Beautiful contributions so far! Alaigbo must surely convince the world that we are a rare race in this continent and the world at large... I am really happy guvnor Ugwuanyi is gradually fulfilling his promises. I am now convinced that government of the state spy or lurk around on this thread often (by heeding to our cry of constructing those deplorable roads at mechanic village/Umuakashi industrial layout of NSK). ...and also, I would like to see our educational sector witness a total and rapid overhauling, where our pupils and students would learn in a 21st century conducive learning environment. How I wish the state can introduce a kind of BRT buses that would convey students to and fro schools in the major towns and city of the state as it's been done overseas especially America, to ameliorate and mitigate the suffering of our dear students who trek long distance to school everyday. I know, the immediate past govt of Sullivan provided '18 seater' buses for all public and some mission secondary schools in the state, most of this bus are not being used to convey the students rather the staff are the ones enjoying it apart from when schools have competitions. In Nigeria, I think the only state adopting this medium of transportation for her 'cherished' students is Ondo state and its really going well for them, making the students always elated and ready to go school... If gburugburu can cash in one this lapses and new 'innovation', He would be endearing himself to the hearts of Enugu students and proud parents. ...dejee nuu ooo!!!

Why not? After all I was forced to pay a total of N135,000 in punitive money to Eswama this year alone . This is after they took my workers away and locked them up in police cells , even without warning or demand notice .

Let the IGR keep coming, the masses will continue bleeding for it.

Picture 1 = Enugu neighborhood houses of cement and using local plastic tiles for roofing
Picture 2 = American neighborhood houses of wood and using shingles for roofing

Both neighborhoods have decent homes in spite of using very different building materials. We have won the fight about using local paints for our houses than the imported paints. That has helped create a few paint factories that have survived over the years.

In this particular American neighborhood, perhaps due to their soil type or due to having a concrete slab making factory close to them, they decided to use concrete slabs for the streets and sidewalks. Likewise, we should also have our streets made with concrete roads or with interlocking stones built locally using our local contractors. Then we would have finally started moving in the right direction in our construction industry. This issue is of the highest national importance, as it will help create massive amount of good paying jobs locally, while reducing capital flight which has killed the Nigerian economy that is so addicted to using foreign construction companies for even the simplest street level jobs.

Interesting to see that Enugu and most Igbo states are the least ethnically diverse on the Internally Generated Revenue ranking. .

1.Lagos - Multi-ethnic State
2.Rivers - Multi-ethnic State
3.Delta. - Multi-ethnic State
4.Enugu - Homogeneous state
Kaduna-Multi-ethnic state
Kano -- Multi-ethnic State
Edo----- Multi ethnic State

Igbo senators should stop building in abuja and build in Enugu.

Enugu is just 1 hour from Abuja.

I fancy an Estate in Enugu called Senate hill, a place for all igbo politicians in Abuja to live.

Igbos stop developing other people land.

It's only in a working country that you can afford to work in Abuja and live in Enugu! You know some commuters commute into London from as far as Paris courtesy of the Eurotunnel!

Spot on, i am talking about the Nsukka area being developed. Nsukka is still Enugu or is it not?

The last we heard about Nsukka was the Adada State.

I Think that location has potential to be a global city.

Let us start looking closer to home. What is in Abuja is also in Enugu.

Nwanne mmadu, kedu?
My mother got back from the priest's house the other day....and narrated a story...it was clear her heart was torn to pieces
She said an old, frail/infirm man had come to see the priest that day.....the clearly still heart broken man had suddenly just lost his wife...who had just stepped out to run some errand...?bank run, I do not remember

Well....apparently, the old man came to ask the priest to give him a burial time concession....in Enugu environs, there is a new church rule that all burials must be within a certain time
The old man wanted a biiiig extension because the road to his hometown, Nomeh is soo bad...

He is hoping that within these months, the road would have been fixed cry
..in order for him to take her home for a burial...in order for he roads to be motor-able enough for people to come to the burial....the road is that bad, I gathered
This is an ordinary story, but it is heart breaking for that poor, old man who has lost his life companion...
The story haunted my mother....now seeing it here as I have typed it...it is haunting me too

Please kindly fix Nomeh road for MrSpyder....but especially for that poor, sad, old man...please
....(if anyone in government is reading this)
Thanks

PLS O. THIS IS AN SOS MESSAGE . This is a Call for our brothers in d corridors of authority :even if na patch as jonathan be dey do am, make dem come patch enugu onitsha expressway. The road is completely broken down esp d enugu axis. I passed through that road on my way back from unizik last week. It was so lonely cos we were d only one on it, we were afraid of robbery which has become quite frequent. I narrowly escaped one last month. The problem is that d old road built by sullivan is breaking down (from d oji river). All vehicles ply d old road including heavyduty (they do not risk d expressway), the traffic on d old road now is unbearable, u could be caught in traffic for an hour and remember its a single lane. PLEASE WHAT WILL IGBOS DO DURING THE XMAS AND NEWYEAR. WILL THAT OLDROAD REMAIN AFTER THE NEWYEAR?. i school at awka and i live in fear of a simple trip from enugu to awka. A 45mins journey has become one of 2hrs.

The last government, both local state or federal that built anything in Nomeh Unateze is Jim Nwobodo that built a secondary school in 1982.

Now, imagine that.

So many burials are waiting for the dry season before any vehicles can come into this town. Including my friends dad.
