I am honest and upfront with what I earn. He seems to be good with savings and good financial advice, but I can never hand over my salary. Yes I do spoil him with expensive gifts and help where I can, but I have no obligation to hand it over. But yes we do discuss some important financial spendings like mortgage etc. Other smaller household responsibilities, we agreed that it's his responsibility and my responsibility to save for rainy days. 2 Likes |

There's nothing wrong,i know of a family the wife is a Doctor and a hubby teacher, the car the man is driving was bought by the woman, and she pays close to 80% of ther bills, but they live together happily. To me,its not bad, if the man is not lazy 3 Likes |

if they agree to pursue a goal,of which with the husband salary such goal cannot be accomplished,it is advisable that the woman should support because it is for the benefit of the family. 1 Like |

FREEDOM4BIAFRA:This is exactly how I know most Igbo homes to be. Unless the man runs into difficulties Igbo men do this for their family. I have little respect for men who expect their wives to give them money and still refuse to do house work in that family. If everything should be shared then they better start cooking, washing, bathing the children and looking after them or are they not part of that household? You left for work the same time as your wife and return the same time you go and sit down waiting for her to serve you food and tidy the bed for you to relax later. End of the month she hands over her salary to you!!! That is not husband but parasite. 19 Likes 3 Shares |
