If they did, there would have been protests and the Queen would have had a very rough welcome. They wanted to peacefully sever ties with the UK (which was working) and in the mean time maintain normal relations. Colonisation and slavery are the same thing. Somebody taking over your resources and your land and making you toil on it for them is slavery. Don't mistake that. And you need your history if you think there weren't revolts against the British. Look up the Iva Valley Shooting of Enugu. Apart from that, an African head of state or whatever deep bowing for the queen of a country who forceful took control of your lands, which means your fathers were killed, is simply slavery, especially considering the master-servant relationship between the British and the northern 'elites'.
