Holy Cow! Can you please show us some pictures? because i don't think anyone here has ever showed us what the roads in ekiti look like

In 2005 when I went to my village in Ekiti, we had no road, come 2014, we actually have a good road network within the city. I don't know which government made it happen, but the Ekiti Parapo organization all over the US/UK work together to discuss issues within Ekiti. I know about this because my parents are active members.

If you go to Ekiti, especially Ijero and Ikun, you'll see huge houses. A lot of Ekiti families I know are building houses and businesses in Ekiti state.

I was shocked at the 2014 Ekiti, it's quite different from my 2005 visit.

I love the idea of this thread so some of us yorubas can air our views and see reason

Right now the South West is not united and I don't think it will be anytime soon.

We have a self imposed leader that has NEGLECTED AFERNIFERE AND OTHER YORUBA STAKEHOLDERS. PLEASE someone should tell me how the yoruba nation can move forward. A HOUSE DIVIDED ON ITSELF.

Whether we choose to accept it or not, Yoruba nation has a VERY BIG PROBLEM which must be handled with a swift response.

Look at the ministerial list. I mean the only Yoruba leader we have there is Fashola (who is now an enemy to this parasite of a leader) the rest are just figure heads.

We have a "yoruba leader" that does not care about the yoruba nation but only cares about his own personal ego and empowerment.

Yoruba roun o.

Ngga, you're not Yoruba.

Who knows, this might be nduchucks sef. You came out of hiding to post here abi.

One day you're igbo, the next you're Yoruba, then Ijaw.

It's "Afenifere" and "Yoruba ronu"....fake boi.

I love Ekiti, but if they could vote in that slowpoke called Fayose, then they're not as smart as I thought.

During fayemi's reign, the government was too far from the people and the people did not like that.

In fact, fayemi was a governor in abroad; he was running ekiti state from another state. He was rarely found in government house or his residence.

Fayose came with an alternative: a government the people can see. And the people rushed him like hot cake. Can you blame them?

Beautiful! Another reason might be because Ekiti is very small.A friend of mine who lives in Akure once told me Ekiti is the most beautiful state in Nigeria and has the best road networks but I have only been there once and I was ignorant then so I never cared

But in terms of infrastructure even though i might be wrong, fayose hasn't done half of what fayemi did. All fayose does is insult buhari and eat amala in canteens.I guess that was what you meant by being closer to the people

I like Fayemi for all the great things he was starting to do in my city.
i.e He was rebuilding a bridge between my city to Ado.......this has been an issue since the creation of Ekiti state.

But I guess that transparency is important.

Where's that mawffugah i was telling some months back about the Yoruba influence in jamaica. They lack knowledge but love arguments

Don't mind - apart from those who founded this Abeokuta...there is a massive Yoruba enclave in New Town, Jamaica. Most of the Jamaicans from there have Yoruba ancestry.

It was a rasta that told me time ago while I was in Uni. And I have met a few Jamaicans from West Midlands, UK, with Yoruba names.

I'm going to post Cuba, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico et al tomorrow. Might do a little of Haiti cos of the Yoruba influence there but most Haitians are Fon, Kongo, and Igbo, with some Yorubas but the Yoruba and Fon cultures seem to be the predominant culture there.
