This award exists because female authors suck when compared to their male counterparts. It's an award of mediocrity.

this BBC people sef are promoting BIAFRA, why will a book written to split Nigeria be awarded?
Same was said about Chinua "There was a country". How does a book which fore tells the truth about the scam of a country Nigeria be said to actually written to split it up? Come to think of it. Was Nigeria even almagated on the opinion of the masses or for the interest of a certain region?

you Igbos sound so foolish sometimes. You guys are so fooolish that you take every achievement to state level. Instead of you to praise the young lady as Igbo woman you are seeing her as someone from Anambra. You guys are already divided and you are talking of Biafra.
I have not seen any yoruba who talks about state instead of Yoruba as a group.

That's why all of you have threads of all your state separately while yorubas have one for all their states.

Biafra will be a disaster. My people think twice already. No more support for your useless Biafra.
If only u brushed ur teeth dis morning I would have had time to reply u, have u seen me advocating for biafra? See me see wahala, and mind u igbos r not divided, dnt ever compare our unity with dat of any tribe pls

Calm down bro. Even as a family in Igbo land there's always a competition that's just the hunger within igbos it doesn't mean division or hatred. Between Serena Williams and Venus Williams you have to still diffentiate rather than call them Williams family.

A book that honours biafra and her memory.
God bless you and all the igbo prodigious writers springing up everywhere.

You are very correct. Anambra people(the low life, insecure OMATA types) are the biggest culprit. I just do not know why they consider important to point out to everyone the achievements of Anambra people. It is a sign of deep rooted inferiority complex.
Chimamanda, herself, was raised outside Anambra state. She is a complete 'Ada Igbo'. Anambra ancestral lineage, but grew up in Nsukka and Enugu.

@Ogonimilitant, please stay on course. Ignore such insecure people. Igbo is Igbo. From Abakiliki all the way to Southern Cameroon.

What is so bad about highlighting her state? Did anyone say she is not Igbo?
Maybe you need to go to America and see how American states compete among themselves as if they were countries.
Backward fellow. No wonder that country is backward. complete bunch of herds.

no doubt the book is amazing, she's great at writing books, it depletes Nigerian history but truth be told it all fiction.
.from the comments i see here it looks like you guys have hijacked her achievement to tribalism level and some don't even know the meaning of fiction......#stillbelieveinnaijaunity

I'm Igbo predominantly but I have to admit that you spoke the truth. I hate to point fingers but the main culprits are usually from one state.
