I need to travel for a medical treatment in January, so I might not be able to start my ppa till 1st week of February. I have answered this question so many times in numerous forms. Nysc gives you a month s grace to sort out your ppa. That doesnt mean you shoukd pretend not to have sorted out your ppa to go off travelling. If your camp finishes on 14th, you will be expected to have sorted everything out by 14th jan. Not all work places close for xmas. The ministry doesnt. You might not come to work on 25th but no 'xmas holiday'. The only other way is to hope you are posted to a school, then come to an arrangement with the school. Etc.

BTW nysc does not allow travel outside your posted state without written authorisation from either your LGA or state coordinator (outside country). If they find you, you may have your service year extended and disciplined. So make sure whatever you are doing, you are in agreement with your ppa and they won't rat you out. Simples.

I was posted to Delta state stream 2*crying * am scared of passing through the stress of rejection at my place of primary assignment after camp because those in stream 1 must have occupied them.

Boss thanks for your reply, truth is am in Abuja now, and even not medical strong to travel. Best bet I will wait till next year, don't want to play with my health camp will always be there.

But do I need to still come to camp and register if am to wait till next year, and what are the possibility that I will still be posted to Niger state next year cos I kind of like the state.

Hello Darkchocolate. I have been following u since the inception of this thread. Now I have some question to ask.
I have been posted to Benue which is never my option for many reasons. I'm a father. I got a scholarship immediately I graduated to pursue my M.Sc program outside the country, which means I have been away from my family for over a year. Now that I'm back, going to such a distance place like Benue is not an option for me again. The only reason I want to serve is because of my uncertainties in our country. I just don't want to take some risk. Now my questions:

1. How visible is it to get redeployed and on what ground aside from health?
2. Suppose I give it a trial and perhaps I am unable to redeploy, can I still back out probably to be re mobilized with the future batches? (Then I would have sorted my family out and more be more prepare psychologically to go anywhere)
3. What of if I don't report to camp at all? Can I just reapply some other times?

The beauty of it is that I'm to report by Nov 25, so I want to analyse my chances before then and make up my mind. Your respond will be highly appreciated.

. Correcting age requires WAEC not neco WAEC has yhur age on it. Dats d proof nysc needs. Take yhur WAEC tu camp it wud b corrected dere. Originals ooo

In my days, I feel into stream one. The widely accepted 'rumour' was that Stream 1 Lagos comprised mainly of foreign students and Lagos graduates with a few graduates from other states. Stream 2 was made up of other state graduates. Don't quote me though...for all I know, they put names in a hat and just put out people.

In other states though (those near BH affected areas), their stream 1 is normally those posted directly to their states and stream 2 are ones posted to BH states or their neighbours (but still deemed too risky for nysc campers) so eg...you might get posted to Sambisi State but because Kano State is trouble free and more or else near, Kano can take you in under their stream 2. (for illustration purposes only).

It really doesn't make a difference if stream one or two TBH. With stream 2, you actually get to do one month less overall than those of Stream 1 cos everyone gets their certificate the same day so I would say Stream 2 folks can be at an advantage.

no stress abt it...d issue is everybody will round up same time, and payment of allowee is same weda u are in stream1 or 2....d fact DAT u av stream 2 is not ur fault... da will still pay u BT u have shorter service year (11 months )
