Good day.
I need assistance on a project I want to make.
I need an arduino that will
1. Run on a 3.7v power supply
2. Able to send and receive text message
3. Perform commands based on certain words in the text message

I'm not into the engineering field so would prefer if I could buy it pre-configured.

Thank you for the response.for the second part
I want the arduino, running on the battery, to monitor a 220V 13A power supply. It must not only charge the battery from it but also have regulate the flow of the voltage, having the ability to allow / disallow the voltage flow based on certain words in a text message received by the arduino..
Alternatively, instead of a GSM module, can it be substituted with a wifi module that is activated once it's connected to a AP?

IS such a setup possible and how much can it cost?

HeLLo Gurus...
I have been reading this thread line-by-line from page 0 to the last page.
I really want to learn how to build circuits as i have zero knowlegde about it.

Can someone recommend some resourses i can use to learn all these-
PIc
Microcontrollers
And everything.....

i dont know how to start, thats my problem, someone should pls tellme how to learn all these..

I am a 100L student of Computer Engineering in a Nigerian University.

Thanks in Advance.

Why dont you want us to know the University you are? Are you not proud of the fact that you are selected among thousands of applicant. Anyway...

there are series of tutorials here on nairaland and other websites. just type the word "Microcontroller", you will get many topics and threads that talks about what you are looking for. one of them is the series that I did on microcontroller and embedded systems which u can start here https://www.nairaland.com/2174624/embedded-systems-future-electronics-computer

Thank You very much bro...
Its not that i am not proud of my University...
And the name is LAUTECH.

I have gone through the tutorial you provided through the thread, infact that was the first time i heard the word 'embedded systems' and since then i have been looking for where i can start with basics....from the beginning.
If i can get maybe a PDF file that teaches the concept from scratch, i'll be glad.

Thanks Bro.

Hello,

Need an oscilloscope? Don't sweat it.
For those engineers in Lagos hoping to own an oscilloscope, you should read this.

I am presently offering to order some oscilloscopes. Please view this link and contact me if interested.

Hello Nairalanders, I need advice(s) from experienced guys in the house. I am currently studying PHYSICS in the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta(FUNAAB). Will be starting 200L in less than two months time. The thing is i have been reading some materials online on embedded systems electronics especially on this forum. It caught my interest because I am an hobbyist in electronics. So I want to go into Embedded Systems electronics as a career. Is it advisable? I would love to here your opinion(s) as soon as possible. Bless you cc: Acorntree Savotech Nisol Alotofgrace Lalasticlala Seun guassian usisky 9free princejude and others

Yeah bro ...Physics is very good....I'm an elect/elect grad and I must tell you....major in Physics Electronics and lay ur hands on hardware programming such as assembly language , c language vb.net.....
And somecct designs too...

With these....you will stand on the same platform as an Embedded System Engineer.

And don't forget to check out the site called engineersgarage.com
Howstuffwork.com
Pcb.....

What you need most is deep interest and passion for electronics. With physics and electronics degree programme , you are on a good path to becoming an embedded electronic engineer. You also need to know that your degree programme may not be sufficient for you, as most programme are not practically well grounded, so be self taught. Join online electronics forum.Build other people circuit, use other people codes, build things. Start your learning using kits .If you are interested in programming stuff, you need to learn c language first not assemly language.Assembly is not for novice.Start with arduino then move to other microcontrollers when you have gain enough experience. with time you will start designing your own circuit and writing your own code from scratch.Electronics is fun ,what you can think you you can equally implement electronically.Programming is just a step by step of your idea on how you want to control things, dont be scared , with time you will become an expert in this.

Thanks a lot sir..I will take to the invaluable advice. Personal learning seem a little bit tasking although i have started that. Do you know of any training institute where i can learn the technical know-how probably while on break? I am based in Lagos. Also i would appreciate any e-book you can refer me to. Thanks

I dont think they sell the solution at local shops. And even if you see, they might be concentrated which yoi probably wont know how to dilute it. Its better you get from a shop that specializes on electronics and pcb materials and not to find out a chemical shop.

You can get them in lagos at oshodi but if you are outside lagos, the guy selling it can still transport it to you using the 18seater bus or whatever. If you are interested i can give u the number of the guy that sells. He didnt pay me for advert so i wont post his number here. Contact me on Savotechng@gmail.com and i will link you to him for free. No hidden charge...

But remember toake pcb u will need hand drilling machine also.
