You totally misunderstood my point. I am not Nihilist, i was in support of Coogar in terms of Scholes vs Lampard. Where i have always disagreed with Coogar is using stats as the sole arbiter.....i prefer to use the simple eye test first, then use stats if things remain close.

Okay, well.

However eye sample or stats cannot totally guarantee if a new player will perform well or not. Apart from new signings, a good coach should rely on the academy to spurn out new talents who'll take over from the old legs. This process is getting extinct in the EPL and is the main reason why English players aren't as good as their European counterparts in recent time.

That's not true. Lets look at the Champions of the main leagues last season.

How many Academy players start regularly for
1: Juve
2: PSG
3: Bayern
4: Barca

I'll hazard a guess you can't mention 5 for each club

Bayern - Muller, lahm, Schweinsteiger(last season), Alaba. 4/11
Barca - Messi, Pique, Busquets, Iniesta 4/11
Dont know about Juve and PSG

But for Chelsea how many can we point to? or Man City that was second

If we go further and look atthe England team that played Lithuania yesterday, more than half of the 20 man squad have never played a CL game I am sure you cant find as many with France, germany, Spain or even Italy

most of those guys you mentioned above made their debut not less than 4-5 seasons ago.Currently the way football is evolving it would be a survival of the luckiest not of the best.Dev of youngsters would come to lie solely on clubs that arent in the first-tier of top leagues or clubs from weaker leagues.Academies would just be to select the lucky ones and try incoporate the ones that manageto fly all hurldes.

Mourinholic:

Where you born just to show me what extreme foolishness is??
Is Bastian marketable? 'Bastian is the captain of the world champions'

at this stage, it's fair to say when you were an infant, you weren't a baby......you were a pikin. you possess the brain power of a pubic louse.

how's bastian not marketable? why did united get him if he's not marketable? bastian has a huge brand across europe. yes, he's old but then he's won everything & he's quite famous in the football world!

Has any world champ captain not playing for either RM,Barca,Bayern or United made top 5?
So Bastian jersey's get sold because he is the German captain? Are you using your head? The same Bastian that has never made top 20 is suddenly top 5 because he is the captain of the world champ....How many of these jerseys are for the National team?

there you go again with your acute stüpidity. bastian only became the captain after lahm retired so he couldn't have been in the top 5 in the past. i reiterate, the average chelsea fan has a single digit intelligence quotient.

How many did cannavaro sell in 2006 despite winning the balloon d'or + he was the captain... at least by your logic he should made top 15....

so how do you know he didn't make top 5 in 2006 when he joined madrid? did your cerebrum and hypothalamus swap places in your big head? what sort of a rëtard are you? nocturnal or warm-blooded?

By this same Baba suwe logic, The captain of the UCL champ should make at least top 15....Keep digging for Iniesta's position....
Or lahm in 2013

you are not advancing any point here - you are just spewing bunkum known to photosensitive epileptic patients....

Is Depay more marketable than Neymar??
'Depay satisfies all requirements'
When I told you that Messi and Ronaldo are special cases, you were moaning.... So tell us ,is Messi 11 or 12 years old? Or how does resale value aid jersey sales

so which player is 11 & 12 in any professional league? why are you so idïotic? i said age & resale value are some of the marketability factors. depay is highly marketable....he was the top scorer in his domestic league last season and his league is among one of the top 5 leagues in europe!

Depay is 21 and 'highly skillful' and that why he is top 5......But Neymar is 66 and can hardly control a ball........

the volume of stüpidity platelets flowing through your blood stream would sink the titanic. you musta been the love-child of stüpidity and acute idiöcy....

Did Depay ever dreamed of top 100 jersey sales before joining United? Maybe he was 50 years old at PSV and he is soo special that his age is reducing

and yet the maggot keeps bleating again....depay became the top scorer only last may. he was signed by united even before the season ended.....so naturally, he couldn't have sold shirts at his old club when it was certain he was leaving even before their season ended. so how the heck would you expect him to sell shirts in holland?

you are a lunatic....

