It appears the occupation ceiling has been reached for External Auditors for this financial year, except there is an error on the skill select page (link below). What this means is that no further invites to apply for 189 visa will be sent for this occupation till maybe July 2016. Occupation ceiling does not affect 190 visa. I will advise you update your EOI to include 190. You can use one EOI to show interest for 189 and 190. When updating your EOI for 190, you will see the option to select the state you want sponsorship from. You will also see the option of "any state" for sponsorship. I read somewhere that states give preference to those that specifically chose them ahead of those that selected "any state" in their EOI. For NSW, that is all you need to do. NSW will send you an invite to apply for sponsorship via email. Once the application is approved, you will automatically get an invite to apply for 190 visa. Check second link below for the requirements of the various states. https://www.border.gov.au/Busi/Empl/skillselect http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/State-Migration-Plans aolatunde00: 1 Like |

pingu2k5:Thanks pingku.i did some reading yesterday(including your past posts) and realized same.will definitely update the EOI to include 190 application as well and select NSW.Theres a part that asks if applicant wouldn't mind living outside the capital city,is that a yes or no answer? Then also, can I select 2states at the same time(SA and NSW)?I say so becos nsw hasn't sent out invites for a while now(expat forum gist).good thing though is they still have 4000 slots to fill before their next financial year. What do you think.I have looked up SA requirements and we can easily meet it.Theres no immediate rush though |

aolatunde00: Congrats on your positive assessment. Really, you could have just applied for skilled independent visa-189 since you have 60 points. But checking through occupation ceilings for this financial year, you are only left with State nominations. And the only state that I know that their nomination is very fast is South Australia. However, they have fewer opportunities compare to NSW whose nomination process is very slow. Could please advise the house the occupations you previously nominated, your qualification and years of experience so that others can learn from your experience? pingu2k5: |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by debsty(m): 7:50am On Oct 26, 2015 |
aolatunde00, I seem to be in the same position as yours even though my assessment is not yet completed at ICAA,I am positive the result would be positive . I have also put in for External Auditor , a pity that the ceiling was quickly reached . I am hoping NSW would make their selections quickly. I observed you mentioned nomination from south Australia, however, I checked it but their requirements for nomination of external auditor is kinda extra. They have this main list , and an extra list (which includes external auditors) which can only be assessed if you are a graduate from the region, or you have very high points , up to 85 including their nomination points. They have about 2 others I can't remember, seems like a big hill to climb. I am thinking I missed something on the site, which you might knw about because you mentioned that you(ur hubby) can meet SA's requirements easily. Pray, do tell. Thanks Cc NNBB2012, Pingu2k5 , Bellong ..kindly help out. |

@NNBB2012. Its been a while i've been on this Australian PR race if you remember...had to pause because i had some personal things to put in place before leaving this country which i've done. I'm a Civil Engineer with 3 years work experience(by November including NYSC) as i'm still working where i served. I also just heard EA now has a 1 week fasttrack assessment option for $900 which i'd definitely go for to save time. I've done IELTS General and got 8,8.5,7,7.5 which gives me 10 points and i'm less than 32 which also gives me 30 points...also have 15 points for my B.tech degree. My total point now stands at 55 and i need your advice on which path to follow among the 3 options i have. 1. Go for state nomination as i checked via Anzscosearch and can see about 5 states sponsoring my occupation. 2. Write PTE Academic and work hard to score 79 in each ability in order to get 20 points and just use my ielts for EA assessment only. 3. Claim 5 points for my 3 work experience which i'm skeptical because i dont have pension or tax proof for my Nysc work duration or do you think my 6 month salary statement would suffice in this regard. I heard app processing are faster, doesnt require extra work documents and hassle free when points are not claimed for work experience. Would really appreciate your advise on this. Thanks |

Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by NNBB2012: 10:20am On Oct 26, 2015 |
johnsontade:Good one! Indeed, it's been a while. Although I always read comments on the thread. With your good IELTS result, you can quickly go for your assessment. The goodnews now is there is fasttrack path which you rightly mentioned. I know of someone that got her positive assessment within 24hrs. It would be good if you could get supporting documents for your NYSC period because that would help you to get 5 points on experience. Otherwise, you would be at the mercy of states which is very slow these days, particularly, NSW. You could give PTE-A a go and see if you could make 20points from it to boost your points and then go for 189. |

Hello house, I'm in serious need of you guys help. I applied for a visa and now the case of officer contacted me requesting for my Nigeria PCC. I'm currently in Australia and I don't have any Idea on how to get the PCC to her within two weeks. They said my finger print and presence is needed to get it, and the procedure outlined on the Nigeria immigration website for getting it will take more than two weeks. I need suggesting on the fastest way to obtaing it by proxy pls. I'm currently on bridging visa. Cheers |

NNBB2012: The problem is that i was paid cash all through my youth service with no payslip, tax or pension statement to back it up or do you think my 6 month salary statement would suffice since its the same coy all through. Would definitely give PTE-A a go. What is the current economic situation in Australia like? Would i have to do bridging course to boost my job chances or go for a tafe diploma? Sent you a PM. Thanks |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Ifexsco: 12:54pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
I have ready it on this thread and in Nigeria all things are possible! Get the finger print form (it flying everywhere online), do a neat finger printing, scan it at maybe 600 dpi to your contact in Nigeria. You have to send other things like your passport photograph and copy of your Intl passport. Alternatively or in addition, you could send the original form to the person by courier. It can be done by proxy, it is no biggie. When I went and did mine, I discovered that those guys are much more interested in the money than establishing you have no criminal records. Did mine for 5000. My 2 cents. Blaze88: |

What date does you employment letter have? That is an issue. If you can get your employment letter to read the start of you NYSC, then fine....but one golden rule is never forge anything, they must definitely will find out....think of this also, have you mentioned NYSC anywhere in your former applications? Don't contradict yourself. johnsontade: |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by johnsontade: 1:54pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
Ifexsco: I think i should be able to get my employment letter reading the start of my NYSC. I have not had any former applications to Australia and won't categorically state any period as Nysc as i've been a full staff even as at then...only that i wasn't getting paid too well and also without tax and pension. I personally would prefer not to claim work experience points to avoid extra hassles if i can get up to 60 points without it as i've read on forums that processing are always faster when your CO isn't bothered about allocating work experience points as the applicants won't be required to submit additional document for proof. |

Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by scrollmeout(m): 3:06pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
johnsontade:To add to what has been said. To claim points for work experience. You will require payslip and reference letters along with a "3rd party document" for the period being claimed to support your claims. This could be tax, pension or any other document not provided by you or the company. This is my personal experience |
Re: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by pingu2k5(m): 3:22pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
@living outside the capital city: you can answer yes or no. Your answer will not affect your visa condition. States may look more favorably at your application if you answer yes. @selecting 2 states at the same time: some states, particularly SA, want you to be specific when choosing your preferred state. If you meet SA requirements and SA is sending invites now, you should select only SA. aolatunde00: |
