lemme start like this, Benue state doesn't pay state allowance, the main profession here in Benue is farming, if u studied engineering be prepared to be posted to a school, industries not much... The camp is a very nice place, I wud advise the boys to be in the any of the c hostels, if u go to b, b na barrack, u and dem soldiers go dey rock am together, rural areas re much though but just pray to get posted to the good ones which are makurdi, gboko, otukpo, katsina ala, aside dis 4,na village ooooooo, food plenty cha and kinda cheap, etc 08060199045 is my number... Is it night bus?
Do you travel on each of the three days before camp closes registration (Friday) because I would prefer Thursday night travels

U can go to 9th mile and take makurdi, from makurdi u take gboko. Its day journey

Or u go to osha and take night bus to gboko

Hi all. Gd am. I'm from Benue(presently there). I'm also a B15 corper posted to Lagos. The honest truth is that people have reasons for choosing states. Some consider job/hustle opportunities after service,some just want a different once in a lifetime experience,which is d most basic and important. Benue falls into d second category. This state is moderately industrialised(Makurdi). Major towns include Makurdi,Otukpo,Gboko,Oju,Ugbokolo,Alia Ide, etc. These places have quite cheap accommodation too. Cost of living in Benue is moderate and corpers can thrive. Food is quite cheap. Transportation too is quite cheap too. Eg in Otukpo,transportion with bike(okada),a drop within the town is just N50. In makurdi,in buses,a drop is N50 too. Benue is not too ripe with opportunities honestly,unless u are business minded and can spot a community need. Also about 80%-90% of you will be posted to schools to teach. Try and negotiate with ur PPA for stipends. No matter how small. Welcome TO THE FOOD BASKET OF THE NATION

Don't worry just come am presently serving in benue state.you can only enjoy the state if you are posted to Kastina-Ala,Gboko,otukpo,makurdi.but u go enjoy the camp.

i Served in benue state in 2011. the camp is very nice, its located in Wannune,Tarka LGA. for those coming from Anambra, simply go to Onitsha and enter Benue links mass transit to either Makurdi or Gboko, then enter another bus going to camp. from Enugu enter Entraco or Benue links at new market. Msugh
