Quran.. Verse Of The Sword... Most Notably Use By ISIS And Boko Haram Wrongly by madjnr: 12:17pm On Oct 18, 2015 |
When the Inviolable Months have passed away, kill the polytheists wherever you find them. Seize them, besiege them, and wait for them at every place of observation. If they repent, observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms then let them go their way. Allah is forgiving, merciful. (9.5) The significance of these reports is the nature of the alleged abrogated verses. The latter include numerous verses that call on the Muslims to be tolerant, forgiving, and patient, and to display such positive attributes toward non-Muslims that allowed Muslims to live peacefully with various religious groups for 1,400 years. Although the alleged abrogating function of verse 9.5 has been dismissed by most scholars, it has become very popular among Muslim terrorist groups and individuals who use it to justify their atrocities. There are a number of fundamental problems with this abrogation claim, which I will summarize here. For those who are interested in a more detailed analysis of this issue with references to primary sources and other works, there is a dedicated chapter in my book Abrogation in the Qur’an and Islamic Law . First, only by taking 9.5 completely out of context it maybe be claimed that it has abrogated verses that command the Muslims to show tolerance to non-Muslims. To see how blatant that distortion is, I have quoted 9.5 with the verses that surround it: A proclamation from Allah and His Messenger to people on the day of Greater Pilgrimage that Allah is clear of the polytheists, as is His Messenger. If you repent that is better for you but if you turn away then know that you are not beyond the power of Allah. And give [O Muhammad!] glad tidings of a painful chastisement to the disbelievers. (9.3) Except those of the polytheists with whom you have a treaty and they did not break its terms or aid someone against you, so abide by their treaty until their term. Allah loves the pious. (9.4) When the Inviolable Months have passed away, kill the polytheists wherever you find them. Seize them, besiege them, and wait for them at every place of observation. If they repent, observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms then let them go their way. Allah is forgiving, merciful. (9.5) If anyone of the polytheists seeks your protection [O Muhammad!], then protect him so that he may hear the Word of Allah, and escort him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know. (9.6) How can there be a treaty with Allah and with His Messenger for the polytheists, save those with whom you [O you who believe!] made a treaty at the Inviolable Mosque? So long as they are true to you, be true to them. Surely, Allah loves the pious. (9.7) How [can there be any treaty for the others] when if they would get an advantage over you they would not honor any relation or treaty with you? They satisfy you with their mouths while their hearts refuse. Most of them are backsliders. (9. They have purchased with the verses of Allah a little gain, so they have turned away from His way. Surely, evil is what they do. (9.9) They do not honor any relation or treaty with a believer; these are the transgressors. (9.10) But if they repent, observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms, then they are your brethren in religion. We detail Our verses for the people of knowledge. (9.11) If they break their oaths after their treaty and assail your religion, then fight the heads of disbelief. Surely, they have no binding oaths, so that they may desist. (9.12) Will you not fight a people who broke their oaths, set out to drive out the Messenger, and attacked you first? Do you fear them? Allah is more worthy of your fear, if you are believers. (9.13) I have analysed these verses in my book Jihad in the Qur’an . The verse immediately before 9.5 commands the Muslims to honor any peace treaty they had with disbelievers. Then verse 9.6 shows that Islam does not consider a peaceful disbeliever an enemy. The Qur’an even commanded the Prophet to give protection to any polytheist who sought his help. Verse 9.7 commands the Muslims to honor their treaty with the polytheists as long as the latter honored it. God considers this to be an act of piety: “Allah loves the pious .” He reminds the Muslims in verses 9.8-10 that the polytheists used to break their peace treaties whenever they felt they had the upper hand and that they showed a similar disregard for their relations with the Muslims. He explains that the polytheists made peace with their mouths but did not embrace it with their hearts. Muslims were commanded to forgive the polytheists, live with them in peace if the latter honored peace, and forgive and consider them brothers if they convert to Islam (9.11). God then emphasizes that the aim of fighting the heads of disbelief is to make them desist and establish peace (9.12). Finally, verse 9.13 urges the Muslims to fight aggression, reminding them of the background of the conflict with the disbelievers. First, it was the polytheists who broke the treaty they had with the Muslims. Second, like the Meccans who forced the Prophet to immigrate to Medina, the polytheists were trying to expel him from Medina. Third , it was the polytheists who attacked the Muslims first. Second , there are verses in other places in the Qur’an commanding the Muslims to establish peace with any party that wants peace (e.g. 4.90, 8.72). The