Ken the betrayer of his people must be burning in hell by now I don't know who want to remember this saboteur now that BIAFRA's sun is rising

Just for the records: Nobody from South south will accept Biafra
Yes we were part of the Eastern fraud in the "zoo", but South south has come to stay.
We respect your right to break out of the "zoo"...
Chief Michael Okpara and his cohorts are the once screaming from hell.

Now tell me, how did he betray the Igbos?

...too bad he was murdered. But you know what, his Ogoni people and other adjoining tribes in the Niger delta respect and honor him even after his death.

The Igbos don't really count when it comes to the issue of Ken saro-wiwa.

At this point I choose not to banter words with u

Rather I ask for u to read other people's comment here all u see is 'betrayal' which he was he should be thanking his stars that he apologised to ikemba ojukwu

Exactly my brother. Saro Wiwa was betrayed by his people. Some corrupt elders testified against him at the tribunal.

Just like Amaechi, he was corrupt but hailed by hausas for working against his ppl.... there was Ogoni 5 and Ogoni 9 ..... he first sent ppl to kill their chiefs that was why the elders testified against him.... he was working for the ppl that later hanged him the Hausa/Fulani, and they became enemy when he fell out with them and I am sure they are the ones celebrating his death more today

I don't know how different he was from say Chief Clark who after parading himself as GEJ sole adviser now realizes that the man was infact weak and failed in his duty as a president.
Saro Wiwa enjoyed what eastern Nigeria had to offer in terms of education and protection, yet he was proud to describe his own sabotaging activities against his own people, he led the abandoned property saga, whereby Nigerians woke up one morning and claimed other people's properties as their own.
His apologies to Ojukwu were to little too late, just like Adaka Boro, and maybe Chief Clark, Ken Saro Wiwa belongs to hell fire.
People are better advised to read up on Ken Saro Wiwa before celebrating him in anyway.

It was a sorry state of affairs. He realised he was on the wrong side rather too late when he was already too deep inside the lion's mouth, and had happily burnt bridges he would have used to climb out of that great trap.

He was a major beneficiary of the ABANDONED PROPERTIES saga, and he personally got a property belonging to Chief Z. C. Obi (Onunaekwuligbo) the then chairman of Igbo State Union, and a close relative of mine from my mother's side in Nnewi.
No doubt the Obis must have placed a curse on him, which played out for all to see, during Abacha's era.

ALWAYS BE NICE TO PEOPLE YOU ENCOINTER ON YOUR WAY UP, AS YOU MAY MEET THEM ON YOUR WAY DOWN.

In your warped, illogical reasoning, the decision of an Ogoni not to work with an Igbo man can be termed "betrayal"?

How then would you refer to the decision of an Igbo man, Nnamdi Azikiwe that never subscribed to the biafran movement?

What is your definition of the word "betrayal"?

Let me rescue you..."betrayal", in this context, occurs when a citizen of a particular nation helps the enemies in times of war.

Was Saro-wiwa Igbo? The proximity of the Niger delta region to the south-east doesn't make both parties one or united?

Think, Nigger!

"I was a graduate student when the cataclysmic events of 1966 happened. Apart from my revulsion at the needless murders of the innocent, nothing upset me more than Ojukwu's dishonest formulations and his attempt to kidnap the Ogoni, among others, into his Igbo empire called "biafra." I knew that he pinned his hopes of the economic viability of "biafra" on the oil of the Ogoni and the Ijaw. I rebelled. I became Secretary of a small committee which met nights in Port Harcourt and issued a communique calling on Gowon to create a Rivers State by decree.

The same oil and wealth he never enjoyed and Ogonis may never do.

Talking about Fulani-asslicking, the following comes to mind...

Nnamdi Azikiwe, a ceremomial, hand-shaking figure head and Tafawa Balewa's "boy" in the first republic.

Alex Ekwueme, Shagari's vice in the second republic.

Sylvester Ugoh, Tofa's running mate in the aborted third republic.

