daisy14:I would say u shld aim for 300. Yes 300!!...at least if u don't get up to that u WL be close to it than aiming for 270 or lower than that. Tho some unis care not about ur score in jamb, e.g UI, But nearly all others makes use of it. |

Vcojuro:. See ehn, what I will tell you is this, am very happy you gain admission into U.I. The first and the best in Medicine in Nigeria. Most Doctors/Consultants in OAUTHC are from OAU with some older ones among them from UI (since UI has existed long before OAU, UI since 1948). Most OAU students that get Medicine in UI get it simply because of the OAU impart on them while they are in OAU (the reading culture, the interaction with brillant friends and classmates, the tutorial "gurus", the very good lecturers and professors, the pre-degree-which some did etc). Ask the former OAU students in UI, if they want to be sinscere, they will attest to the OAU impart on their academic lives. Mind you, OAUTHC is fast developing with some new structures (buildings) inside the phase 2 and 3 of the hospital complex. It is in OAU that you have a student spending like 10 years in Medicine (not strikes alone) but as a result of incompetence. Though their basic medicals may be a little crowded ie Anatomy dissection, Physiology practical and Biochemistry due to the fact that they admit more for Physiotherapy (Medical rehabilitation) and Nursing than UI. Their clinicals (400-600L) on the other hand aint cramming oh my brother 'cos they are well spaced into periodic postings moderated into groups which is done both in OAUTHC, ile-ife and OAUTHC extension (Wesley guild hospitals) at Ilesa, Osun state. U.I-UCH is known for more clinical correlates (exposure), medical instruments, comfort (ie accommodation), less withdrawal than OAU-OAUTHC. While OAU-OAUTHC is known for their Prestigious Medicine (they award Mb;ChB), OAU Medical doctor is more reckoned with than UI on the average in most labour markets, Any "Ife" Medicine graduate can survive anywhere in the world (Postgraduate/Residency) etc. Once again I stand tall and say "Of the Greeeeaaaatttttesttt Ifeeee!!! GREAT! Their are two universities in Nigeria, Oba Awon University and Others. 2 Likes 1 Share |

proneurojosh:I am not in the best position. But don't u think it is corruption when u bring 50 percent of the students into mbbs through the back door. Candidates who had 250s and 240s and u call that medical school. Medical school breeding underachievers and mediocres. It is their type that say post utme is very hard. Tomorrow u will say mbbs exams and incourse is hard. U will be complaining that medicine is tough. I derive joy from medicine #i represent ui mbbs# |

I think aside jamb and putme, maturity levels of aspirants should be assessed before admission to do medicine. What I'm seeing here is shameful. Please let's stop all these. 3 Likes |

Penboy:To CORRECT ALL YOUR POINT. IT IS NOTED IN NIGERIA THE UI HAS THE BEST TRAINING FACILITIES IN TERM OF CLINICAL SCIENCES. IT IS REWARDS AS A REFERENCE POINT IN TRAINING DOCTERS IN WEST AFRICA. IT HAS A LOT OF SPECIATIES IN MEDICINE NAME IT NEUROSURGERY PAEDIATRIC SURGERY, INTERNAL MEDICINE WITH STATE OF THE ART FACILITIES. MANY INNOVATION AND BREAK THROUGH HAS BEEN RECORDED. secondly when it comes ui post jamb ui undergraduate are not allow to partake in its post jamb. U are not allow to matriculate twice. The guy u said came from bch with first class did that because he would had been expelled if he took part in the exam. The third guy Lanre upkoto u said came from part six mbbs and join oau mbbs shows that either u are lying or Lanre is lying. U have to learn how to be a better liar. Ui has a better clinical facility than oau every body knows that or are u a novice. When I was in oau med rehab we use to envy what they were doing in UI to the extent that our anatomy lecturer will tell us that our facility is not enough. There were times we go for three weeks without doing any anatomy practical. If I am lying ask any student in medicine and med rehab They will tell u that I am not lying. And you call that medical school. It got to a point some people refused to go to practical they will tell u it is no point coming. And u call that medical school. Our incourse that was set by the lectures was downloaded from online question bank. It got to a point that what we were doing was downloading question banks from the Internet and made sure we solved everything hitherto because there were high chance they will repeat them. And u called that medical school. Bros from the earlier stated point as regard the first guy u mentioned I believe that to be untrue because ur premises on the second and the third guy was not true. I repeat when I was in oau we looked at ui college of Medicine as been better than ours. Ask anyone in the college of health sciences. If u are not in oau health sciences don't argue because only students in oau health sciences will understand what I am saying. #i rep ui mbbs # |

Vcojuro:with all this your small talks, i begin to doubt if you were actually given medicine in UI. You raised an issue regarding anatomy practical. It's students of your calibre that actually skips them. Don't worry, when you finally get into UI properly, come back and tell us if you did attend all anatomy practicals in your part 2 days. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Dunsin89(m): 8:57pm On Oct 22, 2015 |
Vcojuro:. Vcojuro, reply to my own post na! Or are you short of words? Sheyb you will still do Anatomy practical in UI. Get facts from both sides so as to make a better comparison. Mind you, you never did UI Part 2 et al yet! 2 Likes |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Vcojuro: 9:29pm On Oct 22, 2015 |
Penboy:guy u have to keep quiet for once and stop jumping from one point to another. The way u are talk I now know u are not in any of oau medical affiliated course. May be u were are agric or any other course, I repeat I was once in the of medical rehabilitation dept in oau. Now in UI mbbs. Stay there and keep talking u will still see Vcojuro doing his internship and his residency. Don't worry u might be referred to me who knows then we will continue our argument. #i represent ui mbbs# |
