That is what happens when you employ idiots in your bank The email was cloned and transaction was authorized. Simple phishing technique and scam that has been going on since before them born me. The CFO should be sacked, why did he/she not ask for a call to confirm the transaction, a transaction of 7 figures?? Some people are dummies sha. What if it was wired to China or somewhere in Latvia?? It would not be traceable once outside Nigeria and the owner don jonze be that Employ people with this know how and skill and pay well, these banks no go gree, the only thing they know is age verification up and down 1 Like |

hotwax: LOL Better dont say nonsense that you do not know. There are hackers that work with scammers too and they are scammers in a way. Hackers do not come online and say they are hackers, LOL so I doubt your claim to be one. Also there are 3 types of hackers, White, Black and GreyHat hackers, I doubt you know all these. Not all wire transfers can be traced, and if they were to be traced, there's always a loophole somewhere, international laws, closed accounts that make it virtually unsolvable for many a year And please hackers steal information to enrich themselves using RansomWare or simply trading Information to maybe Russia or selling in underground forums, Credit Card details, Account logins, things like that - Go to the Dark Web or google it, maybe you will understand what I am saying You might be a programmer, doesnt make you a hacker; a complete one in this sense - there is a lot to that term HACKER I am into a little bit of Cybersecurity now, so i Damn well know what I am spewing 1 Like |

Kbs468:"How do Nigerian youths reason? Come are you still in skul, a graduate or a working class?" I believe d question i asked is a valid one but am a bit disappointed that u are unable 2 treat issues within their merit without resorting 2 enquiring about status as quoted above. its obvious that u didnt digest d story properly. as a nigerian youth, u owe it 2 yourself, to nigeria and d future generation 2 question d system and d activities of d custodians of d system. if CBN says BVN would guarantee a fraud proof safety of d financial assets of all nigerians, then it should. what happened was a failure on d part of BVN cos money left d victims account without his consent. by whatever twist of fate, d perpetrator was unable 2 complete d process. which means, some smarter individuals could have a go and could b more successful next time |

menix:"BVN can't stop fraud directly but indirectly.." Hmmm...if this is d case then CBN lied to nigerians cos CBN guaranteed that BVN will prevent fraud. they didnt specify if it can do it directly or indirectly. money left d victim's account without his consent. BVN couldnt prevent this |

lexy2014: There we go again. You have just comfirmed the reason behind asking you of your status with your submission above, but my candid advice is for you to read the write up again, think positively before replying me again and then you will realised how disappointed you should be with yourself. I thought the story stated that a lawyer in the VP's firm had his email account hacked? Dont you think that every information and other relevant previous transaction details about the Bank account could be found in that mail account? I also thought the story specifically mentioned a particular lady in connection with the deal? If so dont you think she could either be the regular contact of the lawyer in particular relative to the bank account and when she got signal for tranfer as its used to be not knowing that such order was coming from hackers? Or she is actually an accomplice to the hackers and she has been in the business for long as an insider in the bank who knows how to get her ways past the Bank's online operation security system? Above all I believe kudos should be given to the CBN for introducing BVN. I mean its a laudable achievement on their part for they could have noticed the operation from the out set and actually prepared to make them a skape goat to the legion of hackers in order to butress their competence. Incase someone else is reading this, please the BVN enrollment ends this october and failure to do that means you are forfeiting your fund to your banker oo. God bless us all. |

Ayatullah: Ayatullah asalam, the change everyone is clamouring for is not restricted to structures alone but attitudes inclusive, else this incidence and that which happened to Corp Members in Abia state would just escalate because of our copy-copy trend. So please ask yourself how much the VP had in his account at their age inspite of his well established root. If not for greed even, why didn't they limit operation to their skul account if its all about paying skul fees. And I believe its not only CGPA summary that is indicated on ones certificate but also the worthyness of character |

If the great scientists of old whose works we are benefitting immensely now puts money first before anything then we wont have been hear today because letter writing would be the means of communicating and how can I ever seen your comment and react or respond as I am doing? [i]LOL Better dont say nonsense that you do not know. There are hackers that work with scammers too and they are scammers in a way. Exactly what I said. Arm robbers use guns built buy engineers, it doesnt mean Engineers are thieves Hackers do not come online and say they are hackers, LOL so I doubt your claim to be one. Also there are 3 types of hackers, White, Black and GreyHat hackers, I doubt you know all these. You are a kid. There are 3 types of hackers LOne wolves, Mobs and government spies. Generically, there are two hackers, Rogue and professional hackers. I work with a security firm as a hacker. We test many network for security vulnerabilities and consult for government and private firms. Well, you need a little education to lknow these. yes I am a hacker. Google the meaning of hacker. Its not a secrete cult. Not all wire transfers can be traced, and if they were to be traced, there's always a loophole somewhere, international laws, closed accounts that make it virtually unsolvable for many a year Every wire transfers are traceable when people are ready to investigate them. Its just that no one is interested in wasting his time and resources tracing $700. But when a government is ready to trace any amount, its 100% traceable. Even as smart as Israeli IDf hackers, they still trace virus to them. Google the word "It Forensic" And please hackers steal information to enrich themselves using RansomWare or simply trading Information to maybe Russia or selling in underground forums, Credit Card details, Account logins, things like that - Go to the Dark Web or google it, maybe you will understand what I am saying The moment you steal money from someone'else credit card to buy a phone or laptop, you are a scammer. But if you steal a database containing some passwords and sell them to FBI, you remain a hacker. This is a pure code of conduct of hackers. You might be a programmer, doesnt make you a hacker; a complete one in this sense - there is a lot to that term HACKER Hacking is a course in the university. I had Masters in it. Do you want me to scan my school certificates to you? I am into a little bit of Cybersecurity now, so i Damn well know what I am spewing Yes you think you know little, but you know nothing. Finally, as a combatant soldiers. You either work for a terrorist organization or work for a legal entity. Soldier is a professional and legal work. Its not a secret society. As a hacker, you can work legally or work with a scammer, the choice is yours. Scammers are not professionals, its like armed robbers using guns to rob, does that make gun manufacturers armed robbers too? Gun manufacturers are into legal business. We learnt all these in school. You need to get it to. |

Empero1: Well to mad negros like you. A scammer = Hacker... In developed country A scammer = Fraudsster. A scammer can use hacking tools just like an armed robbers will use gun. It does not make gun manufecturers robbers too. I wonder what happened to Nigerian Education system. Set of wasted generation. |

hotwax: SMH. Nigerian so called youth disgracing Africa publicly. They claimed Scammer=Hacker. So an Armed robber who uses a gun = An Engineer. So an Armed robber that have access to cutlass and daggers is not a blacksmith. A scammer = electronic 419er. He may use Juju or hacking tools. He doesn't know that know how to make the hacking tools, he just downloaded them somewhere. Our education system is really in a mess. |
