so its advisable you root and backup first then unroot and update

you don't necessarily have to root before backing up. you can do rom dump with sp flashtool

Try this.. Am using d same phone and it's in English.

Drag the top notification bar
Tab the second window it will bring out icons
Pick the one with gear, that's settings or from the home page goto apps then u will see a blue gear icon that is settings

Den from there tab the second window it will show all d settings

Simply scroll down to the green icon with inscription A OPEN IT that's language and input. From there u will see French, change it to english.

Or better still you can use Google translate www.google.com slash translate, to translate one after another till you get to language settings

download mtk droild tools v2.3.1 or higher

open the mtk droid tools.....dont worry if u are not rooted.

then click on create scatter file, choose the directory u want it to be save and save it.

now open ur sp flash tool and click on read back. load the scatter file and click download.

switch ur phone off and plug ur usb to start backing up....when done, u will see the file in one format that can not be open.

now go back to ur mtk droid tools and click on prepare block for sp flash tool and load the backup u did on ur spflash tool.

mtk will start unpacking and create the backup.

i hope i got it right but its a long process though. thats how u can extract a rom without rooting.



in other words, check list of my cards for free games and hd movies...fifa 16 loaded

I don't think there is anything much to port...just upload the ROM then all that's remaining is to edit the boot image
