we are about to embark on the building of our 4 bedroom bungalow and will need advice and suggestions from the experienced in the house.
PLEASE help to review the floorplan. Also, will 4000 blocks be enough to complete the building? to give an idea of the scale, the external wall of bedroom 3 is 4 metres. Can anybody give a likely figure for completing the whole project,

OP, seems that your pics are not coming across. "They" will need the floorpan with measurements to give you any worthwhile estimates.

You can email it to my email in my Nairaland profile.

I translated the Doc file to Jpg but much was lost in translation in terms of measurement.

I like massive master bedrooms and this one in comparison to the whole structure is a very good size. I like the guest suite with it's privacy. Not a fan of ensuite but that's not here nor there.

Detest is such a strong word grin

It's just a personal preference that I reached after studying hundreds of blueprints. When folks do ensuite I find that it ends up being too small for comfort. They start cramming those ridiculous corner showers into it.

Why not design the floorpan to share 1 larger bathroom?

Here's my 3D and floorpan showing a Jack and Jill setup. The bathroom space there is 13'5" X 12'3"

I really like your floorplan, ensuite and all.

But sir
I bet you wouldn't want anybody banging on your door or competing to use the wash room ?

Trust me Sir, all of that was taken into consideration. There'll be no banging or competing to use the wash room. There is a visitors bathroom in the house. The location of that was specifically chosen to serve as a potential overflow. It's in a semi private/semi public area of the house.

It's all about planning and designing for the intended usage of the house.

We have made 4000 seven inch blocks and are about to start the foundation. Some people are suggesting we make stone foundations, that they are cheaper and more effective at preventing rising damp. are these two points actually true? thanks as you advise.

is anything like 7 inch block? I only knw of 6 and 9 inches block..... let your engineer be your guide in making decision.... If it is recommended by him that you should use stone foundation you better held to his advice. hope you have conduct soil test? that would let you knw the state of the land. I wish you well on your project

there exist any size of block,it all depends on the one you actually seek, just as we have low sized bricks too but rarely used here in Africa since you can have a 9" block wall plated with a brick tile and it still feels almost as natural too
