The Ekiti State Command of the FRSC made the position of the Corps known in a statement on Saturday.

Fayose had on Thursday apprehended a man identified as Adeola Alabi in the uniform of the FRSC for driving against the traffic.

The governor had the offender’s car impounded and directed traffic authorities in the state to impose maximum penalty on him.

But the Ekiti State Command of the FRSC, through the Sector Commander, Stanley Chinedum, said Alabi was not known to the Corps in whatever form.

It appreciated Fayose for accosting and eventually arresting the man it described as a road traffic offender on October 15, 2015 along Ikere Road Ado Ekiti.

It added in a statement on Saturday: “However, we wish to place on record that the said traffic offender from all available records is not a staff of FRSC as a regular marshal nor a volunteer, special marshal.

The said offender could be an impersonator or rather a dismissed special marshal who is still using old sticker of special marshals.

FRSC is noted for discipline and exemplary behaviour with adequate machinery to check excesses and abuses.

We therefore always inculcate in staff at all times the necessity to obey all traffic rules while on official duties and even on private engagements.

“Conclusively, we want to place on record that the offender arrested by the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Ayodele Fayose, the said Mr Adeola Alabi is not a staff of Federal Road Safety Commission.”

Also reacting, the Head of Media Relations and Strategy of the FRSC, Bisi Kazeem, said on hearing the report, the Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, said to be a disciplinarian, who has zero tolerance for indiscipline, ordered investigation into the case.

Kazeem said: “To our surprise, it was found out that the said traffic offender was not in the service of the corps either as a regular marshal nor special.

Nevertheless, he was full of praises for the Governor for arresting a traffic offender and appealed to other senior government officials to emulate this rare deed as Road safety is everybody’s business.”

Fayose should lecture Buhari on what governance is all about not snapping pictures.

Yeah, I believe the offending official should be brought to book. Having said that, I am of the opinion that we are fond of chasing shadows in this country because any time someone is found to have violated one law or the other the first thing that comes from the organisation that person claims he or she is representing is denial.
There are several cases in point to this effect.
We should learn to call a spade what it is and not shy away from the obvious facts.

That has become a position of every organisation when her staff misbehaves and is arrested. Its not a new thing anyway, even Peter denied three times he did not know Jesus. Jesus was not surprised and so FRSC Ekiti shld know we are not surprised abt their denial of the staff.
