ANSU- Still partially accredited
UNIPORT- Not so solid, they also loose accredition.
Dunsin89:
. Thanks for your understanding Simba1. It's only 4 that I can vouched for, others in the East and South have partial accreditation and those with stable accreditation apart from the 4 listed above do have their accreditation taken away for just a short period of time while they swiftly make necessary adjustment as applicable and they will be given back. And within that short period of while their accreditation is void, the media may not make it public. Those Universities include NAU, EBSU, ANSU, IMSU, ESUST, UNIUYO etc

. I didn't list UNIBEN cos it's not in the East nor neither is it in the South. Uniben is in the Middle belt. The link of accredited uni by Drguzzykola is True. But the website hasn't been reviewed. The info there has been there since 2012. Nigerian Universities with Dentistry is now up to 9. But the list is still holding to about 5 universities offering Dentistry in Nigeria which further make my assertion to your link true.
Uniport now has a very good medical school@Simba1. (From recent findings). You can as a friend over there to confirm.

Good evening house.
I have two questions that's been bothering me..
So I'm letting it out here...
1) why do the most intelligent ones from high school seem to always go for medicine.?
The reason is obvious. People always see medicine as the most lucrative of all (this is not true). Though some reasons may still vary with individuals, however, most intelligent students will want to go for medicine because they believe it is d ONLY way for an intelligent student like them to make QUICK and HUGE success in life(dis one too na big lie!)...Many intelligent doctors out there would ve done far better if they had ventured into other fields...You don't go into medicine because u are intelligent. That is why the desire to make it quick in life has a way of pushing one into making wrong choices that may eventually amount to regrettable outcomes..
In this life, I belief, no matter the work u do, no matter the impression or the belief of people about that work u do, it is u who can make it different, it is u who can make it valuable and it is still u who can change the impression of the world about it. whether we like it or not, people will always have their belief...But what really matters is not how d people view it, rather it is hw u view it, because it is u who will do the work yourself and not the people .

Other than what you stated, the MD issued is a postgraduate degree for allopathic practice of medicine as you get in for the program after undergraduate school ie first degree. While the MBBS is an degree issued after the undergraduate study of medicine to the best of my knowledge
well, you are correct but only for countries that follow the United Kingdom's tradition of medical degree (obviously Nigeria too) but in countries that follow the US's tradition, MD and DO offered as the first degree titles for completion of undergraduate study in med skul.

MD is offered by allopathic schools and DO by osteopathic schools.

Hi all, I'm a medical student based in the UK and I was wondering what medical school is like in naij. I know it may differ slightly from university to university, but what is the general structure?
How many years is the course?
What are the major exams for each year?
How soon do you start learning in the hospitals rather than in lectures?
What kind of exrta-curricular activities are available for students to participate in?

I'd really appreciate your opinions and experiences.
