OLAADEGBU: It does but it was compiled after his death. And why would it celebrate a man who conquered the Persian Empire? The Persians freed the Jews from Babylonian captivity. Alexander did nothing to further the cause of the Jews. |

AtheistD: The book of daniel was written before Alexander the Great was born OLAADEGBU: The book of daniel did predict Alexander the Great and even the breakup of his conquests INTO 4. Daniel 7:6 (KJV) After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. Daniel 8 (KJV) 5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. 6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. 7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. 8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. 9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. 1 Like 1 Share |

OLAADEGBU: Suggested answer: Alexander the Great Question: "Does the Bible mention Alexander the Great?" The name "Alexander" or "Alexander the Great," referring to the Macedonian king, never appears in the Bible. However, the prophets Daniel and Zechariah wrote prophecies concerning Greece and Alexander's Macedonian Empire. The non-eschatological prophecies in Daniel have proved so reliable that some critics have tried to post-date his writing, even though copious literary, historical and biblical factors point to a date of writing in the sixth century B.C. (see the third paragraph of this article). Zechariah, writing sometime between 520 and 470 B.C., was also well before Alexander's rise to power. 3 Likes 2 Shares |
