woman
CO: have u traveled before
Me: No, have not heard need to.
CO: Are u married
Me: No.
CO: Am sorry, hands the blue paper.

2nd interview on Sept 1, this CO dint ask any question apart from:
CO: Why are u going to California
Me: For my masters degree.
CO: types for about 5 minutes, hands the blue paper.

3rd interview was in Abuja Sept 30, hence the 2 previous ones were in Lagos.

CO: Good Morning
Me: Good morning
CO: Pls pass ur passport
Me: me hands in my passport and my mum's whom is my sponsor.
CO: looks at my mum's 2 full passport which includes KLM card, she cross check it with my name and it does match.
CO: this is ur mum right
Me: Yes.
CO: her next question was have u traveled before.
Me: No, have not heard need to.
CO: Why did u choose the school
Me: of all the schools I applied to, California University of Management and Sciences is the only school that has a professional golfer has the Golf instructor, Tyler Corp, (which is true)
CO: am confused, why golf.
Me: In California, when offered admission for msc sport management, you would either major in Golf, Taekwondo or sports leadership, so I choose golf cos I was convinced with Tyler Corps explanation on Golf and it's rules when I spoke to him on Skype
(which is also true).
CO: where do u work.
Me: My mum's company (which is also true). Am also a sports *** with so so and so station (also true)
CO: your duties
Me: explains
CO: Am sorry, hands in the denial paper for the third time.

This gets me confused, I filled all information my self, all information provided were not false, spoke well, was composed at all 3 interviews yet wasn't approved. They always include tie to compel you to come back to an home country, working in ur parent company is a tie, ur parents having landed property is a tie, so what else. Hence I think there is a bit of discretion from the CO who conduct the interview.
I mailed the embassy also called their call line, the response was we sorry for the denials but it is at the discretion of our Consular Officers, how else can one be truthful.

A man went with 4 children and his wife, Young guy though, he was asked what he was going for, he said vacation, he was asked where he has traveled to, he said UK, Italy and so. He was asked where the passport to countries he has traveled to is, he said he dropped it at home, yet he was approved, all couples got approved and aged people despite most not convincing.
A lady was denied, the lady asked the CO, why the denial that she just explained she has landed properties in Nigeria. The CO responded by saying I can't go into details, that's d end of the interview.

I would please want a well constructed and helpful comment from you guys. Thanks. CC @Slimmy05 @LagosNIV.

My university says i have a new SEVIS number, or should i just go ahead and make another payment sir to avoid anything going wrong.

Thanks

Just tell these guys at the embassy what they want to hear and you would be issued a visa.

Football or soccer would have made a lot of sense. grin

Nigeria is not known for golf yet.

You are correct with the email address.. No need to pay another sevis fee because the previous you paid is still active and valid for one year. I hope when you email them you did as I said Nothing will go wrong if you truly pay the Sevis fee

You fill a new ds160 and use the new code to book your visa interview appointment at the appointment booking website.
