The bridges are not badly constructed as you may wish.

The problem of the south east is that our land is prone to erosion, yet our people intensely hate trees, flowers and grass in spite of receiving about the highest rainfall compared to any other region.Plants are the only natural obstacle to erosion.
When this attitude of erasing trees or any type of plant from the environment is added to high population density, indiscriminate dumping of refuse in gutters, you have a situation where massive floods flow over the roads and simply carry away the soil. Since nobody cares about saving the environment, the process continue after every rainfall until a huge erosion gully develops.

Aswama went on strike since Wednesday last week because of salary non-payment. They only resumed work yesterday.
I can only say; Governance have really slowed down in Anambra.

Poor channelling of flood water again is another problem here!......I must be honest with you to say that most of these so called erosion sites in Anambra State/Nigeria are man made!..... I am very surprise at the level of negligence now taking over govt!. This should not have reached to this level, if Obiano's commissioner of Environment & that of Works are leaving up to expections!.We don't want more life lost again in Anambra State again because of this, for a lot of people had lost there lives this year already.! They need to be pro-active!. Please Umunnem we must learn to hold any govt of the day to account on every issue where they have failed totally!. This is called constructive criticism! Udo dili unu!. Invest now

I don't think so, but when your house is burning you don't go to your neighbor's house to kill cockroaches in his cupboard. Imo state is burning in flames and any right thinking person from that worthless state should not bother coming to help me kill the cockroach in my cupboard. Among other numerous horrible roads both state and federal in Imo state, there is over 5KM stretch of Owerri section of the PH road is presently unpassable because it has totally been cut off and it is the worst road in the entire federation, you may not know this until you venture no that road then and only then shall you regret ever plying that route. I think that it enough to keep some people on their toes..

Buhari led federal government should come immediately and fix that bad spot of the Nkpor federal highway, though I am sure it will be fix in this coming dry season..

Ideani T-junction along Nkpor/Umuoji/ Nnobi road which intersects with Oyeagu/ Ekeagu/ Ideani road is claiming lives as I write. This is not because of bad roads ..nay .... Let me explain a little....the Ideani end of the junction sort of dipped into the Nnobi road abruptly without any indication that the road has ended it continues on the other side as a deep gully fanned by rainwater from Ideani axis which often overflow the major roads when it rains. The intersects is hilly which often caught some drivers unaware especially those coming from both Nkpor and Ideani with those coming from Nnobi at the receiving end since they are sought of climbing the hills. Since last week 3 cars and 2 big lorries loaded with goods had fallen into the gully which is still active and 6 bodies recovered. The most bizarre thing about this is that, the first lorry to enter the gully exposed and showed something sinister. There are decaying bodies of two okadamen with their bike who must have fallen in without anybody noticing.
The Nnobi axis has its death trap at the Obiaja river.... before and after the river. Please something should be done soonest. Last week an Ekwulobia urban mass rammed into a stationary lorry, i didn't wait around for the body count but I know it is huge.

Please inform them I don't know who may be the next victim. Let a formidable barrier be constructed and the gully checked, speed breakers installed on those steep roads. We are now suffering from effect of good roads here....

That's true, it's also my village actually. We are yet to hear from a reliable source the reason why works on the project has been stopped. Until then, I refuse to be sentimental about the issue just because the deputy governor is my brother. In as much as the road has gone terribly bad with the resent collapse of the bridge due to incessant heavy rains, I will not hate the governor nor his deputy for not fixing the road because there are already too many projects ongoing throughout the state and I know they'll fix it before the end of their tenure.

I think it's about time we dropped this mentality that if my brother is the governor or deputy, they must focus all their attention to my village before any other part of the state. Let me give you a retrospect. During the early stage of Obi's first tenure, the people of Agulu literary crucified him for not focusing his whole attention to Agulu because he is their son. Obi responded and made an open statement and I quote: "I am not the governor of Agulu, I am the governor of Anambra" and that statement made them hate him the more. Obi identified the sectors and regions that needed urgent attention first, not his village, everyone thought he abandoned his kinsmen but he eventually focused his attention to Agulu during his second tenure. Of course, if you go to Agulu, you'll see for yourself what Obi did there and his people are happy again. So please let's not be too quick to label our leaders failures until when they actually fail.

You are very correct. Obi did some of these roads below in Agulu at the tail end of his administration. He was never sectional..and made sure that other parts of the state benefited on infrastructural development even ahead of his own town. And I think Obiano is doing similar thing except on such special projects like the Oil Rig and Airport dual carriageways roads both at Otuocha which is his constituency.

Well, fortunately the Oil Rig and the Airport sites happen to fall in his constituency by Providence. We all know that Obiano didn't choose the location because the oil is naturally deposited there and the Airport site had been chosen by major stakeholders long before he took over. For the dual carriage, I think it's fair enough for an international airport to have a dual carriage way.

Over the weekend to Monday, i visited home. I must say I'm disappointed with certain things on ground.

- Most refused bins were filled up and overflowing with heaps of dirt scattered around them. Especially in Awka.
- Okada men still ply the express road and other major roads in Awka. I thought they've been banned from plying the major roads?
- With the spate of tanker accidents on Anambra roads of recent, one would expect that movement of heavy duty trucks should be restricted to evening and night times. But i still saw them driving on high speed especially on the newly reconstructed express in Awka. Is obiano not tired of paying condolence visits to families of tanker accidents victims?
- The issue of the Nkpor flyover area is probably the most annoying. Apart from the huge gully, the putrid smell emanating from the refuse dump by the roadside is so disheartening. It seems we don't have competent hands to manage the ministry of environment in Anambra.

Although i noticed some positive developments in some other areas of the state, the negative stuff i saw just ruined it all for me.
Lastly, anybody close to Obiano should advice him to pull out the stupid "willie is working" sign posts scattered all over the state. They are so annoying. I saw one of those sign posts planted beside a very bad portion of the Ifite Unizik road around the 5 decking area. I was like, wtf? Even the entrance to the commissioners quarters from Ifite is very bad at the moment. What's going on really