Go to the Fulani states in the North and see a lot of your Igbo folks lickin' Fulani asses to make ends meet. Have you ever wondered what scares a lot of your people out of their enclaves

He later ran to Northerner military officers, then to the west to meet late Chief Obafemi Awalowo to takeaway what he called nightmare. "When, by sheer quirk of fortune, this happened in 1967, I abandoned family and caution, crossed the fighting lines and found myself in Lagos. There I became a member of something called the Interim Advisory Council of Rivers State and, subsequently, Administrator for Bonny. I returned to the war front and struck up friendships with gentlemen like Sani Bello who comes from Kontagora, Akinrinade from Ife, Obasanjo from Abeokuta, Yakumu Danjuma from Takum, Dan Ato, now deceased, from Bida. I had reason to hope that my nightmare as an Ogoni in Nigeria was about to end.

Respected commentator and political analyst, Umunakwe, has this to say about Ken Saro-Wiwa. "After reading ken saro-wiwa take on Igbos all I have to say to him is and so what, they still killed you like a rat and coward you are. And to Ken Saro WiWa’s people, you guys are still dying from the hands of your so called friends. As much as you hate the Igbos, your freedom and right to your land would continue to be illusive from generation to generation. An Igbo man has not hanged anyone of you before or now. Ken Saro-Wiwa and his ogoni people can go ahead with their hatred but they must remember that evil that men do always lives after them. Your suffering began the day you stupidly sold your soul to the devil and the sword of betrayed shall never leave your kingdom...", he fumed.

Ezeana Igirigi Achusim added: "I keep wondering what would have happened if Ken was somehow saved from execution by those he hated? If he was alive today, would he still be anti-Igbo?

You must be a simpleton to think an Ogoni man is bound to protect the interest of an Igbo man.

Was he Igbo?

How could he have betrayed the Igbos when he wasn't Igbo himself? His major constituency was his Ogoni land, whose interests he strived to protect.

Look towards the late "Zik of Africa" if you're looking for a high-ranking figure who betrayed the Igbos during the civil war.

KSW taking over the property of Chief Z. C. Obi is much more than a betrayal. This is HATRED and WICKEDNESS of the highest order.

If he had kept his antagonism towards Igbos, at not wanting Ogoni to be part of Biafra, I wouldn't have seen much wrong with that choice. But to go seizing properties of your neighbours, tells me a lot about him, none of which is positive.

But in 1995 his Northern military friends hanged him and Ogoni nine (9) specifically November 10, 1995.

According to ThisDay, Ken Saro Wiwa led MOSOP, "was at the vanguard of the agitation against the environmental degradation of Ogoniland arising from oil exploration.

Shockingly though,"a memo from the meeting of the PRC, obtained by an online news medium, Premium Times, showed how council members approved Abacha’s request for the death sentence to be carried out on the Ogoni Nine so that the military junta would not be portrayed as weak.

PRC at the time was made up of: Abacha, Maj. General Patrick Aziza (Minister of Communications under Abacha); Major Gen. Tajudeen Olarenwaju (General Officer Commanding); General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Chief of Defence Staff); Lt. General Oladipo Diya (Chief of General Staff); Maj. Gen. Victor Malu (GOC); Ibrahim Coomasie (Inspector General of Police); Mike Akhigbe (Chief of Naval Staff); Maj. General Ishaya Bamaiyi (Chief of Army Staff); Nsikak Eduok (Chief of Air Staff); Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Useni (Minister of the Federal Capital Territory); and Michael Agbamuche (Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice).

Now hungrywolf, make you no lie o, which state for Naija you dey hustle? Make I bend if na south-east state. grin . If I catch you for Lagos, you go know how far.

Back to Saro-wiwa, he was actually a martyr. Do you know how much Shell paid to his family for his unjust killing? 15.5 million USD. Do you know how much Shell and other oil companies paid in compensating Ogoni land for the environmental degradation of their lands? Google is your friend, you sentimental Flat-head.