Qur’an even has clear references to the Prophet continuing to make peace with people who repeatedly violated their peace treaties with the Muslims: Surely, the worst of beasts in Allah’s sight are those who are ungrateful as they would not believe. (8.55) Those with whom you [O Muhammad!] have made a covenant yet they break their covenant every time and do not act piously. (8.56) Therefore, should you get hold of them in war, make of them an example that would disperse [the gathering army of] those who are behind them that they may be mindful. (8.57) If you fear treachery from a people, then throw back to them [their treaty] on equal terms. Surely, Allah does not love the treacherous. (8.58) Let not those who disbelieve think that they can outstrip [Us]. Surely, they are not impregnable. (8.59) Prepare [O you who believe!] for them what you can of force and horses tethered, to frighten thereby Allah’s and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know but Allah knows. Whatever you spend in the way of Allah will be paid back to you in full and you shall not be wronged. (8.60) If they incline to peace then incline [O Muhammad!] to it, and rely on Allah. Surely, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. (8.61) If they intend to deceive you, then surely Allah is sufficient for you. It is He who supported you with His help and with the believers. (8.62) Third , verse 9.5 is claimed to have abrogated even verses commanding the Muslims to be patient in general, not specifically when dealing with the polytheists or their enemies! This shows the false nature of the claims of abrogation involving this verse in general. Fourth , those who argue that 9.5 has the power to override other verses ignore the fact that this verse targeted certain groups of polytheists, as they apply it to all idolaters. They make an even bigger mistake by claiming that it applies to all non-Muslims, including even the Jews and Christians. Yet the verse talks about the “ mushrikīn ,” which is the term the Qur’an applies to the polytheists of Arabia, whereas the Qur’an calls the Jews and Christians “ Ahl al-Kitāb ” or the “People of the Book .” Even when referring to Jews and Christians behaving like “mushrikīn ,” the Qur’an still calls them “Ahl al-Kitāb ,” as in verse 29 from the same chapter as the verse of the sword. Fifth, in addition to the fact that scholars have disagreed on how many verses are supposed to have been abrogated by 9.5, the number of claims of abrogation by 9.5 grew over time. This clearly shows that the claims were based on the opinions of certain later scholars rather than sources that go back to the Prophet or even his Companions or the Successors. Sixth , if 9.5 really abrogated tolerance and forgiveness for the disbelievers, it would have abrogated all of the many verses that promote such concepts. Yet even when considering all the verses that are claimed to have been abrogated by 9.5, there are still many other verses that command the Muslims to live peacefully with the disbelievers left uncovered by abrogation claims. It should now be clear that the claim that verse 9.5 has abrogated other verses, let alone such a large number of them, is absurd. Even the title “the verse of the sword” is a late invention. While “the verse of alms” has been given this name by scholars because it talks about almsgiving and other verses have been given names after words that occur in them, the expression “the verse of the sword” is very much a misnomer because the term “sword” is not found in the verse. Even more telling is the fact that this word does not exist anywhere in the Qur’an! Whenever critics bring verses of the Quran
to demonstrate that Islam is violent, that it
sanctions Muslims to kill non-Muslims (as
assumed by them), they do a cut and paste
of a verse and try hide context of the
passage. They don’t show the previous and
the verses after, what it actually says. Take
for example this passage,
“So when the sacred months have passed
away, then slay the idolaters wherever
you find them , and take them captive and
besiege them and lie in wait for them in
every ambush, then if they repent and
keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate,
leave their way free to them.” – Quran

Re: Quran.. Verse Of The Sword... Most Notably Use By ISIS And Boko Haram Wrongly by madjnr: 12:32pm On Oct 18, 2015 |
According to critics (especially hate-mongering
Christian missionaries), they say, ‘this verse
approves the killing of non-Muslims anywhere
at any-time.’ We know this is a lie spread
by Islamophobes in order to frighten people
about Islam. This passage has always been
quoted out of context, they never post other
verses 9:1-14, for if they did, people would
find out that it says opposite of what they
have stated. Let’s read from 9:1 – 9:14,
9:1 [This is a declaration of]
disassociation, from Allah and His
Messenger, to those with whom you had
made a treaty among the polytheists.
9:2 So travel freely, [O disbelievers],
throughout the land [during] four months
but know that you cannot cause failure
to Allah and that Allah will disgrace the
disbelievers.
9:3 And [it is] an announcement from
Allah and His Messenger to the people on
the day of the greater pilgrimage that
Allah is disassociated from the
disbelievers, and [so is] His Messenger.
So if you repent, that is best for you;
but if you turn away – then know that
you will not cause failure to Allah . And
give tidings to those who disbelieve of a
painful punishment.
