Guitarlife: Hi, Your CGPA is fine but you need to add the requirements for a complete application. i.e. test of english (toefl or ielts), a sound SOP and others. Do a search on daad.de for international masters programs in that field but be sure to expand a little because i doubt there are just telecomms courses. usually comes in the form of media and communications engineering (https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programs/en/?p=l#q=telecommunications°ree[]=2&fos=4&lang[]=2&fee[]=0&sortBy=1&page=1&display=list). do your research, try and read this thread from the beginning (or just read my posts on this thread since i was in your shoes. this will make it easier to just follow all the steps i mentioned here when i started, my questions and the responses i got from the bosses) my school only has digital communications (Christian-Albrechts University, Kiel) all the best.. |

Greetings to all! I am just a few weeks old on this thread and have tried to read through as much as I can; i have seen how you try to help one another in your own way, reason why i have decided to table this issue. Actually, I am a Cameroonian resident in Cameroon. Have tried booking appointment for student visa application here in my country for over four months now to no avail - seems I'm always a minute too late on the online appointment booking system. A few weeks ago, I tried the consulate in Lagos with my documents. This is the email i sent: "Good day Sir, I wish to book an appointment to apply for a student visa at the German Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria. I am a Cameroonian and for the past 4 months, I have been making several attempts to book an appointment at the German Consulate in Yaoundé, Cameroon to no avail. The online appointment portal keeps displaying the following message: "Unfortunately, there are no appointments available at this time. New appointments will be made available for booking at regular intervals". I have also written several emails to the Consulate in Yaoundé with no positive results. I will be willing to travel to Lagos if I am given this opportunity. Attached to this email is my official affidavit of support, admission letter and passport. Thank you in advance for your attention to these materials. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely" Next day this reply dropped: "Dear Sir/Madam, thank you for your email. Hereby we would like to inform you that due to the high demand on student visa appointments a next student appointment will be allocated for 29.10.2015 and visa processing time takes 6 weeks after interview. We need the consent from the Aliens Authority at your future place of residence in Germany in order to issue a student visa for you and can therefore not speed up the visa process deliberately. We are sorry but we cannot give you an earlier date since we are fully booked. I would therefore advise you to contact your university and see if it is possible to get an enrollment extension letter or defer your admission to the upcoming summer semester 2016 so you have sufficient time to apply for your visa in your country. We regret not to have a better news for you and only advise you to apply for visa appointment 3 month before your enrollment starts. Thank you for comprehension." I then contacted the international office in my school - they don't defer admissions, and I had already paid the semester fee as it was a condition for accepting the offer of admission. They sent me a new admission letter with an extended enrollment period (up to 30th December) which I sent to the consulate in Lagos. I didn't get any reply in a while until after I had sent up to 3 emails on the same subject. I then received the appointment mail from noreply@diplo.de At this point, I have some fears. I will be traveling to Lagos for the appointment but I'm not a legal resident in Nigeria. I hear it's a requirement if you're applying for visa out of your home country. I'm really worried. guys abeg una help Cameroonian brother |

@ ttryan237, nothing is impossible under this Sun but be rest assured it's going to cost u some fortune and time to actualize... As you awaits comments from people that are more knowledgeable in this regard, let me comment my reserve. I don't know how this kind of stuff are done but I will advise the following (I will do same if I were u your shoes): - Visiting the Nigerian Consulate in your country will be the first course of action. (The information gotten there will determine if my subsequent advice will be necessary). - if u've any Nigerian friend resident in your country, ask him to help u out in any capacity he could. His help could range from enquiring on your behalf, he might have someone in the immigration that might be of help or handing u over to someone here that will guide u on it - Hitting the road to Nigeria (and be wise as the serpent himself). This might be the most difficult way considering u know nothing of Nigeria but with enough money to sustain your trip and having the mind of Nigerians, u will survive. A novice won't survive the hit in Lagos. Just my 2 cowries. Wishing u the best on your Visa quest. Btw; it's like the German Consulate in Cameroon has more traffic compared to Nigeria? I know one guy has complained about this before or are u same guy? I was thinking Nigeria will be the busiest among most African countries. 1 Like |

