dayjahvoo:Thank you but the problem is that the movement will be in between exams, I can't leave sooner because of work and a few other things and moving after means I'll miss a few things over there, I didn't think it's adviceable to change study centres in between exams. Can I collect the letter and hold on to it pending when I travel and still be linked to my current study centre as long as I haven't presented it over there? |

oliviatwist: Yes. that's why I said the letter will be undated. besides, the letter is not to change study centre. Its just to introduce you to them to allow you write any paper you happen to be around there for. Out of my six exams last semester, I wrote 4 in McCarthy then I came back to my study centre to write 2 2 Likes |

Lilylaw: Yes! You can actually start from where you stopped. That's one of the "commendable endowment" of the National Open University of Nigeria. Now, for you to change your course, you would have to go to your SC. Consult your course counselor/coordinator. He/she will now be in the best position to counsel you on what step to take. |

Pls I need urgent information about this. I am doing MSc Info Tech in my first semester. Someone helped me to register for courses , he left CIT 891 saying I can't do it this semester. But now I realised I suppose to do it cos I can't add it to second semester courses that are 22units being a 3 units. I registered 17 units this semester plus 22 units second semester will make the total to be 39 units. I heard it must be 40 units. Now, someone told whether I have outstanding courses or not I must do third semester where I will register project and add any outstanding courses. CIT802 isn't project? Is it difference from the third semester project? What I want is to graduate the fastest time possible. Please how can I achieve that now? Thanks |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Nobody: 12:24pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
wableo:If u consider an activated third semester, no worries...it is extra N23,000. But what happens is that most people don't have any course to register in the third semester as all had been registered in d previous two semesters...so u just do only ur project in the unactivated third semester. If not, in ur second semester, do away with one of those two units' courses; CIT832 or 844 and bring in ur 891 to achieve 23 units...that gives u 40 units overall! U can actually be graduated with 39 units... I said so because I have seen. But in this case, u may like to drop 834-harder and pick up 891. It is unofficially a three-semester program with ur research project; CIT899 being done in the last semester after u had done the examinables. CIT802 is an examinable course. Again, u can register ur 891 now if it is still possible-if course reg is still open and next semester, pick it up under exams reg and don't register ur project for exams. You will still have ur 42 units. |

kosplateau:You will still have ur 42 units. Good. Now if I drop a 2units course and add 981 to make it 40 units, do I need to pay 23k for the third semester? Or I will just do my project without paying any fee. What is the course code for project. |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by baba11(m): 1:43pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
kosplateau:I've done all my examinable courses and pass them with distinctions but where the issue lies now is:I went to SC today to collected a form to fill thesis result as requested by my supervisor, but I was told to come back by December since there's no one to attend to me now. Since I'm through with everything except this project submission and graduation approval by the senate, is it still possible for me to graduate come next? PS:No date is specified for the graduation day yet Cc: MiniHANS kazrem |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by baba11(m): 1:49pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
wableo:Project code is cit 899.... If you want to prevent yourself from paying extra 23k,register everything now including your project....if you like, you can leave out a 2 units course... then come the third semester, just go ahead and do your project, you don't need to register anything then |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by MimiHANS(m): 2:40pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
baba11: "Congratulations on Your Good Grades" "Felicitations pour votre bonne note" Arguably, it's still very feasible for you to graduate come next year. A friend of mine submitted his project last year Dec and he was among the graduands the following month(JAN 2015). All you need do is, promptly after the e-exams, go back to your SC, collect the thesis result form and present it to your supervisor. At this period of time, they will still be compiling the Graduation List. |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Nobody: 3:18pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
wableo:nope ...it's only d N13,000 to activate ur second semester and other course and exams fees. no matter what, don't pay or register ur project (CIT899) for exam. If u do, ur N2,000 is sharaa! Even if ur SC allows u or didn't enforce its sighting, on convocation day or point of cert collection, u must pay or provide evidence of ur N40,000 project fee. 1 Like |

baba11:bro..go to floor 6 and ask them to give u the grading sheet and take it to ur supervisor. Ask of it from exam officer...baba osho. If ur grade is not processed and moderated on time (first two weeks of Dec), forget graduation and convocation oh. Graduation should be after senate meeting...check d calendar. Convocation may be on 16 Jan 2016. |

Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by baba11(m): 5:51pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
kosplateau:OK thanks...if I'm graded now,how will I submit it into my SC since almost all of them are busy with exams...I'll not want to submit it at the HQs so that it'll not be an issue later on#from personal experience |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by wableo: 6:59pm On Oct 16, 2015 |
kosplateau: OK. If I didn't register project which is 6 units, I will have space to put all my courses, am I right?. When I suppose to pay 40k project fee , how to get a good topic and supervisor fast. And any other advice for project. Thanks |
