Jubrilla: You mentioned having PCOS(PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome). I only quoted what you said you're faced with. My advice is that you consider surgical removal becos of the size of the fibroids. My neighbour was faced with fibroids two years ago, she was operated on, the multiple fibroids were removed, and today, she's a proud mother. |

dessy4me: If you were sexually active 2weeks prior to your due period, it's an indication for a Pregnancy Test. Use the PT strip to test at home, or go to the lab to run a blood test. But if you weren't active, then other factors could be responsible. |

yetty619: Levonorgestrel has adverse events like menstrual haste or menstrual delay. It blocks the normal secretion of progesterone, responsible for endometrial formation. The 3days delay is due to the adverse effect of the the pill. So it's a case of menstrual delay, not missed period. Give it time, your period should flow. But try as much as possible to avoid the use of emergency contraceptive pills. It can lead to short, as well as long term implications. |

yugeekay: Try to run a Pelvic scan to rule out Infection(PID), since you had CS earlier(improper tools sterilization). Since the distinguishing signs of ovulation, like the egg white and breast tenderness, are not observed, then it's linked to hormonal. |

hope43: Girlfriend your prolactin is way too high. The high prolactin will somehow inhibit ovulation. Take the result to see a doctor in a hospital for treatment. |

Hello Dr's in the house, I have been on tranaxemic acid and Primolut N as prescribed by the ob gyn for 2 months now. I started bleeding two weeks exactly today, I have gone back to see the doctor who insist I should continue with the medication coz am been prep for myomectomy sometime next month. I am worried coz of the bleeding what could have caused this after successfully taking the medication for a month and half without any complaints? Pls I desperately need help here. Thanks |

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by chaz007(f): 7:11am On Oct 23, 2015 |
Durostay: Duro, you should have asked your doctor the cause of the bleeding. Well, the bleeding, I suspect, is DUB(dysfunctional uterine bleeding). The changes in hormonal levels led to that. It's nothing to worry about. But since the Ob Gyn mandated you continue with the Norethisterone, you should do as he says. I think he's discreetly trying to define the fibroids using the Norethisterone(a class of progestogen), to ease the myomectomy. |

Good evening Dr. I have two beautiful daughters and I tried to conceive the second on ovulation day but I guess I ovulated earlier or later in that cycle since I did not use any kits or such then. Meanwhile, my husband wanted just two kids. Now, I really want to have a boy. Someone told me I can work with a gynea to make this happen. Something about the gynea monitoring me and knowing when my egg is about to burst so I can meet with my husband that day. Is this possible? If yes, what tests was she referring to and which Doctor/GYnea can I meet to help in Lagos? This is will my last baby so I don't want to take chances at all. |
