PassingShot: *sighs* You don't get it, do you? I'm not so much as interested in the replies Amaechi gave than I am in the people whom we have collectively given a mandate to uphold justice and fairness, via the legislature. The questions were watered down. It was more of gloating and glorification. The PDP senators were unusually silent (not like I blame them). During my rants on this thread, I did make mention somewhere that his textbook reply to questions bothering on policies and the economy was impressive. However, talk is cheap. If Amaechi wasn't indicted, what then did he go to an appellate court to challenge? Rivers state and Akwa-Ibom had almost the same level of funding from the FG. Based on indices, what is Rivers state compared to Akwa- Ibom? Are you implying that the judicial commission, based on their report, lied against him? “We have seen, we have written and we have arrived at the conclusion that the Government should act fast. And by the time Government looks into the report and acts fast, we would be able to recover some billions where they kept them. That money belongs to Rivers people.”http://www.channelstv.com/2015/10/09/rivers-panel-of-inquiry-indicts-former-governor-amaechi-others/ Amaechi said he has never taken a bribe in his life. That was a show stopper. If GEJ ever said that, I wouldn't believe. 1 Like |

Imagine this Prof telling us that history is no more taught in schools today. I was already surprised when the Senator asked about lack of civic education and history been taught in schools as done before only to be angry that a potential minister of education doesn't know that also. Unilorin peeps, don't you have history department in your school or doesn't he know know that civic edu is been taught in primary schools and history in sec schools? He's just boring and not promising. 1 Like |

Na wa for this professor. His answers are very myopic and he doesnt show a deep understanding of the issues. For him to say Nigeria should copy the model of Joseph Ayo Babalola UNiversity to solve the employability issue. Even JABU graduates dey find job sef. His answer on cultism was very weak. And students of UNILORIN will come and start saying their school is this and that. With professors like this, it is no wonder that UNILORIN can have only 69 First class graduates and 1392 Second class upper graduates out of 6710 graduates. https://www.nairaland.com/2679525/69-bag-first-class-6710 Funny thing is if you put the same 6710 graduates through schools like Harvard or Oxford uni, I can guarantee at least 800 First class graduates and 5000 second class upper graduates from my naija brothers and sisters. Is UNILORIN better than harvard or oxford ? Education is meant to be relevant and not just difficult and with almost 70Percent of graduates not making a first class or 2:1, i see it as an indictment of UNILORIN and other government owned universities who believe a university should be rated by how difficult rather than how relevant and efficient the teaching is. I hope he performs in whatever role given to him. 4 Likes |