9:4 Excepted are those with whom you
made a treaty among the polytheists and
then they have not been deficient toward
you in anything or supported anyone
against you; so complete for them their
treaty until their term [has ended].
Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who
fear Him].
9:5 And when the sacred months have
passed, then kill the polytheists wherever
you find them and capture them and
besiege them and sit in wait for them at
every place of ambush. But if they
should repent, establish prayer, and give
zakah, let them [go] on their way.
Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful .
9:6 And if any one of the polytheists
seeks your protection , then grant him
protection so that he may hear the words
of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of
safety. That is because they are a people
who do not know.
9:7 How can there be for the polytheists
a treaty in the sight of Allah and with
His Messenger, except for those with
whom you made a treaty at al-Masjid al-
Haram? So as long as they are upright
toward you, be upright toward them.
Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who
fear Him].
9:8 How [can there be a treaty] while, if
they gain dominance over you, they do
not observe concerning you any pact of
kinship or covenant of protection? They
satisfy you with their mouths, but their
hearts refuse [compliance], and most of
them are defiantly disobedient.
9:9 They have exchanged the signs of
Allah for a small price and averted
[people] from His way. Indeed, it was
evil that they were doing.
9:10 They do not observe toward a
believer any pact of kinship or covenant
of protection. And it is they who are the
transgressors.
9:11 But if they repent, establish prayer,
and give zakah, then they are your
brothers in religion; and We detail the
verses for a people who know.
9:12 And if they break their oaths after
their treaty and defame your religion,
then fight the leaders of disbelief, for
indeed, there are no oaths [sacred] to
them; [fight them that] they might cease.
9:13 Would you not fight a people who
broke their oaths and determined to expel
the Messenger , and they had begun the
attack upon you the first time? Do you
fear them? But Allah has more right that
you should fear Him, if you are [truly]
believers.
9:14 Fight them; Allah will punish them by
your hands and will disgrace them and
give you victory over them and satisfy
the breasts of a believing people.
When we read from verse 1, it states that
there was a treaty which the Pagan Arabs
broke. Thus, Allah in the Quran says, that he
gave them four months. Verse 9:4 states that
Allah will punish those who broke the treaty,
this verse is only aimed at those who broke
the treaty, it did not affect those who abided
by the treaty. When we read the passage
(9:5), it is evident, it’s talking about a war
with the pagan Arabs and Muslims. This was
a historical event that happened in the lifetime
of Prophet Muhammad (p). Furthermore,
verse 9:13 provides proof that it was the
Pagans who started this war, the verse
states, “Would you not fight a people who
broke their oaths and determined to expel the
Messenger , and they had begun to attack you
first?” This is proof that Prophet Muhammad
(p) did not start this war, but it was those
treacherous Pagan Arabs that started to
expel and started fighting the Messenger.
Two non-Muslim translations of the Quran on
9:13,
John Medows Rodwell What! will ye not
fight against those Meccans who have
broken their oaths and aimed to expel
your Apostle, and attacked you first?
Will ye dread them? God is more worthy
of your fear, if ye are believers!
And
N J Dawood Will you not fight against
those who have broken their oaths and
conspired to banish the Apostle? They
were the first to attack you. Do you
fear them? Surely God is more deserving
of your fear, if you are true believers.
Factors of breakers of the treaty ”Will you
not fight people who
A) broke their oaths
B) determined to expel the Messenger
C) attacked you first
Do you fear them? But God has more right
that you should fear him, if you are
believers Surah 9:13
As it is shown, in that context, those pagans
who violated their treaties and attacked the
Muslims first, basically, the Muslims were
allowed to fight back in self-defence. Why is
it that Islamophobes never show 9:6? Let’s
read:
9:6 And if any one of the polytheists
seeks your protection, then grant him
protection so that he may hear the words
of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of
safety. That is because they are a people
who do not know.
The verse shows that if any of the pagans
who broke the treaty and wanted protection,
that they be granted protection and deliver
him to his ‘place of safety’. This shows
even when the pagan Arabs who broke the
treaty and when they attacked the Muslims
first, the Muslims were commanded by Allah
to make peace if they asked. Hence, it’s
evident reading the verses in its context that
this was a war of self-defence against those
pagan Arabs who broke the treaty and
attacked the Muslims.
Commentary on 9:5 by Muslim and non-
Muslim scholars
Ustadh Faraz A. Khan commenting on Quran
9:5 says,
Context of the Verse of the Sword [9:5]
…….the Verse of the Sword deals
specifically with the situation of Meccan
polytheists breaking peace treaties and
openly declaring war on the Muslim
polity . The verse, then, commands the
Muslim state to take up arms and defend
itself against those that breached their
covenants and attacked out of treachery .