Bro. Your school had already extended to 30/12/15 and your Interview date is 29/10/15 which leaves a period of about 8 weeks (give or take) for your visa processing. This, as far as I’m concerned, is good news so you have absolutely nothing to worry about. As for your fears - I don’t think you have to be a legal resident of Nigeria before you can apply for a German student visa from Nigeria (I stand to be corrected). Nevertheless, your situation is different. You would have applied from your home country if the German Consulate there had given you an appointment. I think the German Consulate here in Nigeria understands your situation and that’s why you are lucky to be given an interview date. I will advise you to go and prepare for your interview. All will be well Goodluck. ttryan237: 1 Like |

Hi guys, I have been an ardent follower of this thread and I must highly comment y'all. I have quite a bit of problem. I am trying to fund my blocked account. I recently had the breakthrough in securing the funds. The issue is I have been to Sterling bank, daleko branch as admonished by a lot of people on the thread, as well as Fidelity bank, but for reasons of lack of Euros and one bureaucratic issue all. I couldn't facilitate the transfer. The main issue is my enrollment deadline is 30th October and that is the lastest extension I could get from the school. Funding the account is the only thing delaying my visa issuance as it stands. I need urgent assistance on how I can fund my account ASAP in order to get a visa approval and beat the deadline next week. Kindly render any form of assistance/advise. I am looking @ the possiblity of funding from there in Germany but I 've got no contact person. Thanks |

ttryan237: Your main concern here is the issue of being a legal resident in Nigeria. If that would be a problem, the Embassy should/would have informed you since you booked your appointment with the data page of your Cameroon passport. Prepare for your interview and go excel in Germany. Best of luck. 1 Like |

Iamwilliam: Hi William, I am so happy for you in securing your fund. I need to tell you that some couple of people are also facing the same challenge. I was at the stabic bank head office at Walter Carrington but was referred to their Idejo Office at VI where all foreign and offshore transaction takes place. I deeply explain my ordeal to the man and he said the only way to make the transfer was to send it to the school account. I tried explaining how the whole process works, but unfortunately, he said no way to send directly to my personal account. With a bit of annoyance, I proceeded to Zenith bank head office and was told it may take some couple of day (e.g 14 days ) The woman in question told me CBN gives utmost priority to students and fees payment that I need to provide all the necessary documentation. I thanked her and walked out. Just some buildings away, I spotted another Stanbic bank. I walked up to the personal banking. after thorough explanation, she told me If Idejo office could not help, there's nothing she could do. but she gave me an Expo/Tip. She told me about Western Union Output transfer or something. she said stanbic does not have the facilities but other bank does. I asked for the bank names but she said It was a Radio ads and she couldn't take time to listen to the banks offering these service. In this regards, If you can walk up to any western union outlet to enquire about the service, it will be fine knowing fully well that this will be faster but may be a bit expensive. Also, Union bank is fast. Their transaction spans across 2-3 days and ur Db confirmation will drop. The Choice goes thus: 1) Union Bank 2) Try checking western union around 3) If you have friends who can credit your account directly from Germany, that will be instantly. but online transfer takes 2-3 days as well. I called my account officer at stanbic bank and he re-assures me that it will take 48-72 hours for the transaction to roll and i will get a db confirmation I wish you all the best bro cos the time is so close.. We shall all testify I am also in a fix presently hoping it all ends well. Gemeinsam Sind Wir Starke !!! 1 Like |

Iamwilliam: Bro if u have a UBA account , try using the account. Go to the head office if u can. Try and explain to them that it is very urgent. I did mine thru a Uba branch in ibadan and I got db's notification 2 days later. All d best 2 Likes |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Hampy: 3:29pm On Oct 22, 2015 |
Well, I would not advise you to carry out the transaction via the WU output transfer. The mere fact that the lady who gave Dolpaz the tip could not refer him to a single bank means she’s doesn’t want to be liable for anything if something goes wrong along the line. I know what I’m saying. Little wonder why nobody on this thread hadn’t mentioned or even suggested it. You can try Union bank as suggested by Dolpaz, or try Access bank. Just like he said, the CBN gives utmost priority to students' fees and/or payments necessary to facilitate your study abroad (And the 8040 Euros required by the German Consulate falls under that category). But you need to provide adequate documentation. I would also not advise you to fund through just anybody in Germany. You said you have no contact person in Germany, which is quite unfortunate. But please avoid the desperation of using just anybody. Its not even advisable to rely on anybody you meet on this thread in so far as you do not know the person personally. DON’T LET ANYBODY REFER YOU TO ANYBODY! Not even the great Eke40Seven. I say this with all sense of humility and respect. Iamwilliam: 4 Likes |
