Just read Part 8 (or Part 6, or Part 7). Actually, first read from page 1 of Part9 till this page... this will answer some of your initial questions. And then you may progress to reading Part8. Also, some of your questions like how to get an apartment is something you shouldn't be worried about yet, until after you apply for TRV. Additionally, acquaint yourself with Google as well... it should become your good friend. Solitin40: |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by thesoj: 9:25pm On Oct 08, 2015 |
Yes, probably. I think someone posted a while ago about someone else that got their study permit TRV with a small balance on the account. Did your dad include any statement of shares/stocks in the application? This would help considerably as these are liquid assets. It is definitely possible that the VO would give you since your dad's annual income and assets (10m and 40m, respectively) are both high. I don't think you should worry about it any further, at this point the best thing is to just wait and be optimistic (while considering contingency plans) since you have already applied. AverageNed: |

Just make sure it's clearly stated why the company is sponsoring you i.e. What it stands to gain from investing so much in you. Also the account balance has to be very high seeing as a company has more expenses than an individual. If you've got that covered, you're good to go & all the best with your application. ikem01: |

I don't know about Uottawa or LLM but some general points : Check the instructions on the programme website, contact the course administrator/program advisor. Google samples of statements of purpose. Check the university graduate page if you'll find any Nigerian alumni or current student. Email them with specific, well thought out questions. You don't need an agent for your application for admission or for TRV. A lot of people do it themselves. annikanyi: 1 Like 1 Share |

It depends on your field and level of study. You can check the website of the schools listed to see if they offer courses in your field, choose which of the programs you're interested in & then check the tuition fee. That way you can compare prices, you'll also find out if they are still accepting applications from international students for January 2016 Lobolintin: 1 Like |

Like the others said, keep the faith & hope for the best. If you get delayed at least you'll know what you can do to fix it. But hey, never say never, yours might be different. AverageNed: 1 Like |

So many questions at once. Make you take am easy. First get admission then worry about of school accommodation with Nigerian students ![]() It's kinda late to start an application for winter 2016, cos the admission process varies from weeks to months. Secondly, visa processing time ranges from 4-12 weeks, so realistically speaking, January 2016 is a long short (unless you've already gotten your application in). Not sure what you mean by university 1 program, but I think it refers to the 1st year when you takes courses to build the required GPA for your desired major. As for amount in sponsors bank account (we just finished discussing this, last 2-3 pages), you need at least : ((Annual tuition + 10,000 living expenses) x 2) + 2M buffer. Solitin40: 2 Likes |

Sorry this is coming late. I'd say yes for wedding pics & marriage certificate under family information No for work ID under passport & travel doc Evidence of work, is if you're going for a program that has co-op or internship as part of the course. In which case you upload your admission letter in which it would be stated or a description of your program requirement. austinebode: |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by montrealer: 12:44am On Oct 09, 2015 |
Not sure I understand your question. If you're asking about schools offering cheap PGD, I don't think such a list has been compiled, however here's a link for schools offering PGD. You can check if the schools you want are in the list. http://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=&program_level_merged=Graduate+level+certificate%2Fdiploma&program_language=ENGLISH Lobolintin: |

@thesoj When you have a minute, could you please help copy richcasey's post with the list of important links into this thread? I know you've included an hyperlink once and Emma copied the link to the list once but I think having the whole list posted at least once in this thread would make it easier for new people to see the answers to the questions, especially those browsing from their smart phones and who aren't tech-savvy. Some of them might not realize that the little hyperlink you added contains all the other links. I tried copying it myself but I'm not that tech-savvy myself so it would let me copy it has the thread (part ![]() Thanks. 1 Like 1 Share |

@montrealer Thanks man. Also, I just tried copying @richcasey's links but for some reason when I click on "Quote" a page comes up and says "Topic Locked". Oga @Justwise abeg help unlock @richcasey's posts na. The only way to fully repost the links is by first clicking "Quote" and then either repost or quote it. Also, @Justwise you've been scarce on this thread o! ![]() @Lobolintin, click here to see a bunch of helpful links, one of which should help you access a list of colleges that offer PGD programs in Canada and more. If you are new on the thread CLICK THIS LINK to access a lot of extremely insightful information to help with your school search or TRV app. 5 Likes |

Hey Guys good morning to you all please hows it with community colleges in canada if one choose to apply to them for an undergraduate program. are community colleges a red flag to the canadian embassy here in Naija. like i know in the US embassy , community colleges are a red flag. but how about canada? i i m thinking of applying to a college there or any other institution that is higher than a secondary school there for a diploma program. like we know it to be in Nigeria as Polytechnic or college of education. i am still reading/studying part8 and have read some few pages on part 9 and it appears to me that 90% of applicants here are going for thier universities. is this because canadian colleges(2years program tetiary institutions) are a red flag to thier embassy here. i see list of schools, most especially colleges in thE CIC page(website) is it advisable to pick a community college there or any college seing because they are of low tuition. Please guys help me with advise concerning this |

Solitin40: It is very late. The processing of admission takes long and then the visa application process takes long too. Just relax and apply for Sept 2016 like me. |

judnele: Have you applied already? I applied in Feb for September entry but I had to change admission date to September 2016 to give myself a good chance of securing funding. The admissions tutor advised me to change the date too. |
