Hello house. If I need clarification on this. Must my opening balance be the up to the total amount I needed for the proof of fund? If for instance I need 10million as pof can I have like 5million as opening balance and top it up to make 10mill before the 4th month before I print out the bank statement at the end of the 4th month? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by newacca: 5:22pm On Oct 13, 2015 |
idolda:Opening balance doesn't matter. What matters is the closing balance and the turnover history ( inflow and outflow ). The inflow should be greater than the outflow; that's what makes the account looks healthy. 3 Likes |

I just got delayed. Travel history Family ties in Canada and home country Purpose of visit Personal Asset and financial status my intended program was PGD in Robotics and Industrial Automation I have B.Eng in Elect / Elect Engr, second class upper in 2010 I have been working since 2011. My work is related to my intended prog. Pls I need advice on what to do |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by newacca: 5:33pm On Oct 13, 2015 |
Omonjoe:Since the last time you graduated, you claimed you have been working since 2011; you should be able to provide documents that (i) show you earn good income (ii) You have good economic and family ties i.e Family background/standing, liquid/fixed assets, social responsibilities etc. (iii) Your prospect after studying in Canada. Bro, please take your time and think about these factors, if you could prove your intent of studying beyond reasonable doubts, with these evidences + more; you should be able to get the visa in your next attempt. I wish you all the best. 1 Like |

Omonjoe: I'm so sorry about your delay. In my opinion, your study gap and choice of course/program of study should be the reason for your delay. Don't worry yourself about travel history and family ties, your major problem should be purpose of visit, seconded by personal asset. May I ask why you're going for a PGD, when you have a 2-1? Did you submit your pay slips and soa? What was your balance like? Did you submit additional supporting documents to proof you have indeed been working since 2011? You don't seem to have issues of insufficient funds, but lemme ask who your sponsor is? May I know your age bracket? And lastly, what year did you graduate? 1 Like |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Nobody: 8:34pm On Oct 13, 2015 |
Dainty321: List d document u submitted for d house to see.. But in own personal opinion u should write an SOP that link ur first degree n ur intended dehree... Since its PM u might want to put sone projects u hv done in past... Dats for d purpose of visit.. Which also brought about lenght of proposed stay... Or. Rather choose a different course that os directly related to your first degree |

Thesoj and co, pls I need more advice Omonjoe: |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by thesoj: 8:53pm On Oct 13, 2015 |
Your main issue to tackle is Purpose of Visit. Your finances may or may not be an issue... I wouldn't consider this the largest issue. Do you think your SOP was strong? Did you justify why you are specifically going for a PGD and not MSc (I believe this is very important as some VOs might be more suspicious of the motive of PGD applicants given the ease of admission)? In any case both PGD and MSc applicants can get a Purpose of Visit delay, the key issue is that the VO was not convinced that you are a genuine student. If the VO is convinced about Purpose of Visit, they rarely delay the application for other reasons except for insufficient funds. Oh also, did you explicitly link your BSc Elect/Elect and work experience with the Industrial Automation PGD program? You need to make everything crystal clear to the VO as they might know nothing about science and engineering. I would recommend that you don't rush to reapply until you are certain that you have plugged all holes. Omonjoe: 4 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by berexio1: 9:00pm On Oct 13, 2015 |
Omonjoe:PGD is not the issue bro..Have the equivalence of $CAD10k in ur personal account plus any landed prop if u can. I have seen several cases like urs including my own very case..So am talking out of experience. You can request for ur gcms note just to confirm what I am telling u now Cheers! 1 Like |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by thesoj: 9:05pm On Oct 13, 2015 |
Hmm... How did you reach the conclusion of $10k CAD? Did you infer this from your GCMS? If so, could you share a snapshot of this section of your GCMS (or a similar GCMS). And how does this address Purpose of Visit? berexio1: |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by berexio1: 9:12pm On Oct 13, 2015 |
thesoj:Lol..they prolly use it as a rough guide to check liquid asset for pple who had worked and have limited savings in their account..What I said here is like an estimate, if u av been following express entry, u will understand that they expect a single applicant to have abt $12k CAD or so as POF, for them this is sufficient..It is not expressly written on my gcms bt it was stated that my funds are limited.. One more thing, purpose of visit will always be questioned if ur finances or someother stuff aint right..My purpose of visit wasn't the issue even though it was ticked, bt from my gcms, they were not satisfied based on my funds that I am a BF student. Btw.UG and Masters for me are on the same Chemical engrg path.So each person's case is also important My 2 kobo! |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by berexio1: 9:22pm On Oct 13, 2015 |
Dainty321:It is a well known fact that u don't have access to ur pension account and this doesn't serve as liquid asset for u. So get ur personal savings to reflect that sum or more and close other loopholes, I don't know much of ur case! |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by thesoj: 9:22pm On Oct 13, 2015 |
Ok makes sense! I had thought of this too, and I totally agree with you... however I think @omonjoe should plug every hole related to Purpose of Visit as well (and with equal or higher priority). Thanks for clarifying. berexio1: |