This explanation is confirmed by the most
reliable Imams of Qur’anic exegesis
[tafsir], including Imam Razi, Imam Jamal,
Imam Zamakhshari, Imam Baydawi, Imam
Nasafi, Imam Biqa`i, and others.
[Razi, Mafatih al-Ghayb; Jamal, Hashiyat
al-Jalalayn; Zamakhshari, Kashshaf;
Baydawi, Anwar al-Tanzil; Nasafi, Madarik
al-Tanzil; Biqa`i, Nadhm al-Durar]
The verse, therefore, can by no means
be generalized to refer to all disbelievers.
Such an interpretation is not confirmed
by scholars of Qur’anic interpretation.
It would be both contrary to the intent
of the verses as well as disastrous for
the security of both Muslim and non-
Muslim citizens and nation-states. [1]
Islamic Scholar Muhammad Asad commentary
“5 Lit., ‘Until their term’.
6 According to a pre-Islamic custom
prevalent in Arabia, the months of
Muharram, Rajab, Dh’l-Qa’dah and
Dhu’l-Hijjah were considered ‘sacred’
in the sense that all tribal warfare had
to cease during those months. It was
with a view to preserving these periods
of truce and thus to promoting peace
among the frequently warring tribes that
the Qur’an did not revoke, but rather
confirmed, this ancient custom. See also
2:194 and 217
7 Read in conjunction with the preceding
verses, as well as with 2:190-194, the
above verse relates to warfare already
in progress with people who have become
guilty obligations and of aggression .
8 I.e., ‘do everything that may be
necessary and advisable in warfare’.
The term marsad denotes ‘any place
from which it is possible to perceive the
enemy and to observe his movements
(Manar x, 199). 9 As I have pointed out
on more than one occasion, every verse
of the Qur’an must be read and
interpreted against the background of the
Qur’an as a whole . The above verse,
which speaks of a possible conversion to
Islam on the part of ‘those who ascribe
divinity to aught beside God’ with whom
the believers are at war, must, therefore,
be considered in conjunction with several
fundamental Qur’anic ordinances. One of
them, ‘There shall be no coercion in
matters of faith’
(2:256) , lays down categorically that any
attempt at a forcible conversion of
unbelievers is prohibited-which precludes
the possibility of the Muslims demanding
or expecting that a defeated enemy
should embrace Islam as the price of
immunity. Secondly, Qur’an ordains
‘Fight in God’s cause against those who
wage war against you; but do not commit
aggression, for, verily, God does not love
aggressors’ (2:190) ; and, ‘if they do
not let you be, and do not offer you
peace, and do not stay their hands, seize
them and slay them whenever you come
upon them: and it is against these that
we have clearly empowered you [to make
war]’ (4:91). Thus, war is permissible
only in self-defence (see surah 2, notes
167 and 168, with the further proviso
that ’if they desist- behold, God, God is
much-forgiving, a dispenser of
grace’ (2:192), and ‘if they desist, then
all hostility shall cease’ (2:193) . Now
the enemy’s conversion to Islam-
expressed in the words, ‘if they repent,
and take to prayer [lit., ‘establish
prayer’] and render the purifying dues
[zakah]’- is no more than one, and by
no means the only, way of their
‘desisting from hostility’; and the
reference to it in verses 5 and 11 of
this surah certainly does not imply an
alternative of ‘conversion or death’, as
some unfriendly critics of Islam choose
to assume. Verse 4 and 6 give a further
elucidation of the attitude which the
believers are enjoined to adopt towards
such of the unbelievers are not hostile to
them. (In this connection, see also
60:8-9).” [2] |

Very long and boring attempt to obfuscate rthe real meaning of that verse to deceive kaffirs but what do you have to say about Quoran 8:39 which gives an open ended instruction to fight kaffirs until religion is only for allahh? And fight them until there is no fitnah and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah . And if they cease - then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do Quoran 8:39 1 Like |

madjnr: A lot of muslims actually believe and take those war verses to mean what they say, but a lot of muslims can not keep fighting the non muslims because muslims are second class citizens in the world. Non muslims have all the biggest and best militaries in the world, they have the biggest and best economies in the world and have all the wealth, muslims nations have little coupled with the fact that about 80 percent of the world's population is non muslim, if muslims try fighting every body all the time they will all be killed and there will be no muslim left in the world. So muslims have to just look for ways to brush aside all the violent verses and give them their own meaning because they know very well that reality supersedes their religious beliefs. 2 Likes |

