Also, which reasonable manager knowing fully well that due to injuries, Sturrige may play on 1/10 - 1/2 of the season (due to his injury prone nature) and still go ahead to sell the best striker in the world as at that time?

Morinho made a very big mistake when he called Wenger a specialist in failure. I think Brenden merits that name/title because he hates success.
