Lesgupnigeria:
Cultivating plantain requires some expertise different for other crops.
I was on a farm recently where the planting were not properly done.
No layout,irregular planting space,no fertilisation,no weeding etc.
Give attention to your plantain farm to yield optimum result for you.

@Lesgupnigeria I so much commend your generosity in giving us all these information in plantain farming and be rest assured that God would continue to bless you richly in your businesses because you are really uplifting lives.

By God's grace, I own quite some plots of land in my villa back in the eastern part of the country (village within Imo State precisely) and sincerely I have always been thinking on venturing into agro business once I leave paid employment and plantain (being one of my favourite) is basically the major crop I want to deal on along with Yam and Cocoyam.

I would like to find out if your mentoring would take care of me considering the location of my land and also once I am ready to start,I hope I can buy your suckers to use on my farmland.

Concerning your free training, for those of us residing far from your location, how do we stand to benefit.
Do you mind organising a seminar/workshop here within Lagos even if it means paying (considering venue and other logistics that would be involved)?
Because, I am an advocate for entrepreneurship considering the economic situation of things and the number of graduates churned out of higher institutions regularly. We need to encourage our teeming youths not to wait for government windfall (if any) and get themselves engaged in something meaningful, agriculture is about being re-birthed as a major income source for the economy, the earlier we key into it,the beneficial for all involved.

Personally,i prefer training of at least 3days as its the only way to learn and gain from agribiz trainings

let me know when you are starting out to see the help i can offer you.

Equally important in the plantain business is the processing of the plantain
into other value added products like plantain chips or flour.
we are into plantain chips production and are looking for people to partner with in the area of distribution.
with the unemployment index going up everyday i think it is high time the youths of this generation
begin to think out of the box.
you can start your own distribution network if you have a truck, car or bus laying idle in the garage
take advantage of this opportunity and startup your own logistic outfit.

What makes the tissued cultured duller different from traditional ones? Are they genetically grown or what? The more we pollute our lands with chemical, the more the traditional species diminishes.

I just wish we can do away with chemicals in agriculture in Africa, it will do us a lot of good.Though we might not be able to massively produce foods, but we might just be able to get by without the need for massive profits, irreversible destruction of the enviroment and avoidable wastes.

The disease can only be prevented and cannot be controlled so you need to follow every details i will be sharing on this thread.
If your farm contract it,your investment is gone.

The plantain disease which is ravaging some parts of ogun state now is the bunchy top disease.