READ THIS [/size] “And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God.”-Revelation 20:4 https://www.nairaland.com/2142658/graphic-pictures-christians- slaughtered-islamic the usual standard muslim response that those muslims who kill non muslims are: 1) Tiny minority 2) Misunderstaders of Islam 3) Not true muslims 4) Are zionist agents sponsored by the CIA to tarnish the image of Islam 5) They do not understand quran in 'original' arabic 6) The dont go to mosque regularly. 7) They have been radicalized They dont represent the 1.5billion muslims. 9) They are marginalized by the govt. 10) It is the fault of the victims who offend the fragile sensibilty of muslims 11) alllah know the best. And other standardized excuses that islamic apologist give anytime their foot-soldiers go on a killing spree. People often wonder why a lot of Muslim riots and protests occur after Friday prayers and why people like jihad john, Osama and other terrorists are devout mosque attending Muslims. Most moderate Muslims will use AL TAQIYYA or ignorance and quote this non-compulsion of religion verse: Qu'ran2: 256 Sahih International "There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing." But they refuse to mention the other verses which compels their terrible religion on others. Remember the quran is a book that is filled with contractions and abrogations and even commands for Muslims to lie and deceive infidels eg Kitman and al Taqiyya.. Here is a little sample of the over 100 quran verses Islamic terrorists use to justify their acts of terror as commanded by Mohammed with total disregard for the non-complusion of religion earlier stated ; Qur’an 9:29—Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. Qur’an 9:28—O ye who believe! Truly the Pagans are unclean; so let them not, after this year of theirs, approach the Sacred Mosque. And if ye fear poverty, soon will Allah enrich you, if He wills, out of His bounty, for Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. Qur’an 9:30—The Jews call Uzair a son of God, and the Christians call Christ the son of God. That is a saying from their mouth; (In this) they but imitate what the Unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! Qur’an 9:31—They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ, the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him). Qur’an 9:32—Fain would they extinguish Allah’s Light with their mouths, but Allah will not allow but that His Light should be perfected, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it). Qur’an 9:33—It is He Who hath sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, to prevail it over all religion, even though the Pagans may detest (it). Qur’an 5:51—O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other. Qur’an 9:73—O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them. Qur’an 9:111—Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah's way, so they slay and are slain. Qur’an 9:123—O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness. Qur’an 47:35—Be not weary and fainthearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost. Qur’an 48:29—Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims." (Bukhari, Book 83 Number 17) Sahih Muslim 30—Muhammad said: “I have been commanded to fight against people so long as they do not declare that there is no god but Allah.” Sahih Muslim 4366—Muhammad said: “I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslims.” Sunan An-Nasa’i 3099—The Prophet said: “Whoever dies without having fought or having thought of fighting, he dies on one of the branches of hypocrisy.” Sunan Ibn Majah 2763—The Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever meets Allah with no mark on him (as a result of fighting) in His cause, he will meet Him with a deficiency.” Sahih al-Bukhari 6922—Allah’s Messenger said, “If anyone changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.” Qur'an (4:74)-"Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso FIGHTETH IN THE WAY OF Allah, BE HE SLAIN or be he victorious, on him WE SHALL BESTOW A VAST REWARD" Qur'an (9:111)-"Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, AND SLAY AND ARE SLAIN: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme." Qur'an (2:207)-"And there is the type of man who GIVES HIS LIFE to earn the pleasure of Allah..." Qur'an (61:10-12)"O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty? That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed the Supreme Achievement." This verse was given at the battle Uhud and uses the Arabic word, Jihad. The dark-eyed virgins are mentioned in several places as well, including verses 44:54 and 52:20. For those who swing the other way, there are"perpetual youth"verse6:17, otherwise known as"boys"verses52:24and76:19. Qur'an (17:33)"And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, EXCEPT BY RIGHT" Qur'an 3:151 Soon shall we cast TERROR into the hearts of the unbelievers, for that they joined companion with Allah... Bukhari (52:54)- The words of Muhammad:"I would love to be martyred in Allah's Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred." This is why modern-day Jihadists often say that they love death. Qur'an (5:51)-"O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people." Qur'an (5:80)-"You will see many of them befriending those who disbelieve; certainly evil is that which their souls have sent before for them, that Allah became displeased with them and in chastisement shall they abide." Those Muslims who befriend unbelievers will abide in hell. Qur'an (3:28)-"Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah:except by way of precaution, that ye may Guard yourselves from them..." This last part means that the Muslim is allowed to feign friendship if it is of benefit. |
