Advice from a Corp Member.

Congrats on your posting to Benue State. I served in Benue state 3 years ago and have been visiting after my NYSC cos I enjoyed the state(Gboko precisely).
The Camp is in Wannune and its along Markurdi-Gboko road. About 45 minutes-1hr from Makurdi at 120km.
Directions: From Lagos, Iddo/Oyingbo park, there are buses going to Makurdi and Gboko- Benue links and some otherS I can't recollect now. But the offices are closely beside each other. You can choose any of the transport buses to follow, but I advise Benue links. You can either go through Makurdi or Gboko, but Makurdi is okay. When you get to Makurdi, at the last bus stop, cross to the other side and directly infront of Winners Chapel church, there are cars going to Gboko, you drop at NYSC camp just after police college and its by the road side- easy to locate. If you are many, you can arrange with the driver of the bus from Lagos to take u to Wannune (NYSC camp) straight. That will be better cos of distance of the journey- 10-11hrs. If you chose to go thru Gboko, you may get a car to Wannune from the last bus stop directly or ask an Okada man to take you to the park where u get cars going to Makurdi.
Also, I know there are transport companies that transports corpers from Lagos straigh to NYSC camps across the country- this is good as u get to mit fellow 'ajuwayas' and they take to where u're going. But its somehow expensive(this was what I did during my time).
I still have contacts in parts of Benue that will be willing to help should you require such. You can also contact me if this is not clear enof.

Its a nice place 2 serve and 4get all these talk about HIV, at least it doesn't spread in the air. Theres enough food and u'll save enuf coz the cost of living is pretty low (except 4 Makurdi). Most importantly, the state is Peaceful. So enjoy ur stay and i wish all of us a safe Journey 2 our various states of posting

NCCF, IS the christian corpers fellowship on camp, they have service every evening, and after u av bin posted to ur PPA, U wil meet them cos they ar in virtually all d local govt in d state. Wateva u do in camp and ur service year ,NCCF is d best family u kan eva have

Only in BENUE STATE NYSC CAMP: where a pail of water is #20 to #50 per bucket, no bathroom n toilet except u use d bush n field or better still u pay #50 to bath in the bathroom and #40 to use d toilet.

The camp is nice, Benue is nice. I served in Benue 2012 and currently i am a facilitator in that same camp. By God's grace stream 1 corps members we will be meeting next week monday at the orientation hall when lectures commences. Welcome to Wannune in Tarka LGA of Benue state.

Hello Everyone, I'm currently serving in Benue. Don't expect too much from the state so u won't end up getting disappointed. The camp is in Wanunne (in between Gboko n Markurdi). The best network is mtn and light isn't any issue. although u may not be allwd to charge in ur rooms. u can always get these lamp holders that u can connect to ur light bulb. run ur extension from thr. water might b an issue though. dont worry about mosquitos.

Touchdown in Benue......... No light in the male hostel yet(there's light in the female hostel ). Glo network is very good; the rooms are okay with the exception of charging spaces. The maami market isn't very far from the male hostel. Things are cheap in the maami market tho(i got a bottle of goldberg for #150 and sachet water for #10). Dunno much about the female hostel but the male hostel is about to be full, get here on time so as not to get bedspaces in the corridor.

Both females and males get here quickly so as to get good beds.

Stream II PCM's make sure you get to camp early so as to get easy access to bed spaces and enable you to finish registration on time hence getting your kits early.

For beer lovers, no fear. Beer is cheap here, Gulder is #200, 33 is 150, Goldberg 150.

All other things are a little bit expensive e.g a plate of rice with meat without beans is #200; with beans it's #250. Plate of swallow food is #300.

N.B: Don't make excessive photocopies of your documents everything is computerized(only your thumb is required). You can just make about 2 or 3 each copies of your documents.

The soldiers here seem to be friendly though it might be because it's the first day(will let you know about subsequent days).

Looking forward to the subsequent days, I guess it will be fun cos I'm enjoying maself alredi

My shout out to all my fellow cm. Kindly update me on what is going on in camp cos i'm still on the way due to some private issues I had to deal wit before coming. I may likely get to camp by 11:30 pm or before that time. Hope I will be allowed to do my registeration on my arrival. Your urgent response would highly be appreciated by me and others that are yet to arrive.