He was young and skillfull at PSV,why didn't he make top 100? You said Bastian is top 5 by the virtue of his position in the NT,but Depay whose INT goals isn't up to Bastian's app as Germany's captain is ahead of him...Sense?

depay is younger than bastian....
in one sentence, your idiocy was hugely exposed. didn't i just highlight the factors that make a player marketable? yet - you still ask why depay sold more than bastian? you are a tool!

Hazard at 21 was in lille, did he make top 5?
Even Ozil at 21,did he make it?
Gotze at 21? Stop this Sudoku analysis

none of them has ever topped the scorer's charts in their domestic league. you see - it's painfully apparent that you lack any sort of substance in the knowledge of the game. i think you should fück back to the village you crawled out from.

there are plenty of drunkards with a similar IQ as yours in iya ndidi's paraga joint. go & discuss football with them. you are too lightweight to survive in this habitat!

Pique, Fabregas, and Jordi Alba actually had to leave Barca because there was no road to the first team from academy. They had to go and find their way first before being brought back.

None of the top clubs today really has the time time for bringing up youngsters anymore.

the laws in the premier league put paid to that idea. united cannot poach any youngster that lives 90 mins away from carrington even if he's messi+ronaldo+suarez. this is why there's no prestigious academy in england like you would find in barca, bayern, ajax, etc

only local boys in manchester like welbeck can get into our academy. the FA made that law to protect the smaller clubs and by the time majority of these players become 18 when they can be sold, they have already been mismanaged in their parent clubs....they woulda developed some bad habits due to poor coaching....moreover, by then they would become more expensive and sometimes unaffordable.

trust me, it's a clusterfück!

Maybe you should say some coaches are lazy and cant develop anymore

Barcelona was already a top team before Busquets, Pedro and Pique broke into the team

Bayern got Alaba into the first team in 2010

Some coaches give youngsters chances while some dont. A LvG wont mind benching an established player and play a promising teenager while a Mourinho would rather buy Etoo Falcao or even a retired footballer than give a youngster opportunities

Despite man Utd having RvP, Rooney, Falcao last season, James Wilson still got 17 caps. If he had delivered in those games, he might be the starter for Man utd right now, while some coach no even wan see you at all even if you can shoot like thinder Balogun

Some clubs like Southampton still manage to do a good job of breeding youngsters.

I think its the coaches that are too lazy to develop players

what have southampton won at the top level? the hunger for success will not let any top club stick religiously to youth policy in the EPL. wenger tried it and won nothing for 8 seasons back to back.

the coaches are not lazy - they must work to the instructions of the club chairmen. the primary target is to survive in the premier league. not too many teams would cope if they stick strictly to their academy graduates.

There are some things that need stats and some that do not. Its a simple trained eye test would know

There is something called experience in football based on watching for many years and having the eye for the game

E.g completed passes of Mikel and Cleverly that are done in safe areas of the field vs those for Iniesta and Fabregas done in risky areas of the field would be different and would have to be viewed in the context

A striker thats a poacher is different than one who is responsible for hold up play

Why don't u take this into account when arguing Hazard/Neymar/Muller when u know their roles are different.

You dont need to play 11 academy graduates at a time.

If you have 9 established players, 2 academy players can fit in to the lineup without a drop in game play. Isnt that the way Smalling became a regular? By getting minutes here and there

In Chelsea now, What would Mikel contribute that an academy player wont?

i wont say mou is lazy, i just guess he isnt the patient type and i guess it becoming an in-thing for big clubs.look at odergaard or what is his name to me that guy's career is already roasted and burnt. Most top clubs now dont have much patience for youngsters, even clubs like Manu and Barca. You might be right to a certain level tho that some coaches are just lazy but still club mgt arent leaving time for managers to sit down and develop young talents most times the youngsters even when given the chances might not be able to perform due to high pressure and some might even perform but will still not be appreciated.
To me best thing for youngsters is for them to settle for small clubs where they would be properly trained and be protected from undue media spotlight and pressures later when the time comes they would perform well on the big stage be it Wc or ucl.
Money shouldnt be their first concern.

Not all small clubs develop talents. You cant compare Southampton to the likes of QPR. even though they are both relatively small

Even big clubs differ you cant compare Barca to Madrid or Man utd to Chelsea. A young player should go to a club that has interst in developing talents
