Hello great people, pls is there anyone running a PhD program (especially in Science-based fields) in any Canadian university here? I have sent tons of mails to potential supervisors and most of them aren't replying and the few that reply don't have funding. Pls can anyone give me a good tip/advise on this issue? I can share the nature of the mail I send to anyone who can help out

PhD is one tricky academic spot to secure, due to availability of funding. You need to be very lucky... I suggest you study the research expertise of those professor and come up with a good proposal based on knowledge gaps rather than sending emails.

Good morning all,please i sincerely need an explanation to this; i submitted an application for a study permit at the vfs global on 20th of Oct and i also did biometrics the same day,i submitted the form for e-medical because i did upfront medical and at the vfs global i was ask to submit everything including the hard copy of my passport and even asked to pay for the courrier service for retuning the passport when it is ready.i recieved a mail saying that my processed passport have been fowarded to vfs center in accara Ghana and i have been tracking it and i normally seen that it is still in accara but i don't know what is going on because i have not gotten an mail either saying your medical have been recieved or go for your medical,please i want to know if anyone pass or have witness a thing like my case and i want to know if this is a good sign.please someone should talk to me..

You submitted your application via paper route and did upfront Medicals so you def can't get any update on your Medicals.you only get updates on Medicals if you submitted online . Just keep calm, relax and wait for your approval mail.

Yesss.. Make sure you submit your app on time and make it very straight forward

It simply means your passport has been forwarded to that canada visa office in Ghana where your application will be reviewed.

Bro is it not possible for the sponsor to transfer the money into your parent account pending the time you will get the visa then send it back to him after you finish the process. VO usually concern about your relationship with your sponsor and that usually go a long way in granting applicant Visa... I felt your heart and I pray it'll be fruitful this time around.

I was at the canedu fair organized by maple yesterday where different Canadian college came for fair @VI lag. I spoke with Humber college rep and I was told I could reapply without app fee because I have reapplied with them in the past. So my mind is back with them.

SPONSOR........... The person I want to use as my sponsor isn't my parent coz they don't have that huge money in account but I plan using someone else that was introduced to me by my uncle. My uncle is the persons personal bank accountant but the issue is he is an Igbo man. How do I claim relationship for him to want to sponsor me ?

My uncle advice me we could plan it out that I work for him coz he is a business man and we m being paid salary by him though we have started the salary payment for 4mnths now which will serve as my personal statement of account to support the sponsors account..........we also plan that a letter will be stated that I work for him and he is willing to sponsor me to study up and come back after my study to contribute further to the work..... I hope with that m on track

I have taken out time to look through the different parts of the tread and I must say, nairaland is one educative and informative platform. Each and every one of you has tried so much for the continuation of this thread. You guys rock.
I applied to Thompson Rivers University four weeks ago, still waiting to hear from them, looking and preparing ahead, I have a few questions and worries, please any help with answers here will be greatly appreciated.
1) My sponsor is my sister who is married with four kids, will there be any issue since she no longer answer the same surname with me. Also, if I choose to use the husband instead, will this reduce my chances of getting the study permit, finally do i need to prove she is my sis or he is my sis's husband and which best way for me to prove this (any advice there)
2) From my reading of the previous part of this thread, I notice where someone said they requested he pays 1year tuition, is it compulsory after I have paid the tuition deposit to my school.
3) Does my account statement matters since I have a sponsor.

Please answer and advice will be highly appreciated.
