oktommy: Yu shld HV been consistent with your DS-160 details as long as you actually filled it yourself. U shld have mentioned 10days instead of 7days. Ds-160 is all the vo need and as long as you are the one who actually did the fillings you shld HV a personal copy but in your case I guess anxiety must have set in. Lady G has explained it all. Good luck. |

LadyGuinivere: No but the challenge I have is that the Human resources has not modify the new status on the platform where we print pay slip. It is a self -service platform that will generate your respectful payslip on PDF format. For the purpose of interview , which may require physical evidence like payslip, is it advisable to use the old monthly salary or the new one. many thanks 1 Like |

coolladdy:See? Info is key. I get your predicament. Its generated online. So I assume u work for an established Corp with established salaries for different pay grades. If they doubt u, it can be verified but I believe your body language states when u are being truthful. Go as your are. Fill your present salary. Explain the inconsistency. Your bank statement should corroborate the story btw. The truth is ALWAYZ verifiable. Again, do u get a ref letter from your office? I believe that should contain your present work grade. Good luck and please fill your form with all the details. Shebi u have seen that certain data produce different results |

LadyGuinivere Please, I can't remember my log in details that I used to apply last year. All I remember is my email address, i dont even remember my username. Please, what do I do and how can I go about it cos I need to book another appointment for 27th of November? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by uptown17: 1:09pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
coolladdy:you wont have a problem. just as LADYG said, your body language will speak for u (confidence). where you issued a promotion letter? you can take it along. if you work in a structured organization as described, you can request for an introduction letter from employer. that should state your new package above ALL, they most likely wont check all these your documents. VOs gat no time |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by coolladdy: 4:10pm On Oct 26, 2015 |
uptown17: I ve requested for an introductory letter from the coy which will indicate my annual pay. I ve a question which I know has occurred severally on this platform. My new monthly salary is 243k and annual package is 6M which include quarterly and annual allowance. I filled in my monthly salary even though it is not an average monthly earnings but it is the only instant verifiable on my statement. I want people's opinion as to my decision. I am only seeking clarification . see below a V/O response to the monthly salary question in the ask the VO thread: ""We're looking for an average. Applicants stress over this question a lot, but to our mind it's fairly simple. In general, how much money do you get in a month? Obviously, you're free to qualify it however you like--there's no rule against explaining things in more detail"" many thanks |

I have been following this forum for a while but decided to ask for an advice from u all 1 am a 32 years old Businessman, and I own my own company here in Lagos. I am married and a child who is just 3 years old. My wife and kid got a US visit visa about 6 months ago and they used it to travel and up till now, my wife and kid have not returned back to Nigeria. She told me she will not return back to Nigeria that she is adjusting her status, and that it could take her 5 years to do that as I don't understand what that means. However, I have a valid visa too, B2, which will expire next month, but I hardly have time to travel, as I don't want to leave my company. Since my wife said I should come over to her in the US to see her if I desire to see my little son, won't I be faced with some questions at the POE, and don't u think I can be sent back to Nigeria at the POE due to the sins of my wife and kid overstaying in the US. And also, what does Adjustment of Status that my wife said means? 1 Like |

topejohnson72:@the bolded, brother ask your wife what she's doing na. Only she can answer u how she intends to use an illegality(staying more than the usual 6 months stamped in) to achieve a legality. And Yes. If its on record she's your wife, there's a good chance you will not have a rosy poe experience. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 4:37pm On Oct 27, 2015 |
topejohnson72:Men.. it is not easy at all... pray that they won't ask you anything at POE which I doubt. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by topejohnson72: 6:55pm On Oct 27, 2015 |
seyewest:That exactly my fear now. I am afraid I might be sent back at the POE because its on record that she's my wife and that we both have a child. However, we applied for our visas at different times, she got her visa like a year after I got mine. Pls what should I do ? Can't she be deported ? Aren't the USCIS doing their job to deport illegal immigrant ? She insisted she will have her status adjusted, and how is that possible ? How can someone go to the US with a B2 visa and suddenly change to a legal immigrant . is this possible ? Can't the US immigration help me ? 1 Like |

topejohnson72: I am very sure you supported this illegality and asking indirect questions on how she can adjust her status, otherwise how do you explain that your own legal wife absconded to the US and threaten never to return except you join her there? 5 Likes |

FrontPageLawyer:How will I be that desperate? When I have a company of my own where I make more than enough on monthly basis, money I can never make elsewhere? U must be a funny man. I'm telling u what is an issue to me, u re saying something else. Why not let your own wife too do the same, if u re married, and see how u will feel. If u can't advice why not keep calm and avoid my post ? 7 Likes |

Nice thread! Well-done Lady Gwyn and others. First time here. @FPLawyer, don't be so sure o. I know of a family back in Nigeria that this happened to in 2010. The wife just upped and left with their child and decided to stay back and 'naturalise' without her husband's knowledge or consent. Long story short, they are now divorced. @Tope, talk to your wife again. Life isn't always abbey of roses out there. Perhaps there are friends and relatives encouraging her to stay? They may be the first to show their true colours when the going gets tough. Try to make the trip before your visa expires and reason with her. Can she take your child way from you like that? Me I don't understand that part. Wish you well. 1 Like |

topejohnson72:Actually when u ask a question on a public forum,u should be prepared for any answer you get. Again he's right, your question truly highly suspicious. Finally. If u truly need help write to Consularabuja@state.gov and inform them that your legal wife absconded to the US with your Nigerian son. That she travelled on so date and u think she's living at blabla or with Mr.ABC. That u have no part in the plan and hope they can Help u locate your son and return him. 2 Things would happen. Your wife would never get status and you too will be flagged. But na good Flaagging if u ask me cos you have shown good intentions (my opinion) @NKGauteng correct! U get the short form of ma name werr well! U watch merlin ? 1 Like |

topejohnson72: Never said you were desperate to leave, but why support the illegality. Or are you saying your wife is the head of the family and has the final say in the house? This is a perfect example of your situation which happened to a close friend. A family of four was granted B1/B2 visa but due to financial crisis they couldn't travel together. The Father travelled to the US and started working; promised to raise funds for the wife and two kids to buy tickets so they could join him in the State. After Seven Months of working so hard, the man eventually raised money, sent to the wife for the ticket. After three days, wife and two kids arrived the US safely after a very stressful trip and long queue at POE. CBP asked for the whereabout of the Husband. She was truthful and answer "he's been in the US for Seven Months" CBP was very happy and didn't hesitate to cancel wife and two kids visa and were immediately deported back to Nigeria for misinterpretation of intent. |
