Re: Do You Encourage Beating Of Children By Teachers At Schools? by ODUBEZE: 10:27am On Oct 27, 2015
The truth is that beating a child helps to re-enforce some discipline. The fear of it has actually helped to keep most on track.
I have tried both methods: When I decided not to beat but talk: I notice that the child took me for granted simple because he knew that I will do nothing but talk. Even while talking self, the expression on his face was like "are you done?"
Then I changed my method, I discovered that he thinks twice before acting to avoid beating.
For the beating to be effective, it is important however that the Cain administrator must live by example. If not you will beat the child from today reach tomorrow, him no go fear U.

Proverbs 13 vs. 24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. Proverbs 23 vs. 13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Proverbs 29 vs. 15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. Proverbs 29 vs. 17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. 1. The Bible supports correcting children or punishing them with strokes of cane. 2. You are not doing your son any good by sparing the cane. 3. The cane is a rod of correction; use it when necessary on children.

i dont think it is right. Children should be respect as adult too. If beat them in public, it would hurt their feeling .I think teacher or parents should do in private when scolding the child.

There are cultures that cannot be changed, I repeat I have never seen where just talking to a child who doesn't even understand a thing works. It only works after disciplining the child, you explain why he/she needed to be spanked.
OK and other ways to discipline the child can include: making him skip a meal during meal time.
refraining him from playing with other kids during play time.
making him sit alone while in solitary confinement to think about what he has done.
confiscating his toys or play things until further notice.
sending him to bed early before the others.
No presents or sweets for him while u give to others ( nothing makes a child more calm than when he's being treated differently) it works, and more.
somebody also mentioned other ways to discipline a kid on this thread.

Mindfulness:

If parents fail to do their job, teachers won't help these kids by beating them up. The kids, whose parents fail, have been punished enough with such parents.

I am sure you would have achieved the same or better results with your cousin without spanking him. You applied a variety of methods to help him. The way I see it is that your cousin felt genuinely cared for in an appropriate way and this is what helped. You could have left out the spanking, used different disciplining methods, and you would see the child develop nonetheless.

Hell to the noooo.
Rods are meant for animals n criminals nah.

Rods are used so our kids don't act like animals and criminals.
There are moderate manner of corporal punishment. If you care to instill discipline in your kids it's better you even use cane on their buttocks or palm than slapping them.
Kids are wild and it takes discipline to inculcate values into them- or make them.

Different strokes though

I love my parent more for disciplining me and I am the result of it positively. Children of nowadays don't need a soft parent. You need to be strict to them and discipline them when needed.

true, but it wears off during a short period of time if you stop beating them.
when you use strategy, they just grow with it and become better persons as adults.. even behind closed doors.

Very big 'NO'. I believe strongly that taking ur time to speak to a child and letting him or her understand what they have done and ensure u make the remorseful, after watch corporal punishment meted out and also making sure the child knows why the punishment is meted out rather than beating a child

Kids barely keep grudges like adults.
You disciplined a kids today, tomorrow she'll be the first to embrace you.
They say : "when we discipline a child with the right hand we should console him with the left."

Corporal punishment is necessary in some situations. Even the Bible supported it.
Parents these days are just being over protective. If their parents protected and over pamper them the way they do their kids, Will they learn the morals and values of life?
Canning is the fastest means of discipline and it's sometimes necessary in classroom situations.
kids should learn that there are painful consequences for every actions and inactions. They must be made to understand and also appreciate why they're being flogged.
My kids thank me and apologize after being flogged. *I taught them to always do that*

I've never heard of a child been flogged to death. But I've heard of an indiscipline child killing his parents

. My point is you don't know because you have never been there. If parents will do their work, teachers won't need the cane. But nowadays parents leave bulk of the work to teachers. I don't like the cane but it can be properly administered as a deterrent. Do you get the point now? If you still don't then you go need some lashes too....lol

I'm a teacher and I've learnt that children need to be studied to get what you want from them. While some children may need to be be drawn closer with petting and promises, some need to be caned not beaten and not with anger. Beating speaks more of abuse. However some children can make someone do otherwise with some of their naughty wimps
