Greetings to u all
I have been following this forum for a while but decided to ask for an advice from u all
1 am a 32 years old Businessman, and I own my own company here in Lagos. I am married and a child who is just 3 years old.
My wife and kid got a US visit visa about 6 months ago and they used it to travel and up till now, my wife and kid have not returned back to Nigeria. She told me she will not return back to Nigeria that she is adjusting her status, and that it could take her 5 years to do that as I don't understand what that means.
However, I have a valid visa too, B2, which will expire next month, but I hardly have time to travel, as I don't want to leave my company. Since my wife said I should come over to her in the US to see her if I desire to see my little son, won't I be faced with some questions at the POE, and don't u think I can be sent back to Nigeria at the POE due to the sins of my wife and kid overstaying in the US. And also, what does Adjustment of Status that my wife said means?
Hello, your wife is in a better position to answer this question.

You'll have problems if they try to verify it as far as POE is concerned.

Nawa oo, at least from what you have written, you have a decent living in nigeria, i wonder the kind of greener pastures your wife is looking for in the US, while you have already established yourself in nigeria. if your wife and yourself got the visa together, i will advice you not to travel because they will ask for her and your child and other questions may arise, Get another visa. But you wife sha oo, her eye don tear undecided

Yes, if I don't have to go to the US now, I won't see my child. What frightens me most is that even if I choose to travel on my B2 visa to see my child, won't I be sent back at the POE for my wife's sin of overstaying ? And also, what can I do for the USCIS to deport her back to Nigeria ? Or is deportation not possible for an illegal immigrants on the US soil ? Pls I need serious advice on this subject please

If I am not wrong your wife can either upgrade status through marriage or asylums since she went with B1 and B2 because H1 won't be easy to do

So expect divorce from here and am sorry for saying it out.. But if she left to USA not up to 12 months, I don't think you could have issues with POE and when you get to USA, I strongly suggest you talk to her that renewing her visa will be easy if she obey immigration rules and she didn't exceed more than the weeks she stated to spend there because good traveling history always sweet the VO

Hello house.

Just had my interview for an F1 visa at the us embassy Abuja. Met the black lady and she gave me tough time. After bombarding my life with questions, one of which I couldn't answer I just shrugged to.. She asked for my sponsor and I said my dad.. She asked for account statements which were good, I passed them to her, she mellowed down at this point.. And she began to type for a long time. I could swear on my life I was going to be denied but then she handed me the yellow script and told me to come back with my dads most recent bank statement.

What are my chances d next time i go? She didn't give me back my Ds 160. Do I need to print another one? Will I meet her again next time? Cos that lady has serious wahala.

Hello house, my F1 visa was approved few hours ago in Abuja, will post my transcript later today. Thanks to God, Slimmy05 for helping with my sevis fee, you are the best man and I wish you Favour and success in whatever you do. Thanks to the active contributors to this thread too. First, try and renew look for a way to renew your visa. It has only one month validity. Secondly, you don't need to request for your wife to be deported, totally unnecessary. In case you're able to renew your visa, then you can travel. State your case clearly, if your wife chose to separate, then won't deny you access to atleast see your child. CC LagosNIV

I am in a total black out at the moment. And my fear is that even if I get to the POE I might be sent back for the sins my wife committed because its on record she's my wife and that we both have a son.
However, we got our visas at different times, she got hers like a year after I got mine.
I only visited the US once and that was long ago, i hardly have time to travel, even local travellings.
Now, what can I do ? Can't the US immigration send her packing ? In fact, I sent an e mail to the USCIS and I gave them all my wife's details including her passport number and scanned copy of her visa, and till now they never responded. Can't they deport my wife ? Or how can a married woman just abscond with a little child and decide not to return
Pls help me abeg

Hi Guys,

i saw a statement on a one of the schools i am applying to which says 'Minimum GPA requirement for admission is 2.75.
The general GRE is recommended. The score may be considered as a reference for admission. No minimum scores are set'.

Though, i my score in GRE was low but i made a good GPA in my undergraduate days i.e 4.08 of 5.0.

Can anyone share more light on that statement or tell me the different between required and recommended?
I hope my GRE score will not be a reference point for my admission to the school or what?

Thanks.

Meaning they consider other factors and I'm sure with your good GPA, LOR, and SOP you should be fine.
