I'm not a fan of any version of Nollywood, but when I mistakenly watch the Yoruba and the English Nolly, I always prefer the Yoruba.

If you talk of 'No substance at all' and unnecessary part 1 to part 100, turn to English Nolly. Just sprinkles of standout producers like Kunle Afolayan are helping salvage the poor industry.

There are lots of wack Yoruba films out there, but they have always been churning out very quality works by the very best producers in the land. Mainframe pictures (opomulero) Antar Laniyan, preceded by the pioneers like Hubert Ogunde. Their historical films are superb, those historical films done in the 70s and 80s will keep you spell bound in terms of content and quality. Kunle Afolayan only learnt from the masters.

What's my business with Yorubawood movie industry The people who suffers from huge inferiority complex are Yorubas, who always call out Igbos even when the thread doesn't concern them.

Both Igbo and Yoruba producers made movies before 1992. But the production of Living in Bondage on VHS format kick started what we know as Nollywood today. It's a movie that crossed all geographical and linguistics boundaries and established Nigeria as a movie producing Nation. Most of these veteran actors like Justus Esiri, funsho Adeolu,Olu and Joke Silva etc all crossed over to Nollywood and received more fame and accolades.
Sorry, you all should make out time and study the origin of Nollywood in Nigeria. Nollywood is not affiliated with pre 1992 movies. It's only an industry that was established by an Igbo Alaba trader and a poor Igbo film and Tv graduate known as Ken Ogunjiofor.
